  1. Surely someone has been in your situation. Yes the stamps will need to be done at CW as that's where issued. Various agents in Bangkok can advise. Does not mean you have to use one. However if I lived in Rayong an agent would be my preferred option if they offer that service. EDIT: Afterthought. Why bother transferring stamps. Son can travel abroad with both pp.. Have them transfered at time of next extension
  2. I can't say for sure. Hopefully someone with first hand experience can advise for CW. Have read some offices require child to be present. Sounds ridiculous. The stamps need to be transferred at immigration office where was issued. From memory you're located Rayong and extensions issued CW? Consider contacting agent eg @ThaiVisaCentre for definitive advice.
  3. OP, from another of your threads seems you located Bangkok. Here is form CW use for transfer of stamps List of requirements at bottom of form https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6 Be aware there is no urgency to transfer stamps. You can do that when have business with immigration eg extension. Be aware that if extension is based on retirement immigration at CW are requiring presentation of bank book and photocopies and update to show compliance with the financial requirements.
  4. Yes UK, USA and AU no longer provide letter. Not required. Which immigration office will you transfer stamps
  5. perhaps that's a Samui thing. My understanding is that years ago folk with yellow book, pink card didn't require certificate of residence for DLT to obtain TDL or renewal. Now days in most places that doesn't cut it. COR required. Fortunately now even at CW people can obtain the COR with tourist status. The forum will hope that folk with DTV can post their experience for license renewal. Some experts eg Siam Legal refer to DTV class as "special tourist visa" I don't quite understand what that means. Guess similar to PE visa (elite)
  6. Read your other thread. You refer to "retirement visa" What do you actually have. A Non O-A (doubt it) A Non O retirement that would have only provided a 90 day permission of stay stamp (doubt it) A 12 month extension (no) Your thread April last year stated...... "I have a non-O retirement visa and plan to travel to Spain this Saturday. I believe I can leave Thailand once without paying the 1,200 baht for a re-entry permit. Can I just walk through immigration on the way out, and then just turn up at immigration on the way back, and my non-O will be renewed?" What?
  7. Excellent that you have the Thai bank account in your name only. At some point deposit 400k into the account for the Non O marriage visa. That provides a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days prior to expiry and the 400k having been in bank for 2 months apply for 12 months extension. There is other paperwork for the Non O and extension. Which immigration office?
  8. Most of the threads regarding bringing (importing) furniture, personal goods etc to Thailand have a negative spin. Many folk suggesting ..."don't do it" For best advice suggest you change the thread heading. Yes a Non O status assume you have that. What are you thinking of bringing. A container? What type of furniture etc. I can understand folk with a large home however is it worth it.
  9. https://aseannow.com/topic/1338111-dtv-and-5-year-drivers-license/ Above thread suggests 5 yr possible.. Not all DLT offices might agree with that.
  10. Yes Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only. Also which immigration office? This thread outlines non O from visa exempt. Zero difference for tourist visa apart from tourist visa use TM86. From exempt use TM87
  11. It's interesting. My renewals at CW are around the Oct zone. Never been an issue. Don't know if the high season is the issue, however seems now very few slots available and as you point out it's only a month ahead. Hopefully temporary as with an appointment it makes things far less of a headache.
  12. Your thread is not clear. Is this your first extension from the Non O? Is your bank Bangkok Bank?
  13. I don't think the clerk was "dopey" 30 mins is going rate. You on the other hand could have obtained the "bank letter" prior to day of application. Would be acceptable no problem.
  14. As pointed out in your thread. Nothing official about the slip of paper that is particular to Jomitien. No record was ever made of reporting back. In some cases slip never handed out. As you state ...you were not given slip. Not required. Many threads on this dating back.. Not really a matter of which office is "better". You apply for your extension where you do your TM30, TM47 etc. Note that your extension retirement had process time of few days. At CW it's done on the spot.
  15. Given that OP is renting his best option is to contact his landlord. My Thai partner has real estate Last week one of her tenants (farang school teacher) contacted and said his friend was coming for a few months visit. A TM30 was done after he sent friend pp copy. Took minutes. What you suggested would also work.
  16. Well Jomitien is one of the immigration offices that prone to muck folk around on this. Sometimes requesting you come back closer to expiry. Suggest you apply within a week remaining.
  17. Zero days after. The non O stamp expiry date is the last day you can exit to avoid overstay. How many days past your stamp expiry do you plan to exit Thailand.
  18. How early depends on immigration office. One or two weeks early is common. Your 30 day extension is added to current stamp. You don't lose days applying early.
  19. It will be hit and miss you being able to obtain a certificate of residence which is necessary for transport office to process TDL. CW for example previously required a TM47 receipt. However seems recently has changed. Here is snip from recent post re COR at CW from @Tod Daniels "I can confirm that you CAN get a Certificate of Residence from Chaengwattana on any entry stamp WITH a TM30 <- they use that address to mail the COR to you" Given you are located in Mukdahan this all seems too much effort. You stated that you do not plan (currently) plan to stay long term don't see easy option to obtain TDL renewal. Even if you were in Bangkok the COR takes a week to be posted out. Be aware that you can renew your license up to one year after expiry. The 55k ED visa is not best idea (imo) Be aware that with visa exempt stamp your license will only be renewed for 2 year period Ride carefully!
  20. Indeed. It would seem that anyone looking for a non O retirement or marriage would skip the idea of obtaining an eVisa from nearby countries.. Preference would be to enter visa exempt and obtain the Non O at local immigration office. Especially given process time. Those currently in home country then obtaining eVisa for Thailand is still good option. Even moreso if no bank account in Thailand..
  21. None unless you do the piggyback option as non Thai wife as a dependent. Useful for someone with non Thai wife under 50. Seems you have good setup with agent and you are able to provide funds. Stick with that.
  22. Those photo/print shops at various immigration offices is best bet. In OP can walk in with pp and say to copy shop joint ....."30 day extension" They will take pp and do what's required. If photo for TM7 required they will advise. Still suggest OP has a TM30.
  23. She is non Thai. Seems you both over 50 and have both been obtaining extensions based on retirement hence the 800k each. Marriage to the "intended" (like that term) changes nothing. If you can afford afford the 800k each in Thai bank account each then fine. Frankly in your situation I would consider agent for you and partner separate extensions.
  24. Sorry. Misread your post. Overlooked the fact spouse would be non Thai. That's completely different. You could live in Thailand on extensions based on retirement and non Thai wife could piggyback on your extensions as being a dependent. She would need to enter Thailand with a Non O We are off topic. Suggest you start a thread for your situation from the forum to assist.
  25. If you marry Thai and continue to obtain extensions based on retirement you need 800k in bank for 2 months prior to application and 3 months after and not below 400k in other months. If extension is based on marriage financial requirements is 400k for two months prior to application and till final stamp in pp. Then funds can be used. Sweet deal however has more paperwork, home visit, etc Here is ubonjoe link to requirements. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=843557&key=2caaa6b16bae18dd24e0a61253734932 State your immigration office for better information. Edit: my post is outlining marriage to a Thai. My error.
