Republicans begin walking back campaign promises
AgMech Cowboy replied to Peabody's topic in Political Soapbox
Yes, Thank You, Etaoin. I see only an article written by a very biased NYT rag. I don't doubt that everything President Trump campaigned on will have problems in Congress or with the Budget Office. It was an obvious hit piece. Me... I'm retired and live in Thailand. I'm not really worried about it or Social Security. -
aseannow.com/topic/1342769-liberal-meltdown-thread/?utm_source=241106-17 You can copy and past this link into your browser to review if you don't remember the trash talk there. I am now an official Trump voter. It's the first Presidential election in which I've voted since 1992 (certainly the first since I came to Thailand on a work contract in August 1997). I would have voted against Trump in every primary of 2016 had I been in the US, but he won the nomination and his opponent was Hillary Clinton and I wasn't going to vote for her (If Jim Webb had won the Democrat nomination, I would have strongly considered him). There was no way that I would have voted for Joe Biden in 2020. I've observed his political carrier most of my life and knew I did not want him as President. There was a clear reason why he never won the Party's pick in all his previous primaries. Now, to the point of this post. There is absolutely no reason to get on this forum or any other and gloat. I'm tired of the viscous, foul rhetoric that's been posted over the last 5 plus (or was it 8+ ) years. I am not surprised to see it from Democrats. They take their lead from the foul mouthed media like MSNBC and slanderous media like CNN, ABC and even ESPN. There is just no reason to do it. Grow up!!! The best thing now is that there will be a person taking the oath of office in 2025 who will uphold the law, especially the ones regarding the US borders. He'll also do everything he can to stop the wars ongoing toward Israel and the Ukraine. He will keep his promises (and NO, I'm not talking about the lies that the MSM say he said by twisting his comments into hearing something that he DID NOT SAY). You just make matters worse by gloating. We are citizens of a country that has in the past had a very positive, good moral and common sense compass for over 200 years. (Sure we could make for some really rude tourist, a product of the victories of WW2). I remember the good banter in politics between my parents (Democrat until Jimmy Carter) and my brothers, Aunts, Uncles and friends. It was never the vitriol spoken today. So please, Trump supporters, cool it. (And all you Trump haters, calm down).

The UN, Soros and the new world order is behind all the migration. The UN pays people to migrate. The leftist elitist people in governments think diversity is the way to go, so they sponsor people to immigrate and then wonder why they don't assimilate to become good British, European or US/Canadian citizens. We need to stop the UN from continuing this immigration idea and the "new world order".

@OnTheLash I married a young Thai girl 23+ years ago. We bought a house 3 years later. #1. You're purchasing an asset. If you put both the house and land in her name you've handed her all of your housing future (unless you're very well off). #2. I've no idea about the cost of attorney's fees, but 19++ years ago, I wish I'd have hired one who's really able to negotiate plans for your future. The test for his quality is next. #3. Put the land in your wife's name, which you already know. Put the house in your name (find an attorney that recommends that and knows how to do it) and make a lease on the land that will enable you to use it until you're 100+? years old. Seriously! My wife, with our son's urgings/recommendation, took a loan against our house & land for 1/2 the appraised value and signed a sales document over to them if we were not able to pay-off the loan in 1 year. We can pay 10% interest per year for 3 years and stay in the house. Had I put the house in my name and a rock solid lease agreement, she could not have done that. Now I'm retired and just had this deal thrown in my face. (and she is actually a smart girl, but many Thai women have this strange attitude. I grew up with nothing, I can live that way again, no worries).

How to Squander Money and Ruin Our Reputation in this World
AgMech Cowboy replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
It's all part of Biden and the democrats new world order, sponsored by Bill Gates, George Soros and the other billionaires who sponsor leftist ideas and idiot politicians. (I don't want anyone to 'suffer' in their closet, but I'm tired of having their preferences shoved at me and in my face. Thankfully Thailand doesn't do that.) -
IMHO, that is the best way to manage the purchase. I move my money in using WISE.com. The credit cards can't even come close to the X-rate when converting a Thai purchase to GBP or USD. (I've got one card out of 3 that doesn't charge an international purchase fee, but I've decide to quit using it. Too expensive).

Steak should be cooked with garlic melted into butter.
AgMech Cowboy replied to Gobbler's topic in Western Food in Thailand
@GobblerWho sales it that cheap in Thailand??? -
@EVENKEEL Nailed it. 🤣 You and I agree on many things. I grew up with wooden framed windows. I can think of anything good about them.

Yes, this is a sad reality... Wait, what??? Are the Thai girls getting fatter... No, but the Pattaya bar girls maybe. My wife of 23 years is no longer 41 kilos, but she's still in the 45-46 range. She's not big on exercise, but she watches her weight and what she eats. I on the other hand have exploded since being forced into retirement in 2015. I have cut back and I even ride the cycle 2 or 3 time a week, but the cortisol fat just won't leave me. She hates to look at me. 😢

The 2 stratetic errors of the Democrats.
AgMech Cowboy replied to swissie's topic in Political Soapbox
She's not 'black'. That's one of the bigger lies. -
Thanks @CharlieH we need to remember the spirits are around us all the time. Some of you don't believe in them, not everything is imaginary. (And soon we can celebrate Halloween). 👍 Then Happy All Saints day to all.

Illegal to change lanes on a bridge?

Wow... I got 'caught' at that same spot in 2012. I, too, did not cross the solid line. I, also, paid 500 baht. -
Why Doesnt "Me Too" Apply to Democrats?
AgMech Cowboy replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
I see you have the same problem that I do with AN not indicating your post was made...🤣 I've gotten to the point where I hit the "Submit Reply", copy my reply, close the page, then reopen it to check that it was posted. Then I just move on or past my comment in if it's not there. -
Why Doesnt "Me Too" Apply to Democrats?
AgMech Cowboy replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
You hear little, but it's out there. The problem is the leftist publications are more abundant than the center or right leaning media. You've got MSNBC, who reports absolutely no truth, only hate. Then you've got CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN who parrot many things said on MSNBC. Opposite of that is Fox news with minor input from NewsMax and One America News, none of which are shown on any of the cable or other TV outlets in Thailand. -
@riclag I didn't say I was in favor of any of the women listed. I was merely stating people who have the "qualifications" to be a President. Joe Biden lacked any capacity in the executive area of abilities. Personally, I see the original poster's view point and you can look at Condi Rice's lack of success in dealing with the Middle Eastern countries, for the most part. Yes, they fawned over her with gifts, but a woman in the ME is at a great disadvantage, but I contradict myself. Just look what Golda Meir did in Israel or Indira Gandhi in India. I'll not say who my favorite would be, but your point about Sen Duckworth is very accurate.

Well, you hit the head of the nail with that statement. I should have read more in you post before I commented earlier; however, look back at the "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher. You cannot deny she was up to the task... Personally I wouldn't want a couple of the people I listed in an earlier comment, but at least they'd have the qualifications and the seriousness to do the job correectly and not be controlled by handlers.

That's a poor generalization. There's a fool born every minute. (I've been one several times, but it usually involved women). Just look at all of China after their "cultural revolution" or the continued movement to communism in the form of socialism in the US. Look what Venezuela did to themselves. Look at all the tourist on the Spanish coast who fall victim to the scammers there. I could go on and on, but I won't the subject doesn't warrant it.
