While I would imagine that being in poor health or having no money is a big factor in misery, I think there's likely another big cause in grumpiness in old-age. I think some people spend their lives focussing on more physical things, and when those things go away in old-age, those people become miserable. Someone who spent much of their youth concentrating on drinking, f*cking and fighting, for example, would probably become pretty depressed once they get too old to do those things. I think someone who focusses more on things like family, friends, and helping others, can still access these things once they get older. Perhaps, though, these types might not end up living in Thailand in their old-age.

With the way many Thais think about foreigners, they likely just think you are rich and they deserve your money anyway.

It isn't really a thing in Thailand. Plus it's much more of a thing in America. In England it's generally seen as a flat 10% regardless of service.

People don't tip in Thailand. Only foreigners who think they have to because they have to back home tip in Thailand.

Mostly it's people projecting their own problems onto others or trying to compensate for their own shortcomings, trying to make themselves feel superior by putting others down. There's a lot of "rage therapy" to be had online. For some reason, Thailand attracts oddballs, and they just love to take any opportunity they can to show that they're "more Thai than you" or the one "good farang" around. being in Thailand seems to bring out a lot of insecurities in some. What I find very interesting is how so many people appear to be wealthy and successful, yet still carry around so much resentment and prejudice. It's really a wonder that with all their success they're still lacking in so many areas and still want to lash out at others.

You are definitely confused. I was talking about Delta. Anything you have to say about some other variant at some other time means very little to the point I was making.

You don't need medical qualifications to understand scientific/medical research that explains that the new variants are milder than the previous ones. It's really simple.

The believe that foreigners were high risk vectors of Covid was valid. It was the foreign visitor who brought the diseases to much of Thailand. This was demonstrated by the Ko Samui infections. The Europeans imported the disease, and then infected other Europeans who returned to Europe with the infection. They also infected the local hospitality staff, who fortunately stayed in Ko Samui. This model of transmission was also observed in Phuket. With Europeans infecting the other visitors brought the infection back to their homelands. And of course there were the Chinese who left a trail of infections. The disease was not homegrown and was imported. Not at all. Once the virus was in Thailand, there was zero reason to think that all foreigners have covid. You're being ridiculous. Also, both foreigners and Thais brought the virus to Thailand. The big break out of the variant that started the big spread in Thailand (I think it was Delta) was brought in by Thais coming illegally from Cambodia. You're completely wrong about everything you have written.
