  1. As others have said, all you need is your passport and bank account book and of course your debit card. It only takes a few minutes, not days.
  2. I would be shocked if Pita does get the needed votes. Not that I don't want him to be PM. I just think I am more realistic about what will happen.
  3. I've never had a problem getting annual extensions. The original visa was much more work than the extensions in Thailand. I would say to avoid getting an O-A visa so you don't have to worry about the extra insurance requirement. There are thread on the forum here about how to apply for an O visa after you arrive in Thailand. The hardest part with that seems to be opening a Thai bank account which you will need to get extensions. If you already have a Thai bank account great. I also find it easier to just leave 800,000 baht in a separate account to use just for immigration. Also you do need to think about medical insurance here. If you don't have any pre existing conditions right now it would be best to have insurance already. All the insurance companies here will try to exclude everything they can. It also gets quite more expensive the older you get.
  4. Thank goodness no happened to be right there when it happened.
  5. Some weird thinking going on in these people's heads.
  6. The question is how could the hotel staff allow this?
  7. Last week I received a message from SCB saying that as of 4 July they were starting facial recognition. So yesterday(the 10th) I went in to a local branch and told them I wanted to do the face scan. They called the head office and were discussing with them. Had me punch in my pin code. Then about 10 minutes later told me they would send me a message the next day. They never did scan my face. I thought maybe they were going to send instructions on how to do it on my phone. This is what they sent to me: "Your request for waiving verification by face recognition has been approved." So I guess I don't need to scan my face for larger transfers. In a way I would like that as it seems more secure.
  8. He definitely should be renting it out with the tenants paying for the utilities.
  9. Except there would have been about 20 of them on the balcony.
  10. At least there were at about 100 Safety First banners posted around the site.
  11. I have 4 different Total tools sets. The hammer in this one feels like it weighs a couple of ounces.
  12. Sata makes good quality tools. You can find some sets on lazada. Here is one example: Sata tool set The tool site linked above also has Sata tools. But it looks like you can get them cheaper on lazada.
  13. I have bought some Total tool sets. Some of the things are ok and some are like toys. The hammer in the set was so light you would have a hard time driving anything in.
  14. Look for orphanages and/or government places for handicapped people. See if they would be interested in the items. This is one in Ratchaburi. Perhaps you could use it to search in your area. สถานสงเคราะห์เด็กพิการทางสมองและปัญญาราชบุรี
  15. As mentioned before you can put some blocks under the head of the bed to raise it an inch or two. My wife got some good relief from taking probiotics, get a good multiple strain brand. There is this tumeric drink for sale on lazada: (I didn't search for the best price) Curma Max I would also say that if you do use some of the acid reducing medication only use as long as needed. Don't use it chronically. There are also lots of videos on youtube if you search there. Most mention the stuff already said here.
  16. Yes that was my mistake as corrected in another earlier post in this thread.
  17. Did you look at the photo? It is a permanent curb in the median to keep people from crossing the road there.
  18. From the linked article: Samart recounted that he had just picked up Pissamai from her workplace and was taking her home along the counter-flowing route. He stated that he didn’t foresee a car turning into the petrol station and thus could not evade in time when the accident occurred.
  19. It could be a tarantula. There are a few varieties in Thailand. A photo would be helpful.
  20. They see it just fine. It just signals them to acclerate even more.
  21. They are busy sending photos of the aftermath to their friends.
  22. One time my wife took me to a Wat and the monk was telling our fortunes. When it came to my turn he said something bad was going to happen to me next year and I would probably die. So to prevent it we had to do this little ceremony where I laid down and he covered me with a cloth like I was dead and did some praying and then brought me back to life again. That was supposed to change my future. It made my wife happy. And it must have worked because I am still alive a few years later!
  23. When I'm driving under the elevated roadways I see lots of cracks in the support columns. Specially the Y shaped ones. I know a lot of them are probably cosmetic. But it still makes me worry.
  24. Maybe it was a mating ritual?
  25. If I found photos of myself dressed like that online I'd want to kill myself too.
