  1. It does depend on the individual office. In any event doing it at 75 day count vs 89 day count will save you one report per year. Couple of minutes. Best policy (imo) is to do the report as soon as possible.
  2. No. If you receive a queue ticket then you will be seen. After lunch at some point they may stop issuing tickets. I do everything on cell phone. No issue. This is now required. Do you mean 90 day reporting.. With appointment for 90 day reports at CW go to far right que lady and show appointment. She will via walkie-talkie check with io and you are seen next.
  3. So the extension was refused. No offense but cannot understand how the incorrect passport info was not noticed. Embassy income letter is very simple statement Includes name of person passport number, where pp issued and date of issue. Your friend didn't check that! Also how did that occur. So when does current permission of stay end (expiry shown on stamp) If the friend had some days remaining then why the io would bring up e-Visa, I have no idea.
  4. No idea what you are asking. Visas for Thailand such as Non O visas etc are now obtained via the e-Visa platform. Your friend was attending immigration for annual extension. That is unrelated to e-Visa. Presumably he has current permission of stay. What was end result? Did he obtain 12 month extension? The only thing I can think of that would make the immigration officer talk about e-Visa is if your friend did not satisfy the requirements for extension and the io was outlining means to obtain a new Non O
  5. I used "stamp transfer" as descriptive term. When he attends immigration for "stamp transfer" the first thing that is entered in new pp is a stamp that the officer fills in. The replaced passport # , type of visa etc. After that is done i can't see requirement to carry both passports. Just the new one and print out of e-Visa should be sufficient. Perhaps someone that has obtained new pp and has a DTV can post first hand experience. OP, you may find this thread useful. https://aseannow.com/topic/1335168-what-happens-when-i-renew-my-passport-before-my-dtv-expires/
  6. You are missing the point. The advice is to do the online report as soon as report window is open. That takes out of play the fact that some offices vary in 7 day prior vs Up till due date.
  7. What you plan re visa exempt to Non O (marriage) is fine. The process is outlined in threads such as this one. https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1342849-tourist-visa-exempt-then-apply-for-non-o-based-on-marriage/ There are a couple of immigration offices that do not. Not sure if Samui is one of those. Someone will advise with first hand experience. Did you consider obtaining the Non O prior to entering Thailand via the e-Visa process. Yes that's not a problem. You could also consider 60 day extension "to visit wife". Same fee 1900b Assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only.
  8. Please explain long stay options for example Vietnam in comparison to Thailand. As just one example. Or still better live in India or China ongoing vs Thailand. Seriously.
  9. What do you mean..."times are changing" The previous norm was visa exempt 30 days. If that changes back to 30 then that would be expected. Back to back on going visa exempt entry via air is an old chestnut. Nothing new there. Border runs visa land are no longer limited to 2 per calendar year. Granted currently best option is to use agent border bounce company. Outlined earlier in thread.
  10. Spot on. My last online 90 report approval (CW) has the next due date. I put that date in Calendar and also the date two weeks prior (window open). Then do the online report on that window open date. So yes 75 day reporting.
  11. Two months prior 800k baht. Your wife will need to attend immigration with you. Outlined in this attached thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1294679-changing-marriage-extension-to-retirement/
  12. Are you asking about extension of permission of stay? If so yes 2 months prior to application for extension. OR Are you asking about application for Non O visa based on retirement. In other words are you asking about 12 month extension or obtaining a Non O visa. No such thing as Retirement Visa
  13. Plan you outline will be fine. What I don't get is the desire to obtain the new pp outside of Thailand. You mention idea of entering Thailand on existing pp then at some point exit and during that time obtain a new pp. What's wrong with obtaining it in Thailand and doing stamp transfer at immigration.
  14. Visas are not renewed. You can obtain another Non O-A visa. That visa is obtained in home country or country where you have Permanent Resident status. Why the Non O-A? Have you considered a Non O + subsequent annual extensions. That option does not require insurance.
  15. What you outline should be fine however is there an urgency in obtaining a new pp? True that immigration will see that current pp has pp # that matches the e-Visa print out. Given a choice, I would enter on existing pp and obtain new pp in Thailand and then at some point attend immigration for stamp transfer. The reference to pp replaced (number etc) will be entered into new pp.
  16. Which immigration office? Here is form some immigration offices use (eg CW) It lists required docs at bottom of form. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6 Be aware that some offices eg CW are requiring bank book and photocopies to check financial compliance. You can do transfer of stamps at any time. Could leave it till when you attend immigration eg for TM47 etc
  17. Nothing making you come to Thailand. Fact is Thailand provides option of visa exempt (previously 30 days) or SETV (60 days) Both can be extended by 30 days.
  18. Everything thing was fine after the changes to TM30 requirements were made, as outlined in this attached thread.... Then some genius came up with notion to sync TM30 with online 90 day reporting. Now it's a big mess.
  19. Exactly. If it was designed to be a permanent change then could have scrapped the SETV at the same time. Clearly was a temporary move along with being trial run to access impact
  20. I'm sure that the OP has checked out agents in Phuket. Discussed in the (oldish) attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1245445-is-there-a-good-visa-agent-in-phuket/
  21. People have been suggesting/using DTL for ages. Fact is the Hotel is required to do a TM30.
  22. It's simple: 90 day report is required for stay over 90 (continuous) days in Thailand. If you exit Thailand then the count (clock) starts again when you reenter. Date of entry is Day 1 of count.
