Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
On one hand agree with you, especially given fact that SCB previously had branch at CW. On the other hand if someone intends to deal ongoing with CW the best solution would be to change banks. Certainly bank letter and bank statements can be obtained up to 7 days prior (CW). Previously I attend Bank (Kasikorn) on day of application. These days the banks can become more bust for the letter. As for deposit into the account to update and show activity there is generally no que. I obtain the 12 month bank statement and bank letter day or two prior and 100b deposit on the day and ask teller to photocopy last page. -
Retirement extension
DrJack54 replied to Negita43's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A lease should not be required. Especially in your example of living in wife's property. If you're handy to immigration you could consider doing TM30 in person. You would need copy of her Thai ID and bluebook. For others not married and doing visa exempt to Non O retirement immigration should accept a TM30 and explanation that you are in process of looking for property to take lease on. Doing the online TM30 is outlined here. Also has video guide. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/Register/Register.html -
Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The bank letter should be acceptable up to 7 days prior. Some offices want a bank book update on day of application. I also do a deposit to show "activity" If funds have been in bank "for some time" then correct the funds do not need to be shown as international transfers. No definition of "some time" however seen reports of eg 4 months being sufficient. 4 weeks = Nup. -
DTV Extension (particularly Jomtien Immigration)
DrJack54 replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Having DTV in that category, thinking your extension at immigration office is more straight forward than soft power categories. If you end up doing extension at immigration rather than exit/reenter please post a report. Many would be interested. -
@NanLaew.... Here is quote from current thread poster @Pumpuynarak using Korat... "Well i renew my '0' retirement extension at Korat IO and never complete a new TM30, the old one is always accepted." And you state a new .... "Because it's a new extension and it's a Korat immigration requirement to get a new TM30 for a new extension"

Thai notary for pension income verification
DrJack54 replied to Shwaman's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
MANY USA, AU, UK etc guys use income method. I'm currently running the money in bank and monthly deposits in concert. Next extension I will show compliance with funds in bank and also show 12+ months of transfers. From then on just use income method without need for embassy letter -

Application for NON-O retirement (Chiang Mai)
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, that's referring to "bank letter" confirms you are owner of account and balance on day of issue of letter. I note CM saying they want that on day of application (typical CM) Here is thread to check your package of docs. https://aseannow.com/topic/1321855-visa-exempt-to-non-o-in-chiang-mai/ In that thread I posted link to another thread that has good post from Red Phoenix and also from OP. https://aseannow.com/topic/1297092-non-o-visa-retirement-purpose/ Don't forget the TM87 form. -
Retirement extension
DrJack54 replied to Negita43's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's not only Korat. Suggest anyone applying for annual extension to make a TM30 days prior to application. I provide TM30, lease, and most recent TM47. Overkill. Definitely -
Yes it comes up when entering immigration site: https://www.immigration.go.th/ Mentions phone numbers. In any event, thinking folk relying on reminders are setting themselves up for trouble. As soon as you have a TM47 receipt enter next "Due Date" into your cell phone calendar. Obviously if you exit Thailand and reenter you do your own calculation. Enter date + 75 days = window open.

DTV Extension (particularly Jomtien Immigration)
DrJack54 replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, good report from this guy (Phuket) however you have seen that as you posted in that thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1350107-destination-thailand-visa-extension-requirements-posted-on-immigration-website/#elControls_19642048_menu My guess is that most folk are doing border runs. Is your DTV online work? -

Your pp is biometric. Perhaps post pic of damaged area. Bottom left is biometric. Read by computer. Does your pp have reentry permit? -

Border Run Report Cambodia to Thailand and Back
DrJack54 replied to Yagoda's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
You have the benefit of 2 subsequent posts from OP. His title could have been better and even moseso what his friend actually did. I'm still not sure what the SA friend actually obtained. However.... From point 6. "Then go to the Visa Agent within a few days with your paperwork from your employer, pay the $400 for work permit and Visa Extension." Perhaps the friend obtained a Non B e-Visa from Cambodia. Then entered Thailand via DMK to activate it. Don't know. Don't care. -
Border Run Report Cambodia to Thailand and Back
DrJack54 replied to Yagoda's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
What's that mean "visa change" "Only do the Thailand in and out"? At a guess your SA, friend did a border bounce to obtain a visa exempt stamp. That is not a " Visa change" Where does DMK airport come into it. -
Using aseannow it's easy to keep up with the quirks at most officesoffices from first hand reports. For example this one re Korat. https://aseannow.com/topic/1351684-retirement-extension/page/2/#findComment-19592154 The guy complaining (off topic) about Korat (i quoted) appears had issue with his TM30. As per majority of cases most likely poorly prepared. You have first hand knowledge of Korat by all means offer constructive advice.
