Rejected for the second time
rwill replied to Aforek's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
About a year ago in Ratchaburi I filed my 90 day online 4 days before it was due. It was rejected. When I went in to file it at the office I asked why it was rejected. He told me I didn't give him enough time and I needed to do it online right at the 14 day mark. So just because it says you can file online up to that date doesn't mean the person who is doing it will honor that. The last few 90 days I have done online take the Ratchaburi office about 4-5 days to get the approval. So they are slow. -

Lot's of food where the sauce is served in a separate bowl. Rice dishes with pork, chicken, or duck on top. Pad thai the pepper flakes are usually on the table or on the side of the plate to mix in. Bowls of noodle dishes where the seasonings are on the table to add to your taste. (fish sauce, sugar, pepper flakes, etc.) Some places the basic soup is pretty bland without seasoning it. Even Som Tum, papaya salad, can be made without or very little peppers if you tell them first. Then there are dishes like pork chops or pork steak that come with a little salad(usually cabbage) and fries.

Get some Bayer Quantum. Leave a drop beside the kettle. If they ants come eat it they will kill off the nest. Takes a day or 2. At first you will see more ants as they come to feed. You can leave it on a small peice of cardboard to make it easy to clean up afterwards. It's like a syrup.

Best to check if the medication you need is available in Thailand. It is illegal to import medicine into Thailand without a license. If you send a small package it can make it thru customs without being checked. Has to be less than 2 kilos and less in value than 1,500 baht. However they are talking about charging VAT on packages less than 1,500 baht. If they do that may mean small packages will not make thru anymore. Even vitamins are considered medicine here. As someone else already mentioned you can easily buy syringes here at most pharmacies.

Public encouraged to stay vigilant as COVID infections rises
rwill replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I know of at least 3 people who have recently got covid. So it is spreading a lot right now. A friends Thai wife got it after going to a private hospital for a checkup. (they think that is where she may have been exposed but it could have been anywhere) He now has it too. A close friend of ours that owns a restaurant has a nephew that lives with her. Yesterday she told us he has covid. He works in the local Tessaban office and most likely got exposed there. I told her she has probably been exposed to it too then. But she is in denial. Which I guess may mean the wife and I have now been exposed to it also. I guess we will find out in a few days. Over a year ago the wife and I got covid from our niece while taking a vacation in Chiang Mai. It wasn't that bad. Like having a bad cold for a few days. -
There are lots of transliterations that have a non existent 'r' in them. 'T' also. Such as Ratchaburi has no 't' in it.

You can get insurance to just cover accidental injuries. Thai banks have debit cards that provide accident insurance. The cards cost around 1.5K/year. They pay about 20K per incidence. There is an age limit to coverage though, I think 70 for Thais. They also have accident insurance through Chubb which will cover the same things but with higher limits(like around 80K). I think it was around 6K/year when I was doing it for my wife. It is also possible to get policies just for cancer too. Thai insurance companies will want her to go to a hospital and get an examination and blood tests done before issuing the final policy. Their goal is to find as many preexisting conditions as possible. To limit what they cover. Also when you do have a claim they will ask for permission to check your records. Then if the doctor had asked your wife about previous problems and she gave information to the doctor the insurance company will add more exclusions or cancel the policy. They also ask you what medications you are taking and will do exclusions based on that. Like if you take any cholesterol or blood pressure medications they will exclude anything to do with heart attacks and strokes.
