  1. With your history you would be fine. Few days out of Thailand would be a positive.
  2. Go back and read the OP. Not asking for advice regarding the use of agent. Stick to thread. I'm sure most folk are aware of agent option.
  3. Ok....not an option. I really hope the pp comes through within the 7 days. Another option I very rarely suggest is to go onto overstay and pay fine on departure. If you know the new pp is coming within 7 days then agree with your plan of obtaining the 7 day get out of dodge stamp.
  4. That is correct however when exactly is your new pp ready. You say soon? Is that definitive. Bit late now. I would have done border bounce.
  5. Any permission of stay can be protected by purchase of reentry permit. Multiple 3800 and single 1000. By all means obtain your non O-A. The non O with extentions and reentry permits achieves same result. Please report back what the cost of non O-A insurance is.
  6. Most folk that use an agent do not start transfers or place funds in bank for extension in 12 month time. To switch to doing it yourself he would need start over. New non O
  7. Because they choose not to. Believe it or not many folk here are not short of funds and opportunity cost on a miserable 800k in a Thai bank account means very little.
  8. Not all immigration offices accept combo method and clearly this is a once of for the OP due to renno. Combo method would be bad plan.
  9. Nothing wrong with that. I would suggest take out the whole 400k (after 3 months of obtaining the extension) and place into your daily banking account and replenish into "extension account) in one hit 2 month+ prior to next extension.
  10. The requirements for a 12 month extension based on retirement are clear. (it's not a requirement visa) If previously using an agent you would need to obtain a new non O and meet the financials.
  11. Different from when I did it (not recently) When I went to make new booking there was a onscreen message in Thai. The gf translate to " if continue your existing booking cancelled" Obviously I just pressed continue. In any event you would just be a no show for first appointment. Don't worry about it.
  12. Stating your particular immigration office will provide first hand replies
  13. My understanding is that if you proceed with new booking the previous one is cancelled. Re your next visit...I suggest you do nothing. There is a form (or was) where you tick the standard no boxes. You did the right thing by reschedule so good to go in 10 days.
  14. Obviously keep an amount above those rules. Sometimes the bank may take an small annual charge from account for card etc. Added tip: best to use dedicated bank account for immigration purposes.
  15. I use money in bank method for extensions based on retirement and deal with CW. Bank Book photocopies acceptable to show financial requirements have been met. Along with bank letter to show you are the owner of the account and balance on day letter issued.
  16. OP, seems you obtained a non O from tourist visa? That gives a 90 day stamp. It's not an extension. You cannot obtain a 30 day extension to the non O. You would need to do border bounce.
  17. What you described is correct. 800k for 2 months prior to application and maintained for 3 months after application then not below 400k at other times.
  18. Yes to question about 45 days for visa exempt entry from Oct 1 till March 31. Extensions to those entries are 30 days Onwardticket.com is an options or throw away eg Bangkok to Saigon approx 1500baht another option. You could trying flying without onward flight and if airline insists ....step away from check in counter and book throw away flight as mentioned. Sometimes the airline will allow you to sign a waiver.
  19. The OP, is CW specific. With a dedicated bank account using money in bank method a bank statement is not required. Avoid quoting me it's tiring. The OP has already mentioned that obtaining new passport and subsequent new bankbook may have caused the issue for the io
  20. Very naive post. Of course there are forms and requirements. Here is thread for step 1. Changing from visa exempt to non O . Ubonjoe outlines required form in first post. In addition the second step is to obtain a 12 month extension. That also requires form TM7 and financial requirements.
  21. Yes it's for 2 years. Then you obtain the 5 year license. The bummer is that you need to obtain another residence certificate and go through a process. It's not just rock up to transport office and hand over some baht.
  22. You have many option and clearly you have outlined a few. Be aware that the extension to visa exempt will be still 30 days even after Oct 1 when visa exempt entry increases to 45 days As far as your onward flight for visa exempt entry that would/may be required by the airline not immigration when you arrive. There are options to show onward flight discussed in many threads. You did not mention 60 day extension to visit wife. That can be applied for at immigration. You mentioned non O from visa exempt entry (also available in the states eVisa);..that gives a 90 day stamp and rather than 12 month extension you could tack on the 60 to visit wife. You also outlined border bounce and are familiar with that. Many options.
  23. You have raised a concern. If indeed this was the reason for requiring bank statements then that could be an issue for many.
