    It is not a "western union" scam. You were contacted by somebody, who told you to transfer money to them, and you did, through western union. Nothing to do with the transfer company, only your bad call / judgement.

    In Jomtien, Nowz Drugs, not only are they the cheapest pharmacy (if you ask for generics) but very helpful, and yes, they deliver.

    If this was the case, then there was no settlement for the accident, as the victim did not receive the funds. I would go after the insurance company first (through a lawyer) and the company would have a lot more clout to get the funds back from mum, because it is in their legal interest to see the settlement paid to the actual victim.

    For those of you dissing realtors, do you realize there really isn't any other option to finding the home that you need here in Thailand? And newnative, you are absolutely right, some of them work very hard for their smallish commission, IMO.

    You do realize that people from all over the world fly into Thailand from hundreds of different countries, right? Do you think anybody would or could dictate where they need to fly from, to enter Thailand on a valid visa? Enjoy your trip!

    Actually, if these ultra-thin sheets of gold were actually worth something, even in bulk, I suspect the temple may actually encourage it, rather than dissuade people from doing it.

    Shop mak is bang on, no way anybody can give you solid advice without more details! But on the face of it, it seems illegal.

    So, the Gov't did not learn about the value of loss of tourists from the Mall shooting. And can not seem to realize the value of lost tourists from endless violence by Win drivers in full view of tourists from all nations. The day is soon coming when all we will hear at the Thai airports are crickets!

    Yes, beer, and I too, would love this type of system for coffee, great idea! Perhaps a money-maker for those entrepreneurial types out there?

    Just to add, yes, it seems to be almost packed all the time, and with quite a higher class of people (mostly wealthy Thai). It also has a unique feature which are a few different flavours of in-house brews, and you can try any or all of them by purchasing a card and then pouring as much as you want of each type (as little as 20 baht for a sip).

    Probably the most confusing article I have read this year! Pearls come from Oysters, not Clams. Chiang Rai is about as far from the sea/ocean as one can get, so where in Chiang Rai would he have "found" it?

    The only one that makes any sense to me, is Pattaya Air, because the fares out of Utapao are so ridiculous, it's a wonder anybody flies out of that airport!

    You need to think about the feeling you get, when you give stuff away, versus selling it for a pittance. I put stuff in a box, and after a month or two, put it outside my condo, and by gollee, it's gone within minutes! I compare the satisfaction of knowing somebody who needed the stuff, getting it free, vs my having a few hundred baht, and there is no comparison. What goes around comes around.

    PLEASE make sure you are wearing a very good mask, which will prevent any of this toxic crap getting into your lungs.

    Common problem with old laptops, either use it plugged in, or get a new battery. Even better, get a new laptop, they are dirt cheap nowadays.

    The grey is an endangered species, so I would be careful, although beautiful birds, who can mimic what you say flawlessly, and wonderful pets, I would go with the ringneck, and forget about what others are saying about high maintenance, they really are both lovely pets, to be loved and cherished.

    In my GF's family, we have Porsche, Purse, Punchy, etc. It's funny of-course, but if we had a Toyota, I would leave her.

    Kenya, Mombasa Beach, a nightclub where two ladies actually physically fought over me! Would never consider moving there. Thailand is a lot tamer.

    Ok, but how do you know what you have to pay? And the fine was 300 because the actual cost was 30 which could have been paid during the 7 days, IF she had known about it, which they don't bother to inform you about!
