Will you say the same when you find out he could have actually got the job done in a month and a half but as he was enjoying himself so much he decided to spin the job out to 6 months?

changing O-A to O based on retirement
Salerno replied to thasoss's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Although rarely asked for that is the law (or equivalent in foreign currency - although not sure why 20K keeps getting quoted as it's 10K for single, 20K for family) so a pretty dumb move not to have it on the off-chance you are asked to show it. -

Apart from the ID card being a Thai card (which apparently he is refusing to show you), the first digit denotes various "classes" of people; in the case of the guy you are talking about it would start with an 8 to denote "Foreign nationals who are living in Thailand permanently or Thai nationals by naturalization". Pointless just asking him what his ID number is as if he knows this he can just make it up. -

Overstay more than 90 days
Salerno replied to Milton85's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Unfortunately I believe you are screwed - 20,000 Baht fine and banned for 1 year (assuming it's less than one year overstay and you don't get caught before the airport). You can also say goodbye to the option of an Elite Visa and potentially have issues with other countries on seeing the stamp in your passport. -
If you have a 5 year licence yes (no need for an IDP). 12 months and yes, each visit.

Get a retirement "visa" (permission to stay based on retirement, based on Non-O to avoid compulsory Thai insurance), for marriage your wife will have to be in Thailand for your extension (including a likely home visit). Depending on how long she intends to stay initially, you could do marriage and then ditch it and go retirement when she heads back to the States.

"The new chairman said he will help the army and police crackdown on drivers parking illegally, not using bus stops and straying from assigned routes. It has also been announced, much to the surprise of baht bus drivers, expats and tourists that standing in the baht bus or on the back of the baht bus will be banned. People who violate this law can be charged up to 3000 baht. It is unclear if the fine is the responsibility of the driver or the person standing on the back." ^ From 2018 https://thepattayanews.com/2018/07/06/new-head-of-pattaya-baht-bus-council-to-enforce-the-rules-bring-new-rules-such-as-no-standing-on-the-back-of-baht-busses/

Yes and yes. -
Personally I wouldn't put my trust in something so potentially dangerous if I had any doubt whatsoever over it's authenticity. Just curious, do you have a licence for one?
