  1. Why changing or why covering both methods
  2. That's why I asked. HH not so easy for a border bounce. My pick would be few days in Saigon. From a Bangkok airport. On return visa exempt consider options to cover any request from airline at departure for onward flight.
  3. I had "pending" online report (CW) for 2 weeks and went past my due date and into 7 day in person window. As a result did the report in person 5 days into Grace Period. If you skip it and eventually have rejected notice you most likely fined 2k
  4. Seems that you did not do the monthly transfers from Aug 24 (your current extension) I would have done it differently. Continued the transfers and 2 months prior to Aug 25 have 800k in Thailand bank account also continued the transfers up till application for next extension. Currently I'm doing the reverse to yourself and doing both methods simultaneously. Satisfying money in bank and will show 12 transfers at my next extension.
  5. No need to ask immigration office. The only "income letter" from you embassy would assist with income method. Nothing provided to assist with "money in bank method" As mentioned UK, USA, AU do not provide income letter along with possibly some other embassies.
  6. OP, out of interest for others what was the actual plan for exit point to kill off the non O-A. Land border or .....
  7. You should look into more. It was the Thai side that wanted the embassies to "verify" the incomes. That's impossible. I think USA uses the word affidavit, Oz refer to it as "statutory declaration " ....turns out that can only be used in Australia. For example sale of real estate and embassy here can "verify " signature etc on legal docs.
  8. Much of that is scaremongering. IF that was to eventuate then most likely other options would be available. In recent time LTV, DTV etc. Make the switch to non O and chill. Your financials are in place. Bank account etc. Good move.
  9. That is an issue for many. Good you have excellent alternative. Clearly you are better off with a non O with the process you outlined in OP.
  10. Are you obtaining extensions from non O-A based on retirement or marriage. Retirement requires insurance Marriage no insurance requirement
  11. Guess that's up to him. He might have better options for insurance or even self insure.
  12. I have always been aware that Phuket immigration has not required insurance for extensions based on retirement where the non O-A was issued prior to certain year. The post I replied to from @chiang mai I took on face value as he stated that has never needed to obtain insurance from his long ago non O-A. As I have stated many times. ...post assistance to the forum or avoid posting
  13. Surely they would accept 12 monthly 65k+ transfers shown by 12 month bank statement.
  14. There are two methods to satisfy financial requirements for extensions from a non O based on retirement and marriage. One is "funds in bank method" The other is "income method" Income method can be used both with embassy letter and without.. The only issue for folk without embassy letter you need to show 12 months of transfers already in bank account to do extension based on retirement (or marriage) UK, USA, AU citizens use income method. This is discussed often. In fact I'm currently changing from funds in bank to income.. In November I will show immigration that I BOTH satisfied money in bank method and ALSO 12 monthly transfers. Ongoing will be using income method. Meaning to maintain funds in Thai bank account. My reason (off topic) is to have zero funds tied up in Thailand to avoid providing WILL to make things easy for long term partner.
  15. That is because the funds had been in the account for some time which will also be the case for OP
  16. Here is thread outlining experiences of health insurance requirements at various offices. It would seem that only Phuket allowed any grandfather deal. Certainly Hai Hin requires insurance regardless of when non O-A was obtained.
  17. That's completely up to the immigration office. Even for simple 30 day extension to visa exempt entry some immigration offices made folk wait till last week or two. Jomitien was telling folk to go away and come back with few days remaining.
  18. Yours has been grandfathered hence no insurance requirement. Can't recall the date your non O-A to have been issued for that to be possible. Think 2018 Someone will post the year.
  19. That is correct and the common reason folk wish to kill off the non O-A. What you outline in OP covers the process. Hua Hin may require a TM30 and possibly a lease. You will also provide a TM87 (simple form)
  20. Hard to tell but guessing you are referring to a non O-A. That visa is valid for one year and granted you can obtain a 2 year stay in Thailand. After that you would need to obtain a new non O-A or obtain 12 month extension. The requirement to obtain extension are exactly the same as extension from a non O with the added burden of health insurance. Also a non O-A can only be obtained in home country or country where you have permanent residence. Are you perhaps referring to Multi Entry non O retirement which is not widely available. Not even sure if Savannakhet issuing them . Previously they did. Non O with extensions is best option for ongoing living in Thailand and even moreso if your embassy provides income letter. UK, USA, AU do not and that makes up significant number of expats in Thailand Edit: cut/paste from @Tod Daniels from recent thread.. "Neither Savannakhet nor Vientiane offer year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on being over 50 (retirement) nor do they offer a year long, multi-entry Non-O based on having thai children."
  21. Thread closed. Aggressive unhelpful posts from OP
  22. Was in middle of reply to explain exactly what the implications are of dropping below 400k and how immigration would know. Trashed that reply due to your snide replies to forum.
  23. That's a very rude reply. You stated ..... "This amount needs to be seasoned at the bank 3 moths PRIOR to the extension and 2 months AFTER the extension." That is clearly incorrect and the poster was helpful in pointing out your error. As I have done along with others
