  1. In most news articles announcing appointments to the Council of State the words "under the Royal Command" are included along with a reference to publication of appointments in the Royal Gazzette. Per the Constitution, the King is the "head of state". The most recent were Wissanu Krea-ngam and Arkhom Termpittayapaisith. Wissanu is the defacto head legal man in Thailand.
  2. Use Google... 3. Yes. https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Cards/Be1st-Smart-Card Visa. MC, SmartUnion.
  4. SIM needs to be activated in the U.S. So must of us have it mailed to a family/friend for activation and onward remaining to us in Thailand. Once you have a U.S. mobile number you can register for GoogleVoice.
  5. I've been using a Ugreen CD217 GaN 65 W USB-C (one output) for a year or so with my Thinkpad. Works well. I bought it on Lazada.
  6. https://www.ultramobile.com/paygo/ SIM is $13 on eBay. You can port into UltraMobile. They are part of T-Mobile.
  7. Recent thread here... https://aseannow.com/topic/1340038-how-often-do-you-take-tolerance-break-is-it-even-worth-it-lol/
  8. You can get the same for $3 /month with UltraMobile PAYG, includes 100 minutes, 100 SMSes and WiFi calling.
  9. Works for me on a VPN. Broncos v. Chargers about to kick off.
  10. At 1 baht/minute I'm not sure you can do better? OK, Google Voice is free, and people in the U.S. can call you. And you can receive OTP SMSes.
  11. Thanks for this report. So their run-rate is ~ 50 per hour.
  12. This one gets filed with High-Speed Rail, Education Reforms, Drugs Crackdown, Elimination of Burning Season and an end to Bangkok's Traffic Woes.
  13. What day did you return? How were you informed? Verbally? Or were you given a "Receipt of Notification" with a "Next Report Date" of Dec. 28, 2024?
  14. Old habits die hard, and the fact that there is now a "law" in a country where "laws" are selectively and randomly "enforced" means little to those being "disciplined". File this one with the "law passed to eliminate seasonal burning". "Have you stopped beating your children?"
  15. AFAIK pork is part of the basket of 51 items that are "price controlled by the government", as they have been for a few years, via the Price of Goods and Services Act of 1999 and managed by the Central Committee on the Price of Goods and Services. This was extended through to June 2025, as of June of this year.
  16. I think Chamchuri Square Imm only does 90-day reports for BOI people/companies. You'll have to go to Chaengwatthana. Consider making an appointment; there are some slots available on January 2 & 3 - you can file up to 7 days "late" (in person).
  17. Maybe "FTT"? But I confess to being a bit confused by your use of terms.
  18. CW. Understood. I think most agree this change, the online reporting window reduced to 7 days, was made recently. No issues if you think otherwise.
  19. A few months ago, for ONLINE reporting...
  20. Step 1 arrive Step 2 deathly ill Step 3 today Amazing Thailand.
  21. Failing to attend meetings where she might be challenged only makes her look weaker. Nepotism isn't a good look.
  22. "To start..." Ah, yes, it's always easy to start, but how do you finish. I remember the "big, beautiful wall" that Trump was going to build, and have Mexico pay for it. That was a bit of a farce. Again, the devil is in the details. Can you define "criminal aliens"? Are you of the belief that ALL undocumented persons are "criminal" because you feel that their method of entering the country was "criminal"? Do "criminals" have to be convicted of a crime? Or just suspected of having committed one? Where will you send these criminals? How will you transport them? By plane? Where do they get the aircraft? Who flies it? A "plan" usually involves more than one sentence.
  23. AFAIK the NCAA has rules governing transgender athletes. I guess, for those who feel strongly, you can petition the NCAA to change their rules to be more in line with your beliefs. https://www.smith.edu/admission/studygroup/docs/NCAA-Policy-on-Transgender-Student.pdf https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2022/1/27/transgender-participation-policy.aspx
  24. What is the "plan"? Trump and Miller have said a lot of things, but have they offered a "plan", actions, timeline, goals/objectives, budget.
