bamnutsak replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
Can you share any details? Where did you hear this? Direct, Non-stop, daily service? ex-SFO, or LAX? This was their most recent announcement... https://www.flightradar24.com/blog/aviation-news/airline-news/airline-routes/united-airlines-announces-massive-international-expansion-for-summer-2025/ Their SFO-MNL flight has produced good results. Direct Non-stop Daily service has higher yields - people will pay a premium direct flights. But USA-BKK (daily) requires at least three aircraft and extra crew. -

Well, musk told him at the Whitehouse Motors dealership "that it is just like driving a golf cart". That closed the sale. Funny how some folks are rebadging their teslas to avoid confrontations. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/p-HVFEsZo3I -
Tesla has a waiver in some states to sell directly rather than through dealers. Tesla, despite facing unionization attempts, remains an all-American automaker with its workforce remaining non-unionized, with no unions currently representing its workers in the US.

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
bamnutsak replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
He should host a daily game show on Fox Business, where he has two spinning wheels, one with countries, one with a percentage. He could have Maria Bartoromo spin the wheels. And voila, Brazil gets a 20% blanket tariff. -

Could Trump's plan fail in a spectacular fashion?
bamnutsak replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
your link...which indicates that trump "caved"? Trump reverses new tariffs threat on Canada after Ontario rescinds electricity charges President Donald Trump backed down from an extraordinary trade war escalation Tuesday that had threatened a massive surge in tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum and new tariffs on Canadian electricity. In turn, Ontario paused surcharges on electricity to US customers. After the back-and-forth tariff threats that sent markets sharply lower for a second day Tuesday, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Canada’s Minister of Finance Dominic LeBlanc and Ontario Premier Doug Ford said they would meet Thursday to renegotiate the free trade treaty known as the USMCA. Ontario agreed to suspend its 25% surcharge on electricity exports to Michigan, Minnesota and New York. President Donald Trump earlier on Tuesday threatened a 50% tariff on the country’s aluminum and steel, a sharp escalation in the budding trade war with Canada in retaliation for Ontario’s export surcharge. But Trump later signaled he would back down. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/03/11/business/tariffs-canada-trump/index.html -

Tiffany Flick, a former Social Security official, detailed what she sees as a “significant” risk of sensitive government data heading into the wrong hands under Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Flick, who worked at the Social Security Administration (SSA) for almost 30 years, outlined her concern in part of a federal lawsuit about the fraught takeover of the agency as DOGE officials seek to reduce federal spending. She became acting chief of staff to the SSA’s acting commissioner in January before retiring a month later as DOGE officials new to the agency took on greater and greater roles and influence, pushing out the previous leader of the administration. Her 13-page legal brief is the first in-depth public account from a government executive about how DOGE has gained access to sensitive information on its mission to decrease the workforce. Flick’s retelling was first reported by The Washington Post. https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/5186301-social-security-official-data-concerns/ The brief, worth a read... https://democracyforward.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/AFSCME-et-al-v-SSA-Flick-Decl.-3.7.25.pdf

TM6 and the May 1 Deadline: An In-Depth Analysis for Foreign Visitors
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There have been some oblique references to tracking visitors, and/or having them update their location, from within the app, when they move around Thailand. from the OP: I think, if the RTP wants to find someone, they'd go to the TM30 system first. But, as was the case with the Erawan bombers, they simply stayed in accommodations where a TM30 was not filed, that failed. -
