  1. Brownout perhaps? Low voltage at night because of higher loads on local transformer? Use a meter to measure voltage at an outlet when the issue occurs. Just a thought. Good luck.
  2. Help her or ignore her but don't judge her; that doesn't help anyone. Very bad form. 😒
  3. If you want a bullet-proof extension, if possible use the 800k timed account deposit (for at least three months before extension application) and get a letter from the bank a day before going to immigration. The monthly income route is fraught with uncertainty depending on your immigration office.
  4. Any attorney here can make a will. Mine cost 15,000฿ which also covers execution of Will at death and his office archives a copy. PM me if you want details.
  5. I did four years ago. A house. Seller demanded it. No problems at bank. BKK.
  6. Agreed. I've had both USA and Thai wills for several years. Be sure to update them when necessary.
  7. Your air of superiority and self-congratulations on this thread is breathtaking. I'm betting that your very best love relationship has always been the one you have with yourself. What an amazing display of narcissism. 😂
  8. Agreed, but somebody's feeling might be hurt, and that is simply unacceptable to AN.
  9. It's easy to summarize these articles, the same every day of every year : "Way too many <deleted> idiots driving around the country killing other people and themselves"
  10. How can you make such outrageous claims? It's universally agreed among both tourists and expats here that the roads are as safe as the nurseries in the Kingdom, especially in family-friendly Pattaya. Seriously though, thanks. You made me chuckle. In other breaking news, the sun will go down tonight but come back tomorrow morning. During this crucial time driving without lights make the roads slightly more dangerous.
  11. Anker brand. Can buy from flagship store on Lazada.
  12. I do it for exactly the same reasons you do. Cost has nothing to do with my choice. At Huahin (not Bluport) it's a fast process anyway if the papers are all in order; just follow the checklist and apply. No sweat.
  13. Indeed, it's commonly called 'sewer gas' or 'swamp gas' and in mines 'firedamp'. In the 1800's it was used for streetlamps powered by sewer tanks under the streets. Needless to say there were frequent explosions. Of course we've all heard about cow farts and as youngsters we lit our own farts with a lighter (yes, it did singe our asses). Gross I know, but we did it gleefully. All the uses of Methane! Butane and propane are close cousins having two or three carbon atoms respectfully, bonded to hydrogen; Much less volatile than Methane.
  14. Methane much more likely cause than hydrogen sulfide.
  15. Wonder how gas cost compares to hospital cost when he "really raks up".
  16. It's a way of talking about the need for redundancy. The whole saying is: Two is one and one is none. It's a common meme in critical application technology.
  17. If you spend your time staring into toilets you're sure to see some sheet pretty often.
  18. My Thai Lady scans the receipts before we leave Makro too. I respect her for that and don't complain. BUT... occasionally we spend 15 minutes correcting a 3 baht error. I just can't be concerned about a few baht either way. Life is too short.
  19. Understood. I lived my life in America until I moved here. I was always aware that there were small fringe groups with crazy ideas, but the numbers that support that useless man far surpass any understanding I ever had. The tragedy is that such a group, ~30% of voters, was able to elect the scum once. But if done again I am forced to indict all Americans.
  20. My greatest fear is that they won't wake up. The Cheeto being prez again would be a tragedy. What bothers me the most however would be the twice proven fact that those that worship him, though a minority), will vote and the rest don't care or are just too lazy to vote. Either way it means I can no longer relate to most of the people in America. I never regretted moving to the Kingdom 6 years ago, but now it seems like a prudent move. I'll return in April to sell my last hard assets in America. I'll keep my credit cards and a bank account, but otherwise pulling up roots for good. I'll make my last stand here.
  21. Only if the scan is put through OCR first to change from an image to recognizable text. Like Adobe and other PDF editors there is an OCR option that you can choose to use with Thai language. OP : If you want to PM me and I can probably process it for you. Handwritten Thai may not process well though.
  22. Thank you. When these threads come up I always post the same as you. I figured it out years ago from a post by the late, great @UbonJoe. Then I did it myself several times when renting a house. Never had any pushback from the IO. The second half of the TM30 is filled by the 'Possesor' of the property. For rentals that is the renter themselves. For some reason this simple answer just keeps being forgotten.
  23. The shortest words in English : Is it in?
  24. Obscure topic but I'll bite. There are many trees and even some nice swinging vines in the Kingdom, but NEVER trust any ropes or bungie cords made here, or in China. Wear gloves too. Be safe out there Bob.
  25. I recognize her. That's Ruby Redpalm and her five sisters. Good times.
