Dipped below 800k for money in bank method
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Reports of some immigration offices accepting double the amount requirement for marriage. That is not the case for extension based on retirement. -
Retirement visa after overstay ban
DrJack54 replied to thaibreaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Indeed. That would buy him another 60 and even 30 more with an extension Plenty of time to season funds if Jomitien require 2 months seasoning. My guess is the friend will use an agent. Plenty of good ones in Pattaya. -

Retirement visa after overstay ban
DrJack54 replied to thaibreaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For Pattaya 4500-5000 normal price for the bank account. Assume was Bangkok Bank. So now he needs to check with Jomitien if they still require the 2 months seasoning for the Non O retirement. That will determine DIY or Agent from visa exempt entry to non O -
Dipped below 800k for money in bank method
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm pretty confident since I realized I had another account ( different bank) with 8k in it. The error was dip of 1500b for one day. I'm going to build the 8k account ulp and for next extension (Nov) will provide 12 month bank statements, bank letters etc. -
Dipped below 800k for money in bank method

I opted for that as the only asset in my name is the Bank account with the 800k. Everything else eg Car, Real estate etc is in her name. -
Dipped below 800k for money in bank method
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The 800k that I keep in Kasikorn savings account has a debit ATM card. My partner keeps the card in her possession and I transfer 120k a month into that account using WISE from my Oz bank. She then transfers 100k into HER account. Sounds crazy but I'm changing from money in bank method to income method. Reason being is preferred option as I need that monthly transfers to live off in Thailand and the bonus is I don't need to have a Thai WILL to enable her to access the 800k when I move along. -

You first type don't waste ..."time on internet listening to experts" Then proceed to type your advice. BTW: If you read the thread you would be aware of fact OP had appointment at Canadian embassy Wednesday (yesterday) Waste of time. -
That would be waste of time. Agents will only do hand holding for extension based on marriage. Agents money is made from extensions based on retirement.

OP, suggest you ignore some advice in thread of wife using ATM after death. If you are only concerned about the 800k going to wife/partner then you could consider changing to income method. I transfer 120k each month and as soon as it hits funds then transferred into partners account. If it's more than the funds in the bank eg cars, condo etc then 100% make a Thai Will. If married check with your bank if wife can be added as "silent signatory" to the account. I know it's possible however check with bank if this is an option. BTW: you can set much higher ATM limit. Even higher if ATM transfer to another account (same bank) K Debit Card: Withdraw up to 200,000 Baht per day, transfer up to 1,000,000 Baht per day, and purchase up to 500,000 Baht per day at VISA stores K Max+ Debit Card: Withdraw up to 200,000 Baht per day, transfer up to 1,000,000 Baht per day, and purchase up to 500,000 Baht per day at VISA stores Cardless Withdrawal: Withdraw up to 30,000 Baht per transaction and up to 500,000 Baht per day K-ATM Transfers: Transfer up to 200,000 Baht per day to a KBank or interbank account Kasikornbank also offers a K-Express Cash card that allows up to 10 withdrawals per day with no fees

Entry to Thailand
DrJack54 replied to pantsonfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You keep asking similar questions. No one can give a guarantee for visa exempt entry with your history. You could consider an agent for "fast tract" meet and greet at Bangkok airports. They assist folks with extensive history in Thailand. A METV would provide a stay of up to 9 months and is a good option. That visa is obtained in home country or country where you have permanent residence status Here is thread discussing agents for "safe entry" at airports. https://aseannow.com/topic/1345519-safe-entry-services-bkk-airport/ -
Non-Immigrant O (Spouse/Dependent)
DrJack54 replied to Jeff_'s topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First up (my guess) you do not have "VOA" you have visa exempt entry. 60 day stamp. Your best option to open a bank account in Bangkok (with visa exempt) is to use an agent. You mention "without agent" At very least you would require a "certificate of residence". That can be obtained at CW. Only up to recently that was not possible at CW without having done a 90 day report. The bank account is the issue. Obtaining a non O based on marriage with 400k in Thai bank account in your name only is not difficult. In hindsight if you had obtained the non O outside of Thailand then that would have made opening a bank account easy. Here is thread outlining process. https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/ BTW: If you require more time to organize you can apply for 60 day extension to visit wife. This thread outlines process. https://aseannow.com/topic/1327691-60-days-extension-to-visit-family-restrictions/ -
Dipped below 800k for money in bank method
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No offense but who cares. I'm well aware of all option for living elsewhere. Been to Japan MANY times. I live in Thailand. The plan you outline for yourself seems sensible (for you) -
Here is thread discussing financials. Vientiane soon will be eVisa. Savannakhet the same. I would suggest 400k in bank required. Previously not. https://aseannow.com/topic/1336197-need-recent-info-on-vientiane-90-day-single-entry-spousal-visa-requirements/ Edit: error in my post. The OP is inquiring about non O department for his non Thai wife..PM sent to @mankindmatt5

Retirement visa after overstay ban
DrJack54 replied to thaibreaker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, yesterday I contacted an agent. Just now received a reply. Agent can easily obtain non O + extension with that history. To me that implies friend can do the process himself if he wants to. -
Plenty. BTW after reentry visa exempt (60 day stamp) you could obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife. That gives you time to organize funds. For non O application funds only need to be in bank on day of application. The non O provides 90 day stamp. In last 30 days with funds seasoned for 2 months obtain 12 month extension. Process outlined in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1328106-marriage-visa-from-visa-exempt/ Extension to visit wife here https://aseannow.com/topic/1327691-60-days-extension-to-visit-family-restrictions/

She would need to enter Thailand on a non O . The non O retirement or marriage can be obtained from visa exempt entry. For dependant spouse she needs to obtain the non O outside of Thailand. Visa exemption VS retirement visa
DrJack54 replied to dani305's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What you outlined would work. Personally I wouldn't exit last day also would most likely make mini holiday. However your plan would work.
