Note that the fee to send USD and have that converted to THB in Thailand is $55. Converting USD to THB at BBL NYC (at a lower rate) results in the fixed/sliding fee schedule. The process looks fairly complicated - judging from the Application for Foreign Remittance. I look forward to some here explaining how they use this transfer method. Do you snail-mail the application form? Or email it? https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Other-Services/Transfers/Transferring-Into-Thailand/Foreign-Remittance

I'd recommend making your wife the registrant. Upload her Thai ID and the relevant house book. Once the house is registered, you can use her account to file a TM30.

TIN number and how do I apply for one.

I'm a little surprised that a Thai government official would share a list of "expat-names" with you. That seems like gross misconduct. What prompted that? -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)
bamnutsak replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
Same same for A Study in Scarlet. According to a 1994 Salt Lake City newspaper article, when Doyle was asked about his depiction of the Latter Day Saints' organisation as being steeped in kidnapping, murder and enslavement, he said, "All I said about the Danite Band and the murders is historical so I cannot withdraw that". However, Doyle's daughter has stated, "You know, Father would be the first to admit that his first Sherlock Holmes novel was full of errors about the Mormons". Years after Doyle's death, Levi Edgar Young, a descendant of Brigham Young, and a Mormon general authority, claimed that Doyle had privately apologised. -

My doctor prescribed Monurol. Three doses, every third day. So Mon, Thu and Sun. Each dosage is 3 grams. Worked for me. -

Will Immigration take my bottle of duty-free away?
bamnutsak replied to pollyog's topic in Suvarnabhumi Airport Forum
Some interesting comments in this thread... https://aseannow.com/topic/1267519-bringing-in-duty-free-alcohol-on-my-ams-bkk-hkt-trip-but-doing-immigration-in-bkk/ this is the correct interpretation for STEBS bag usage.. for countries that subscribe to the STEBS bag program (most do, but not all and it’s not mandatory that any one country participate) they carry the “seal” so long as the bag - and the associated passenger - remain AIRside or in “sterile” status… once you exit that status and go “landslide” and thus are no longer “sterile” in terms of airport security, the STEBS bag no longer carriers any validity. Unless the OP's daughter can be assured she can retrieve and recheck bags and stow the Whisky in a rechecked bag at BKK, I wouldn't risk a potential confiscation just to save 1,000 baht. What is the exact itinerary and carriers? One ticket, or two tickets? What is the Whisky? Is it 1L? or 70 cl? An Aberlour 12 double-cask (70 cl) might be 50 GBP (LGW duty free says 51.79 GBP), which is available at Villa Market for 3,119 THB. I think duty-free on arrival at BKK - no longer available - did offer the sealed bag thing which did work for onward domestic flights. -

Top up your TrueMoney You can easily top up your TrueMoney via a wide range of channels: 1. Banking 1.1 Bind TrueMoney with your bank account (Now available only for K Plus) 1.2 ATM 1.3 Internet Banking 2. Merchant Shops (7-Eleven, Family Mart, CP Fresh Mart, AirPay Counter, TrueMoney Paypoint and True Shop) 3. Boonterm kiosk and TrueMoney kiosk Your TrueMoney account can hold a maximum of 30,000 Baht. https://support.truemoney.com/en/knowledge-base/top-up-your-wallet/ -
from the reddit link... FYI WIFi calling will still work internationally and if you have a newer phone (iPhone 13+, Pixel 7+, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy Flip/Fold4+) that supports dual active SIM and "backup calling" aka "auto data switching" you can use a 3rd party data only eSIM or a local SIM set up as "backup" for Mint SIM and just have Mint run over "WiFi calling" on your local/data SIM. That way, no need for international plan. Still, compared to UltraMobile at $3/month (UM is also part of T-Mobile), a Mint Mobile data-only plan at $15/$25 per month is a bit more expensive.

I tried the True Money wallet
bamnutsak replied to Delta Shift's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes, most of us probably top-up our TrueMoney Wallets from within the app, which links to your Thai bank accounts/mobile app. I saw foreigners paying at a 7/11 with a credit card, I guess I missed that announcement, the sign says minimum purchase 200 baht. Not sure if this is for all 7/11's? -
What type of card? Issuing bank? Visa or MC? How much THB did you take away? How much USD did you pay? In addition to accidentally choosing DCC, your bank/card may charge an extra fee (%, ranges from 1% to 3%), and (of course) you must factor in the 220 THB ATM fee. For some of us, ATM withdrawals are very cost-effective, we get THB, with no extra fee, at the daily MC/Visa rate, and we get the 220 baht fee reimbursed.

I think Bosch Legacy S03 will debut in March 2025, but this may be the last season. Welliver may appear in the Ballard spin-off, but maybe not given the contract kerfuffle. https://gamerant.com/bosch-legacy-season-3-first-look-image-exciting-overdue/ -
I think Mint Mobile radically changed how their international roaming works. They got rid of Uproam, and replaced it with Day Passes... https://www.reddit.com/r/mintmobile/comments/1afrovo/minternational_pass_and_retirement_of_uproam/

My Favorite THC Delivery Method in 2025. What's Yours?
bamnutsak replied to HugoFastor's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
You can attach a dry-herb vaporizer to a bong. Not something that is portable of course. I mix dry-herb vape - the best option to enjoy the nuances of higher grade flower, edibles (from EdibleLand) and vape (disposable/510 cart). Edibles give a nice body high, while flower/carts give a head-high. -
