  1. He's probably looking for people to say ass wiper.
  2. Any competent mechanic here will run away in fear when they realize you have a spirit on your balcony.
  3. She needs to exit Thailand using her british passport and then reenter using her Thai passport. She might need to pay an agent to get a valid extension first. Cheaper than 5K/month.
  4. Carbon credit trading does nothing to reduce carbon emissions. It's just a money grab. How about fining countries that burn their land down every year?
  5. Just ignore the millions of others that do the same thing and lose.
  6. You don't need a yellow book if you don't care about having it. Immigration will give you a residence certificate. It should be free. But I have seen on the forum that some people have been asked to pay for it. It now has your photo on it. I don't recall if I had to bring a photo in with me last time. But I would be ready with on just in case.
  7. Because they actually use the Thai language on Thai ID's. This is the official Thai document for her name change. Williams in Thai is about in the middle in a little bolder text.
  8. When my wife went to change her last name to Williams some other Thais had already used the name. She would have had to get permission from those people to use the same last name. I told her just to use a different character for the last 's', ษ, and that was ok as no one had used that spelling before. I read an article several years ago that you can tell chinese families who had become Thai because the last names are a lot longer as they couldn't use ones that had already been taken.
  9. From the linked article: "The ThaiRSC reported in January that as many as 939,713 road accidents were reported in Thailand last year, up 4.7% from 2021. Road accidents killed 14,737 people, and injured 924,799 last year, ThaiRSC said. The committee reported that 536 deaths and 7,885 injuries were among foreigners. Following the Songkran holiday this year, during the ‘seven deadly days‘ from April 11 to 17, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) revealed that there were 2,203 road accidents, 2,208 injuries, and 264 deaths during this period." For the year the average is 40.37 deaths per day. For the 'seven deadly days' the average is 37.71 deaths per day. So perhaps they should call it the 'seven less deadly days' And we know the figures are much higher as they don't count those who make it to the hospital but die there.
  10. Two T's in the3 bread. Depends on where you are from. Pita - Wikipedia
  11. Even though the picture is blurry the numbers on them do not appear to be the winning ones.
  12. Except the new constitution was set up just to provide an illusion of democracy.
  13. It's worth a visit. But you want to go when the water levels are low. Hiring a guide is the best way to see it. They know where all the good formations are located. I did read a few years ago that they are building a dam down river and when completed it might be covered with water all year long.
  14. I saw a skink eating a jing joke at my house. Do you have skinks around?
  15. My dad had to pay about 15,000 to see the doctor a couple of lab tests and some medications. 5,000 of it was just to see the doctor for 15 or 20 minutes. My point is exactly that Samui is much higher.
  16. When my family was visiting me we were on Koh Samui. My father was having problems and we took him to Bangkok hospital on Koh Samui. They charged 5,000 baht just to see the doctor, total bill was much higher. When we got back to my home in Ratchaburi I took him to Bangkok hospital there. It was only 500 baht to see the same type specialist.
