The abrupt welcome on my 3rd Visa Exempt
DrJack54 replied to popabear's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nup you read it correctly. Thread is a chit chat about nothing. For anyone entering visa exempt via air with some previous history be prepared for basic questions. These can be ...... How long do you plan to stay? Where do you plan to stay? etc. Non invasive questions. Should carry cash however rarely asked for. -

90 days report pending
DrJack54 replied to PHJones's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The window period for online has gone back and forth. Some/many stating online reporting window is 2 weeks prior to one week prior. Not up to due date. From Tod Daniels in another recent thread...... "Plus one last bit of bad news the "window to apply online" is from 2 weeks before down until 1 week before the due date (outside that window you get denied) -
Online 90 day check during weekends
DrJack54 replied to Joe32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Online rejected for various reasons. One is that's it's a problematic system. Also seems immigration trying to sync TM30 with online reporting. Incomplete filling in of application (rare as magnifying glass is autofill) You have returned from trip out of Thailand and they want in person report. I last did in person (CW) last Nov 5. My window opens soon. No international travel. I have ZERO confidence online will be approved. Tempted to use bullet proof mail option.. OR just ignore the messed up system and pay 2000b at next extension (this Nov). Refuse to do in person after international travel. There's a saying...."if it ain't broke don't fix it" We have a stupid broken system. Fix it.. -
OP, ... 1. Depends on agent they may want to use specific BBL branch.. ~4k. 2.Agent will organize address or discuss providing your own. 3. Agent should be able to do all. Non O + 12 month extension early. 4. Both offices you mention are well know and established. Maneerat likely slightly cheaper. OP, the agents have good communication via phone and apps such as Line etc.. If you are handy to an office drop in. I was in Maneerat couple of months back (unrelated matter). Took some time to chat with one of the staff. They explain the process completely.. OP, sent PM

90 days report pending
DrJack54 replied to PHJones's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I wouldn't suggest that. From the OP. ....."Last week I reported online again, 10 days before the due date." He would now be within the last 7 days. OP, irrelevant that you made the report. If not approved you could be fined. 2000b If no approval you could go in person up to a week after due date and avoid fine. 2000k -
The abrupt welcome on my 3rd Visa Exempt

Poor assumption. Complete opposite. Suffice to say I'm escorted straight to priority lane. The OP account (to me) is fanciful. -

Have you ever flown internationally. If you are in airport assist wheelchair then you do not que in immigration lines. Even in disabled/priority lane you are taken straight there. Often skip ahead of parents with young children. Seems the OP had good care and wants to moan. Obtained his stamp and on his way. -
The abrupt welcome on my 3rd Visa Exempt
DrJack54 replied to popabear's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You have not outlined how you entered Thailand. Assume if relevant to this thread it is visa exempt. Also you have not outlined history in Thailand visa exempt entries. The clobber you wear is irrelevant. Another myth. If anything would perhaps suggest you are working in Thailand. -

DrJack54 replied to popabear's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Dont understand any of your post. The OP was afforded priority lane. The female io assisted with fingerprints. BTW: I have never seen that and I fly very often. The io asked basic questions. The OP was stamped in. You want io to provide Hawaiian flowers. End of. -

You are starting to lose creditability imo. I know how wheelchair priority works and it's not how you describe. Also imo the female io vs male is typical bar stool myth. You have conveyed your experience. Do you have anything else to offer. -

Retirement Visa renewal
DrJack54 replied to Finlaco's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The 800k for retirement extension is 2 months prior to application and 3 months after application then not below 400k in other months. -

She asked you basic questions and you were stamped in. BTW she helped with fingerprints. If you want some balance to travel experience fly into Vietnam and compare immigration personal. -
In this attached thread my first reply has link to another thread where OP gave first hand account of using a Bangkok company. I also contacted that business. Very professional. I was going down the annual income option and fell tad short of annual income 80K usd Can you qualify for remote online work option. The DTV seems great option. Not so convinced about the soft power options however plenty have obtained them. Bit surprised that you find the extensions based on marriage so onerous. Yes lot of paperwork however very friendly financial requirements.

The abrupt welcome on my 3rd Visa Exempt
DrJack54 replied to popabear's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You stated 3 visa exempt entries however did not mention time between visits and how long you stayed. The questions she asked were normal for visa exempt entries. Think you are jumping at shadows- 79 replies

No big deal however best to understand exactly what you did. From your visa exempt entry your first step was to obtain a Non O VISA based on retirement. That visa provided 90 day permission of stay. Step 2 is to apply for 12 month extension to your permission of stay. It's not a Visa and it's not extending your visa. You would have required seasoning of the 800k for two months. Also the extension can only be applied for 45/30 days prior to expiry of expiry of your non O 90 day stamp. Agents can do it in one hit. Don't know why the io stated that you should have applied for Non O in own country. Crazy really. Regarding the comment on TM30 of course they require hard copy. That's standard. They even require hard copy of appointment confirmation if you make one.

First up there is no longer in person applications for visa at places such as Savannakhet etc All visas for Thailand are eVisa applied for in that country and you need to be in that country. LTR: There are good companies that can assist however don't confuse this with agents that can side pass eg financials for non O retirement etc. For this visa you need to satisfy the financial requirements. DTV: You can use an agent for that. Not cheap and will include whole package accommodation etc etc in place such as Laos. Not clear now how long that process will take. Plenty of reports of folk obtaining DTV themselves in nearby countries. Non O: if over 50 the best option (if not in home country) is to enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain Non O at your local immigration office from visa exempt entry. Are you over 50. Do you have Thai bank account in your name only?

Indeed. This "way around" BBL issue for 12 months bank statement is to obtain 2 six months bank statements. Aside: for those using CW suggest obtaining 12 month bank statement day or two prior to application as even though banks are located lower level, producing the bank statements does take time..
