In my opinion, and from my experience, marrying any girl is crazy. I did it once and it will not be repeated. For last 3 years have had a long term partner, although she would like a ring on the finger, I am am not prepared to have a ring through my nose! I will remain happily unmarried (with or without her).

Of interest to more folks on this group; how about Motorway #7 to/from Pattaya?

Did my 3rd Non-O retirement extension last week at CW Bangkok. From initial document check to walking out with new stamp was less than 1 hour. No extra paperwork or copies needed. Very straightforward and professional. FWIW: I always do the TM30 and include it in the bundle. Just one thing new for first time, she took a picture of me holding the page regarding requirements for the extension and the overstay warning. Quite bizarre but all friendly.

Deny. That's what my Thai ex-wife did for 5 years after robbing my Bangkok condo of my agreed posessions, furnishings, TV etc. after divorce. She even lied in denial to her UK lawyers and repeatedly denied. What she did not know, was that I had security log books and image evidence, along with a statement from the condo juristic manager that staff had helped her load her niece's vehicle with TV etc. On production of the evidence, she dropped her claim against me for withheld final settlement funds immediately!

Good to see a clamp down on this. Did the company actually owe any taxes or not? Would expect them to have been aware if they owed 40 million Baht.

I don't know buy would like to hear. Hue Heng Seng seem to be the premier gold shop chain in Thailand. Hopefully others can advise on Aurora. -
Disputing a condominium fine
soi3eddie replied to wprime's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Sounds very toxic. Glad to hear that the fine was removed. If I was you, the fine would be least of my worries. No need for drama or animosity where we live. -
Would think that they would have parking on site or at one of the neighbouring hospitals. You would be most welcome to park as my guest at my condo secure garage (plenty of space for as long as you need). Just 200 metres walk from BTS Sanampao. 1 station from Victory Monument. PM me if you wish.

A very broad ranged question. I would say, read the UK government rules carefully, several times, get your stuff (a lot of it) in order and do it all yourself. That's what I did with tourist visa 2000, fiancee visa 2001, tourist visa 2002 for mother in-law, 2004 for wife's niece, 2017 for new gf after divorce, 2018 and 2020. All succesfull. Just lodged another UK tourist visa for my current GF (Cambodian). Will be a month before the result is known. What can an agency do that you can't do yourself? (other than take lots of your money!). It's simply a case of filling forms, filing and proving evidence.

Price is not everything. Saving 500-1,000 Baht might give a warm (or is that a cool?) feeling but on an item that should last over 10 years, I value reliability and service more than an upfront discount. YMMV.

After terrible installation service from HomePro for a simple hot water shower, the last thing I would trust them with is an air conditioning install. Wouldn't go near a supermarket either. I bought new inverter units here in Bangkok in 2019 and again in 2020 from a company called S.C Cooling ->https://teddyaircond.com/en Great service and professional installation. They have virtually all makes and models available. They have PM2.5 filter and WiFi controlled units if that's your thing. Hope this helps someone.

Health Dept Warns of Food Poisoning Risks in Summer
soi3eddie replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Always amazes me how Thais at home rarely put uneaten food in the fridge, but leave it out for next day. A few extra degrees of heat from 33c to 36c probably not going to make much difference. Training in food hygiene at all times would make sense. -
Western Digital My Passport Ultra 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and possibly larger now. USB C so fast interface. Small form factor and reliable over the last 3 years. Bought mine from JIB IIRC. Reasonbly priced. Agree buying from proper store is the safest bet for a genuine product.

Only optional? Not much fun then. Pass. ????

Try LG support for an engineer in your area. Better than just trying a local "engineer". More likely to show up, have the knowhow and any parts needed.

My thoughts exactly. First call would have been to Lenovo Customer service (I also have a similar, fault free model since 2017). Very good laptop. When my daily workhorse Dell needed a new battery last month, I contacted Dell Thailand. They were great with quote for on-site service. The only thing they couldn't do was give me a date more specific than "1-2 weeks". As I was travelling, I couldn't be sure of being at home so decided to do it myself. Researched online, bought a battery from a reputable dealer on Lazada and the tools needed. At a cost half of the Dell price and I had it replaced in 3 days.

Fees for cardless withdrawal coming
soi3eddie replied to digbeth's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Seems to be the case. I just read today that Thai lottery payouts will no longer be made in cash. Have to go into only a couple of certain Government issued bank accounts. At least Thailand is still ahead (or is that behind) of our countries banks refusing cash withdrawals. I withdrew a decent amount of cash here a few weeks ago over the counter with no notice and no questions. Just needed passport and deposit book. That would be impossible in the UK these days. -
Well it appears that the ship's plan is to arrive in Hua Hin on 17th April. One would have thought that the authorities and shipping line would have long since arranged all the procedures for a day in Hua Hin. From the article, the Thais seem to be at risk of missing the boat if they don't allow it to dock offshore and disembark passengers. Looks like it's a fairly expensive ship to travel on. The passengers could well drop a lot of Baht onshore to local business. If I was mayor or governor I'd be doing all things possible to attract this type of custom - yet what do we read? "The discussions focused on a range of important issues, including providing immigration services, preventing the spread of communicable diseases, and promoting boat tourism in accordance with government policy." If they were flying into an airport there would be no mention of "communicable diseases". As the ship will already have been in Koh Samui and then going to Laem Chabang, why should there be any issues with immigration? More info on the ship's itinerary here: https://www.cruisemapper.com/ships/ms-Europa-728?tab=itinerary#itinerary
