  1. Only mentioned mainly with regard to tours, of which there are plenty, but most of the time I prefer to do my own thing. For example, one trip we did was Erawan Falls (well worth a visit BTW) the timing wasn't the best IMO, by the time we climbed to the top we only had about 15 minutes before we had to head back down for lunch (don't think the tour expects people to do all 7 levels), then we wasted close to an hour and a half more than lunch actually required - if we had a car we could have enjoyed taking more time getting to the top and chilling more when there, and wouldn't have been stuck so long in a pretty poor restaurant area (call me a cynic but it may have had something to do with the shops trying to sell tourist <deleted>) before heading onto the next attraction. Other trips all pick up from the accommodation too so personal transport more of a preference than an out and out necessity. As mentioned from the resort I posted, you can walk into town via the bridge, 20- 30 minutes easily with a gentle stroll.
  2. Yes, it resets. The date on the slip in your passport is irrelevant whether it fell during the time you where out of the country or not. If you reported online previously you will still get a reminder email at the wrong time which you can ignore.
  3. Without the specifics of the flight path I see little in that article that refutes my post, there is no suggestion it went against the wind, what it is suggesting is it had more control than typical weather balloons which lends weight to the allegation it was a spy balloon rather than a weather balloon as claimed by China.
  4. ^ that is the plan from the looks of it. There where actually media reports when it was initiated. One being https://thepattayanews.com/2022/11/09/thai-immigration-bureau-launches-online-visa-extension-starting-in-bangkok/ and a couple from another Pattaya based "news" outlet that can't be linked or quoted on here. One article that can't be linked offered a reason for extension based on retirement being excluded. Quite farcical; the issue most have trouble with - local IOs interpreting the rules as they see fit - seems to be why they are excluded instead of using an online system as a way to enforce the actual rules consistently ????‍♂️
  5. Third party cookie issues I would presume i.e. you are probably blocking them.
  6. For example, before swapping out parts in a desktop or laptop, unplug all power cables, remove battery (if removable) then hold power button for 15 to 20 seconds to complete discharge. Same deal with TV, it discharges any residual power.
  7. I don't think they do, if they did, the footage wouldn't be recoverable as stated in the article you linked to.
  8. Some people enjoy watching instructional videos or critiquing previous game play in comfort, or so I've been told.
  9. "PRC government surveillance balloons transited the continental United States briefly at least three times during the prior administration and once that we know of at the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time." https://www.defense.gov/News/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/3288618/senior-defense-official-and-senior-military-official-hold-an-off-camera-on-back/
  10. Enjoyed my stay at Felix River Kwai Resort a few years back (pre-covid), rooms starting at 1576 Baht around your dates from the looks of it. Beautiful gardens, right on the river, if you don't mind walking you can get into town by actually walking across the bridge (resorts on the other side of the river) and there's a shuttle (not sure what the deal with it is as we just walked all the time). Downside, couldn't get English channels on TV if that is a consideration (possibly not an issue now or for you). Plenty tours can be arranged but better if you have your own transport. Link to location on Google maps.
  11. Times have changed, countries are too worried about PR nowadays and the military lay down the law re bringing the service into disrepute and the potential of diplomatic incidents when overseas.
  12. Personally, yes. Leave it on the pillow before heading out (and before they make up the room obviously).
  13. Sorry, not specified in the Act and I can't remember ever seeing any reports of anything other than a 2000 Baht fine. Have even seen a couple of people saying they don't bother and just pay the 2K when they do the annual renewal (not too sure I believe them to be honest - given the online and mail options not sure why they'd bother leaving themselves open to potential immigration problems regardless of how unlikely they may be).
  14. Excellent, so familiar with the process already. Because if you set up a brand new VM, with all the settings set to correspond with your sister's location, then if the sites are using browser finger printing that's what it will be based on - there would be no existing data to base it on. For all intents and purposes you would be someone in Wisconsin (or wherever) running Win 10 with an unusual sleeping pattern (or working night shift) ???? The issue is the data collected over a period of time leads to the "finger print". Hence trying to clean it up manually could be a pain, cookies, settings, canvas etc. and easy to slip up. If you use a VM it's basically a clean start but you will need to ensure you use it and only it for mission critical websites e.g. it will look like you've moved back to the States so you don't want to slip up. Use it for work or whatever it is causing you problems and go back to the standard Mac for here, YouTube, social media etc. especially services you have to log into so as not to open up other tracking avenues that could compromise the new finger print. No worries.
  15. There are various ways to combat the techniques used as mentioned in the link I posted and plenty other links out there. Until you try to access the sites in question you can't be sure they are even using browser finger printing. A virtually full proof way would be to set up a VM on your computer purely for using when you need to use the sites causing you problems and setting it to be local time, location etc. with your sister's location. It wouldn't carry across tracking from your current set up. https://www.macworld.com/article/668848/best-virtual-machine-software-for-mac-2022.html#:~:text=Virtualization programs such as Parallels,as Linux – on the VM.
  16. Sorry, it's a cross(y) I have to bare noticing things like that ???? I was thinking maybe gas bottle as mentioned by @Black Ops but also thought given the layout gas would be outside coming through the wall for safety.
  17. Salerno

    Snakes in garden

I've never had the chance to try it, allegedly quite tasty (probably comes done to the spices etc. used).
  18. Just curious, what was the reason for the bottom right "door" to be taller than the others?
  19. Ran out of time to edit ^ Interesting, the above is what I've been reading on here for years, but just had a look. The 90 days reporting requirement comes from Section 37 (5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522. The Section 76 of the Act (dealing with fines) states: Any alien, alien, who fails to comply with the provisions of Section 37(2),(3),(4)or(5) shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with and additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with. https://www.samuiforsale.com/law-texts/immigration-act.html ????‍♂️
