  1. Nobody will trust a US treaty again Pretty sure Native Americans already illustrated the fickleness of a treaty with the U.S. government. The U.S. government entered into roughly 374 treaties with Native American nations between 1772 and 1867, and many of these were not respected or were outright broken, with Native Americans and First Nations peoples still fighting for their treaty rights. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Number of Treaties: From 1772 to 1867, the U.S. government and Native American tribes signed and ratified approximately 374 treaties. Treaty Violations: Many of these treaties were not respected, and some were outright broken by the U.S. government.
  2. Regarding Android tablets, I've had good luck with Teclast. https://www.lazada.co.th/shop/teclast-th/ I think they fulfill orders now from within Thailand.
  3. If one can start a thread on this subject, they are hardly "Secret" bases.
  4. I guess the LCBO does not pay suppliers, like Jack Daniels, until the product is sold to a customer. Brown-Forman's going to have a receivables issue.
  5. 'Ol Sparky must be down for maintenance.
  6. Yes. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=fidelity&c=apps&hl=en I am not familiar with other fidelity apps nor how their log in/security processes work.
  7. Yes. Yes. https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/Checklist-for-DS-82-Online-Payment-2.pdf All is explained here... https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/instructions-for-ds-82-processing-by-mail-and-online-fee-payment-for-u-s-citizens-residing-in-thailand/ Step 7: Return envelope, pay Thailand Post Courier Pass Back envelope fee 100THB here. (If the page appears in Thai, you may use a translate function into English at the top right corner of the page.) Then, includes a payment confirmation email in your application package. An actual envelope will be delivered to U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and U.S. Consulate General in Chiang Mai for returning your document. The fee is non-refundable, and the mailing information cannot be amended after paid; ensure providing the applicant’s full name and accurate returning address on both shipping and billing address. The tracking number will be provided in a separate email from the vendor. You may trace your passport after the processing time has passed by using the tracking number here https://track.thailandpost.co.th/ NOTE: Prepaid envelope cannot be accepted when you are applying for a U.S. passport in Thailand. A Passport Card, for $3/year, renewal price, is a government-issued ID which is RealID compliant. It's been handy for me a few times. I'll stipulate that it is in no way a substitute for a Passport.
  8. First off, thank you for sharing your experience, I did not know that Fidelity would/could send 2FA SMSes to our Thai phone numbers. You should be aware that with Fidelity you can accomplish 2FA via their app. I use this option most of the time, when logging in on a PC. Fidelity also supports third-party authenticators. GoogleVoice works fine for me with Fidelity, inbound calls to Fidelity, receiving calls from Fidelity, and receiving 2FA SMSes. Just an FYI, you would dial 011 66 85 555 5555, or from a mobile + 66 85 555 5555. Long press the "0" zero key for the "+"
  9. He was a very high flyer. Maybe no way out for him other than suicide. And on the same day Big Joke was fired and denied a pension. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/general/40047148
  10. I think they've deported all the "criminals", so now they need to decide if they will arrest, detain, house in camps and physically move to another country undocumented persons who are not criminals. Crossing the border illegally is a civil offense, and these persons can be deported after judicial processes. Tom Homan is probably going to get axed.
  11. I use a FIDO key for many 2FA requirements, including id.me , login.gov and BofA The FIDO key is an option, not just the sole solution. I bought mine from SIAMBC on Lazada. https://www.lazada.co.th/shop/siambc Specifically: YubiKey 5 NFC FIDO U2F FIDO2 Yubico Security Key
  12. Maybe, possibly, certainly if is on one of the GDS's they use. You may also be able to look up any PNR if you have the six-character code and the last name. https://www.virtuallythere.com/new/login.html checkmytrip but you'lll need to create an account There are others. If pressed, and about to be denied boarding I might say that I plan to ticket that reservation, THL-NNN, as soon as I check in, I didn't want to ticket it until I was sure I could use it. If that failed I guess I'd buy a DMK-PNH on FD. BTW, Thais may use a booking, rather than an issued ticket, when applying for a visa.
  13. I can log in to id.me successfully without using a VPN.
  14. Yes, that appears to be the limit... 6.2. Select “Transfer Limit” – maximum limit is Baht 5,000,000/day, and press “Confirm” https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/kplus/instruction/dedit-card-limit
  15. Who said it was being "destroyed"? I said "removed".
  16. That's K BIZ (9for small businesses), you probably have K PLUS (for consumers) K PLUS What is the transaction limit for transfer, top-up and payment via K PLUS ? The initial transaction limit per day is 100,000 baht. Customers may increase the daily limit to a maximum of 2,000,000 baht (no daily limit for transferring to your own account on K PLUS). https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/personal/digital-banking/kplus/help/Pages/modify-transfer.html
  17. Ignore this, I was thinking of a different scenario. Of course, you could use any THL-NNN throwaway to satisfy the onward travel requirement.
  18. Seems silly to remove products from your shelves that you already paid for, but these are silly times.
  19. You could ask Bangkok Bank for a copy of the Credit Advice Receipt, which should show the origin of the funds. These are free, and some say they receive these via email. After your twelfth transfer, you can ask Bangkok Bank (foreign remittance desk) for a Credit Advice Summary document ( 100 baht) which lists all 12 qualifying foreign transfers, and is addressed to Immigration and festooned with garuda stamps and signatures. You can find samples of both of these by searching this site Google bangkok bank credit advice receipt site: aseannow.com
  20. Did you remit (send/transfer) any monies in 2024? Approximately how much, in THB? Did you transfer this to your named bank account in Thailand?
  21. Economy Flex, top-line comments say "Refund without a fee" Details say FULL REFUND PERMITTED. DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE TO BE SUBMITTED. ADMIN PENALTIES APPLIES When you did this how soon after cancellation did you receive your refund? No clue if you could use a throwaway for DMK-NNN, assuming you are arriving at BKK?
  22. A Passenger Name Record (PNR) typically includes details of the travel agency or travel agent who made the booking, including their contact information. It is possible that, for some reason, QR was not satisfied with the agency's 'history' or that they require an "issued ticket" rather than a confirmed reservation? Need a lot more detail, or need to hear of more similar experiences, in addition to "two lads I met".
  23. AFAIK, these scam call centers target 'customers/victims' in other countries. And they are NOT calling tourists visiting Thailand. "Thai Tourism" sounds a bit daft here. Yes, some people are enticed to visit Thailand as "tourists" who are then coerced into staffing these call centers.
