Emergency travel document question
DrJack54 replied to 248900_1469958220's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your pp is biometric. Perhaps post pic of damaged area. Bottom left is biometric. Read by computer. Does your pp have reentry permit? -

Border Run Report Cambodia to Thailand and Back
DrJack54 replied to Yagoda's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
You have the benefit of 2 subsequent posts from OP. His title could have been better and even moseso what his friend actually did. I'm still not sure what the SA friend actually obtained. However.... From point 6. "Then go to the Visa Agent within a few days with your paperwork from your employer, pay the $400 for work permit and Visa Extension." Perhaps the friend obtained a Non B e-Visa from Cambodia. Then entered Thailand via DMK to activate it. Don't know. Don't care. -
Border Run Report Cambodia to Thailand and Back

What's that mean "visa change" "Only do the Thailand in and out"? At a guess your SA, friend did a border bounce to obtain a visa exempt stamp. That is not a " Visa change" Where does DMK airport come into it. -
Using aseannow it's easy to keep up with the quirks at most officesoffices from first hand reports. For example this one re Korat. https://aseannow.com/topic/1351684-retirement-extension/page/2/#findComment-19592154 The guy complaining (off topic) about Korat (i quoted) appears had issue with his TM30. As per majority of cases most likely poorly prepared. You have first hand knowledge of Korat by all means offer constructive advice.

"visit thai family" 60 day extension
DrJack54 replied to Aland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Which immigration office. Here is old thread however good comments from ubonjoe https://aseannow.com/topic/1130123-re-60-day-extension-to-visit-your-wife/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1330998-extension-requirements-60-day-extension-based-on-marriage-to-thai/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1342849-tourist-visa-exempt-then-apply-for-non-o-based-on-marriage/ -
Work Permit application and Spouse visa
DrJack54 replied to khungene's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Find your post slightly misleading. The OP requires a Non O based on marriage. He already has a Thai bank account. He would require 400k in that account on day of application for the Non O. If he is given an "under consideration period" with a return date for final stamp then basically the application is approved. If he mentions his immigration office then most likely can be advised of requirements. -
Work Permit application and Spouse visa
DrJack54 replied to khungene's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just my opinion ....thinking that you should concentrate on the marriage and subsequent Non O marriage+ 12 month extension. Deal with work permit etc later. -
It is mentioned on websites. It's tied up fact that many countries have 6 month validity requirement hence the 18 months is stated. Correct answer has been posted. If your pp is expiring in less than 12 months on day you apply for extension then the extension will be issued with expiry same as pp expiry.
-
Good plan. Just for others....the pp with original issue of Non O visa is not required. Your cancelled passport and new pp is sufficient. Note that some immigration offices are now also requiring bank book + photocopies+ bank book update on day of transfer. CW one example (checking financial compliance) Note transfer is not urgent. Can do when you have business with immigration.

Extensions from a Non O retirement are 12 month extensions. You do not require any specific period of validity on your pp. Certainly not 18 months. Your extension will be 12 months or up till date of expiry of pp if that is less than 12 months. The passport issue date is from when you apply and expiry will be 10 years from that date. Not from expiry of current pp. So yes you "lose days" Note: in this forum time and time again folk get into not ideal situation by trying to milk out as much time as possible from a pp. Renew when schedule suits you and don't be concerned losing year or 2.
