So it needs to be collected out of band - kiosk at the airport, more likely a mobile app. No clue why 300 THB is the "right" amount? Why not 1,000 THB?

You have, at most three local ATM/Debit cards? No need to carry cards, just use the Bank's mobile app and pay via PromptPay. Obviously, if you need cash carry that one ATM/Debit card to the ATM. AFAIK, Thai ATM/Debit cards do not have 2FA. Most banks here have an option for notifications of use, email/in app/SMS. Most mobile apps here have options for managing limits/usage.
