  1. I find shorts and t-shirt to be too hot most of the time. Even wearing shoes is often too much. Jeans would be torture in this climate. I wish it could be done, as foreigners often look so awful in shorts and t-shirt, but it just isn't happening. I certainly miss wearing jeans, hoodie and trainers, but they just aren't compatible with Thailand.
  2. You cannot take someone saying "same same but different", a phrase which means similar, and quote only part of the phrase, "same same", and then claim that the person said "same same" meaning the same. You are misrepresenting what they said. It's akin to taking someone saying "I do not", quoting only "I do" and trying to claim they said they do do something. They didn't say "same same", they said "same same but different". The two phrases have different meanings, and to claim they meant "the same", when they clearly meant "similar" is being dishonest.
  3. You clearly don't understand what he wrote, as you have misquoted it as "same same" at least twice now.
  4. He said "same same but different", which is not the same as "same same". I've already pointed this out. Go back and check.
  5. A: He isn't claiming that. B: He isn't claiming that. C:: He didn't write "same same".
  6. The only real question is how did the posts end up in the car? Presumably the car impacted with the truck and not the other way round. So either the truck pulled out and the car was going so fast that it went straight into the back and hit it head on, or the car slammed into the back of the truck probably not seeing the posts (or perhaps not seeing the truck at all). The car certainly wouldn't be travelling at a safe distance from the truck to make contact with the posts.
  7. Well, he actually said "same same, but different", which means similar. One could perhaps argue that a Lithuanian is similar to a Russian, due to their geographical proximity and shared history.
  8. The ladyboy was going to leave, so the last resort was to murder her and pin it on the boyfriend, hoping that he would pay them compensation?
  9. I'm sure if they had it explained to them, they would say that it is needed because foreigners are dangerous and immigration needs to keep an eye on them.
  10. Quite true. I ran out of three section masks that have a pretty decent seal recently and wore the surgical type for a few days. I could feel the increased irritation almost instantly. Sore throat, coughing, all increased.
  11. Can you "note" the opinion of the writer like this? Shouldn't it be "suggests ASEAN NOW"?
  12. If the news is to be believed, many (maybe most?) monks in Thailand are not real monks. If feel sorry for Thai people, whose kindness seems to be so often abused.
  13. Sorry to sound a little sceptical, but, not having to work and getting everything for free?
  14. Is that even being worked on? I haven't heard a peep about it. Surely it should be relatively straight forward? It's been out for seven months. Or are there stock-piles that need to be used up?
  15. So they're going to do away with masks or they're absolutely never going to get rid of masks? There seems to be both things being said right now!
  16. I was actually really surprised online sales were allowed. Most street based businesses in Thailand have a "mafia" element that facilitate price-fixing and prevent competition. I guess this is not (or no longer?) the case with lottery tickets. Does anyone know why the lottery has been singled out for this sort of "gouge protection"?
  17. And rape and murder are completely natural. Doesn't mean they're good though. ????‍♂️
