I'll find out more and either update here or DM to you. She went to three schools and Blue Book was a definite apparently. Two told her "come back in March when you or he are on a blue book for the district". When she went back she was told applications had closed week before and the school was full <deleted>. My GF has been in Thailand for 20 years and speaks Thai fluently so she did not misunderstand.

Not sure about Cambodian citizen children but there is quite likely to be a way if paying. This timing is a coincidence as my Cambodian GF is trying to get her 13yr old Thai son into a school in Pattaya (he has Thai ID card, Thai birth certificate and was born to Thai father, lived and schooled until now elsewhere in Thailand). The Pattaya schools were giving the GF the run around but, just today, she visited a local school who will take him upon passing some sort of exam or interview. One thing for sure is that her child must be listed on a Blue Tabian Baan in the area. She was told by the school that fees are 15,000 per 6 months - I'll be checking this all out when I see GF tomorrow. I didn't know Thais had to pay to go to government schools.

Total waste of space of a woman. Doesn't deserve the column inches (but she's had plenty of inches from many guys) and lot's of failed marriages too. Quite how she can be travelling when essentially bankrupt seems so wrong. Complete mess and a convicted criminal too. The Sun only publish these stories because they know it generate's interest and ad sales. Thailand deserves better quality tourists!

About time the Thai immigration made automated gates for most travellers. Recently we went to Singapore, me on a British passport and GF on a Cambodian passport. All travellers have to fill in a free online form before entry with passport number, where staying etc. On arrival simply used one of the many automatic gates (there was only a handful of staffed desks). Zero queues and took just 15 seconds to enter. After that we both received Visit Pass emails welcoming us to Singapore and stating our length of permitted stay (me 90 days, her 30 days) with a link to extend stays if needed. Exit from the country was similarly easy. Thailand 4.0 anyone?

Thai health officials worried about growing number of fat kids
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And in tomorrow's news, The Krungthep Post newspaper reports on a Department of Health study that Thai children are suffering a Diabetes epidemic... The causes of this poor health and obesity should seem obvious. Excess refined sugar consumption Eating deep fried processed meet on a stick Inactivity playing with smartphones Watching TV for hours on end Computer games during any "spare" time Will anything change? Unlikely. -
I know a Thai lady who served nearly 10 years in Thai jail for a drugs conviction from about 2003 to 2013. On release she changed her name and got a new passport. She remarried her fomer British husband (long story) and they have been living happily in the UK on a settlement visa for the last 5+ years. I beleive she now has, or is about to receive British citizenship. One thing for sure is that regulations and checks will get ever more stringent in this data collection/sharing age. Good luck to OP - I would not mention it on application. As @BritManToo say's there's "nothing to lose".

White lion cub found roaming around Pattaya, tracked to Chinese owner
soi3eddie replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Wonder how his neighbours feel reading this. Right now its a cub (kitten). What will happen when it's fully grown and on the prowl? It might help with any soi dog problem though.- 19 replies

Exactly same for me. They ran the fiber cable through the ceiling voids and then down the wall to where I wanted installation. Took about 3 hours in total and a really neat job.

No need to go out to look and talk with sales agents. Simply go online to AIS Fibre or 3BB, look at their packages and prices. Give them a call (both have good English speaking staff) and arrange installation. I used AIS VDSL 76/20mbps for 8 years and it was good. Then I upgraded to 3BB fibre 1000/500mbps for the last 3 years. Both are very reliable and installation was done with a few days. No data limits.

I always have done 12 month bank statements as well. Switched to dedicated account for the 800K two years ago but that also has frequent deposits from overseas and then outflows to my main account for monthly expenses so no issues with dormancy. One thing for sure, we never know what nasty surprises they have in store for us until we get there. Part of the excitement of wanting to be here I suppose ???? I'll be doing double copies anyway this year just in case.

Thanks to @cliveshepfor this update. I use CW and will be going at end of March for 4th retirement extension so your notice is very useful. WhyTheF they want all this extra paper now? At least I can be prepared. Only issues before was when I got barked at by female IO for printing a scan of passport rather than a photocopy.

7,600 Russian Tourists Seek Extension of Stay in Phuket Amid Tourism Boom
soi3eddie replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
So you would rather they were mobilised to fight against Ukraine? If it was a war to protect Russia from invasion then you would have a point. FYI, Russia invaded Ukraine and not vice versa. Many Russians are leaving to avoid being conscripted to fight in Ukraine. Get it, they probably don't want to fight the Ukranians. Better they are in Thailand than fighting against Ukraine wouldn't you agree? -

Thai Navy needs 200 million baht to salvage sunken HTMS Sukhothai
soi3eddie replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
My sentiment too, however it may contain contaminents (if not leaked already). It would become a natural reef and haven for fish and should be marked on charts so that fishing boats (if using nets) or Thai submarines can avoid it. -
PINK ID Card UK National format
soi3eddie replied to bolt's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nice try at rehashing a long since discussed topic ???? -
Pak Bara is on the mainland in Satun Province (where the ferry pier is). It is not on the island of Koh Lipe. As stated in the article the speedboats are diverting to an alternative pier. Hope they get this resolved soon both the sake of both the fishermen and tourism. National parks (Tarutao) are very close to Koh Lipe so it's easy to see that there might have been a "misunderstanding" regarding overlapping boundaries ????

PINK ID Card UK National format

From UK and mine is 61014 so looks like no pattern for nationalities. More likely, if any pattern, then relative to district office. -

Think you missed @transam's point completely.
