I walked into the Jomtien immigration on Friday, it was the absolute LAST day for me to report (without a fine) 7 days after reporting date. They only took my passport, I waited about 15 minutes, and got my passport back with the 90 day slip attached, all seems to be in order! NO forms to fill out, or submit, only the passport required!

Actually, Jomtien now has a number of "night markets" which sell food, drinks, etc. at very reasonable rates, and some have music too. Quite family-friendly. IMO Jomtien is a far better place to visit with family than either Central Pattaya or Naklua, etc.

Pay 1 million and get half back here, or get married in the states for 1 million baht (actually below the average wedding cost) and get nothing back, in fact, if it goes south, then lose your home/car/etc. No brainer. Thai girls are mostly happy, if you keep them happy with moderate sums of money/luxuries. American girls leave, whether or not they are happy, it's just what they do (50% divorce rate presently).

"Old Reg" simply didn't play his cards right. He should have gotten on a dating website like ThaiFriendly, put in a reasonable age for his search, and he would have met plenty of older women who also want company, and of-course, if a little financial stability is available, why not?

My God, the amount of people on here advocating violence!!! Have none of you ever heard of TALKING it out??? Just sit him down, and tell him it's better for everyone if he moves back to Bangkok or wherever! Offer him some financial incentive if necessary, you can get him a dirt cheap condo anywhere in Thailand for 4-5k. Tell him you'll pay his rent for a few months, until he has a job and is stable. Try that first, before all the threats and physical stuff you are being advised to do, please. We (some of us) are not animals anymore.....

As scubascuba3 mentioned, I would try listing on facebook marketplace, bahtsold, etc., first. If you don't have the time or inclination to do it yourself, contact some of the top selling agents on facebook and negotiate what you feel is a fair deal, for just finding you a genuine buyer. They you would need a lawyer anyway for the legal documentation and transfer etc., so perhaps find a reasonably priced one.

If they need money, why not consider exporting to China / Korea? There will be plenty more strays to fill up the new center later.

I tip ALL service workers, and 99% of the time, they are extremely grateful and you can clearly see the happiness in their faces! And I am SO grateful for being in a country where a "mandatory" 20% is not required and I can tip according to the level of service I receive!
