Thailand's New Digital Arrival Card Stirs Confusion Among Travellers
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they expect airlines to enforce this requirement, and the first point of departure, then they will need many, many more months to implement this. And what is the purpose? The TM6 was suspended for a reason - it was unnecessary and useless, and the TM30 system would be much more reliable in tracking down the wayward tourist. Of the six or seven reasons offered by officials for the TDAC, none ring true.- 118 replies

Trump Says Iran to Be 'obliterated' If He Is Assassinated
bamnutsak replied to Hawaiian's topic in Political Soapbox
I think he was flexing for Bibi? The majority of the Iranian population, 80+%, does NOT support the Islamic Regime. If 'obliterate' means what I think it means, murdering ~ 60+ million people seems like an over-the-top threat. -

I think over 70 uses the Fast Track option rather than the Thai national lines/desks? https://aseannow.com/topic/1336234-no-more-fast-track-immigration-arrivals-at-bkk-airport-for-bizfirst-class-passengers/page/2/#findComment-19174754 -
Have you filed your return yet? (You state that you had to obtain bank documents first.) What was your "assessable income" and tax paid? How did you pay the tax? Cash? QR code? What was the source of the funds that you remitted in 2024? How did you determine that some/all funds remitted were "assessable income"? Did the RD rep. agree with your determination?

No. My guess is that this CBD-dominant strain is probably, if at all, grown for CBD extraction. And Hemp is probably more efficient for CBD production? And the market for CBD-dominant flower is probably quite small, as is apparent by the lack of availability. As mentioned there are other CBD-dominant strains, and 1:1 strains, available in flower format here. Some of the other 'designated' landrace strains are available here.

On the plus side, one assumes that arriving passengers won't have to provide a hand-drawn map to their lodgings.- 118 replies

They're just cranky because a Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup since 1993. -

Kasikornbank: Verify SIM card name by April 30
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These were True SIM cards that the company claims were inactive, unregistered and purchased in small quantities from small distributors. https://trueblog.dtac.co.th/blog/en/rama-9-call-center-case-2/ In a photo of a larger bust recently, the massive haul of SIM cards showed them to be Three (3) (U.K.) branded. Probably a good idea to make sure your SIM card registration name matches your bank account name. -
Will DOGE Be Effective In Cutting Wasteful Spending?
bamnutsak replied to Hawaiian's topic in Political Soapbox
Hopefully, this won't be our last Social Security payment tomorrow. I filed my 2024 return last week, hope to get my refund before Elon impounds it. Top Treasury official retires over DOGE request for access to payment systems David Lebryk, a top Treasury Department nonpolitical career official, retired Friday after clashing with Elon Musk allies over government payment systems, a source familiar with the matter told The Hill on condition of anonymity. The Washington Post first reported on Lebryk’s departure, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Upon his inauguration, President Trump had appointed Lebryk acting Treasury secretary while nominee Scott Bessent was waiting to be confirmed. The systems control $6 trillion annually, distributed as Social Security, Medicare, salaries for federal workers, payments to government contractors, payments to grant recipients and tax refunds. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5119996-david-lebryk-retirement-treasury-doge-musk/ -

Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I couldn't find any details on this incident, most of the "articles" seem identical. It's not even clear it was a THAI Airways flight, just a When the national carrier is mentioned it is almost always as THAI Airways. And the Taiwan-BKK emergency door incident clearly mentions this was a TG flight, "A harrowing incident occurred on board Thai Airways flight TG637 when a Thai worker returning from Taiwan reportedly became delusional and attempted to open the emergency exit mid-flight" -
Thailand Launches 'Seal Stop Safe' Anti-Drug Campaign
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It looks like Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai needed some help getting his pole in the hole. "Seal Stop Safe"? Seriously? Infantile at best. And precursor outflows from Thailand. -
Thai Authorities Nab 17 Foreigners in Island Immigration Raids
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Seems like they could generate a list daily of those folks who overstayed, and their current location (TM30), push it out to every Imm/RTP officer, and have them check in on 10 or so each day. But I suspect that dealing with the paperwork/logistics/storage would overwhelm the system, so they just do their job once a month in a 'crackdown'. -
In cases like this, where does Immigration (physical address) think you live? Did you file a TM27/28 to change your address? Do your 90-day reports reflect your Chiang Mai address? Does your TM30 reflect your Chiang Mai address? I think the retirement extension is extremely safe, but if I had filed a wrongful report (TM47, TM30) it might be less safe.

American Passport Renewal Process
bamnutsak replied to djeetyet's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My best guess is that you can send your renewal package to the USEMB BKK via ThaiPost EMS or DHL. But for the return you still need to purchase the 100 baht ThaiPost Mart 'package'. Step 8: Mail all the items listed above to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. You must mail your DS-82 passport renewal package to U.S. Embassy Bangkok per the address below via one of the following couriers (Thailand Post and DHL) or else your package will be rejected. Please ensure that you receive a tracking number from the courier for your mailed package. Do not send packages to the U.S. Consulate Chiang Mai, only the U.S. Embassy Bangkok processes mail-in passport renewals. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/instructions-for-ds-82-processing-by-mail-and-online-fee-payment-for-u-s-citizens-residing-in-thailand/
