  1. First up if it ever happens it would be temporary. Ignore clap trap from the media confirming it as a given..
  2. Repeat...you now state ... "Was pretty awful but once the first one is done not too bad". Also seems you obtain extensions in Bangkok. CW should not require witness. Other immigration offices in Bangkok may. Your thread assists no one without which office you use.
  3. When you renew passport information the visa (non O) is not transfered. The information pertaining to the visa is noted in new pp. You need to be aware of requirements to renew TDL, such as COR etc
  4. So what are you actually asking about. Your rumor about change to extensions based on retirement is irrelevant along with comment on taxation.
  5. Can you list them. Sure there is expensive PE Visa. There are non Ed (not really long term) METV good for 9 months
  6. Seriously. Immigration don't hammer out anything. You are posting nonsense based on various web sites such as news releases and eg Siam Legal. From your OP "I have it on good authority that this will begin on July 15." Now "hammering out details"
  7. That DTV chit chat is from Siam Legal. Wait till the government starts any discussion rather than sites on the web
  8. Knowing which immigration office you deal with is hardly your address. Many offices in Thailand have their own guidelines and "way of doing things" Post limited information (especially re immigration office) receive limited answers.
  9. Current thread running. Thread closed
  10. Some off topic posts removed
  11. And I outlined options in first reply. So you stay in Thailand on annual extension and are not aware of overstay penalties. "Delayed my departure" is cute way of saying go into overstay knowingly
  12. Be aware that for application for non O requires 15 working days remaining on permission of stay
  13. In the example you posted the count would start day of application Feb 15
  14. CW accept accounts that do not have a bank book. If you plan to obtain a non O based on marriage from a visa exempt and subsequent extensions you are making simple difficult by using SCB. You do not need to show funds came from abroad for marriage. When are you planning to do this? For extensions marriage the funds only need to be in bank for 2 months plus under consideration period. After that they can be used. Surely the interest earned cannot be reason for SCB account over convenience I use Kasikorn at CW (retirement) and do the bank letter, small deposit on day of application and 12 month bank statement day prior (can be up to 7 days prior) Banks at CW open at 8.30am
  15. Did you even read my post. I'm typing this from Bangkok. I can apply for eVisa to Vietnam after this post.
  16. What! When did you ever read of immigration doing what you outlined. Your post has zero credibility
  17. The OP is renting. He did not purchase condo. Also do not post anything in Thai language
  18. You had one year (according to you) to organize departure within your current permission of stay. Irresponsible
  19. So with all this time (1 year) you ask about 7 day overstay. Oh please.
  20. I omitted one option in my first post. He could (maybe) do border bounce for another 30 day visa exempt entry. OP is thin on information
  21. What visa type. If tourist visa it was used when you were stamped in. You have temporary permission of stay. Overstaying 7 days would be 3500b You pay on departure at airport. Not a big deal however you will have overstay stamp in pp To avoid that you could attend immigration and application for extension will be denied and granted 7 days to leave. It's not an extension. It's a get out of dodge. Assume you have used 30 day extension. Obviously you need stay VERY low when enter overstay.
  22. No. 90 days after First application for extension. After that extension has nothing to do with 90 day count . Note: there are few weird offices that do 90 report when you apply for extension.
  23. I would suggest that majority of retirees have established strong connection in Thailand, be that partner of things such as real estate etc Changing countries is not a light switch
