Overstay on Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to 1ricardsvp's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Exactly. Bit of added info to give OP bit of confidence. My last extension at CW ....I had a chap I chatted to waiting for que ticket. Anyway he was 5 day overstay visa exempt. At that time extension for visa exempt was done at MTT. Explained that and as I was leaving and offered short car drive to MTT. Cut to the chase he LINE me later that he paid overstay and obtained extension. Hopefully same will work out for the OP. Worst case (as you point out) he pays overstay his extension refused and given 7 days to get out of Dodge. -
Overstay on Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to 1ricardsvp's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes there is a possibility. He should be ok. Yep nervous wait for op however it's a common thing. His other option is to fly out. Pay fine at airport and return after short break. If he qualifies for visa exempt entry to Vietnam could be nice option. Depends where he is located. -
Do nothing right now. When you attend immigration for your non O application have with you the first tm30 and lease you mentioned in OP.

Overstay on Visa Exemption

You should be fine to pay overstay and apply for extension. -
Was bit of a strange experience for me. I had never done a TM47 for my first 7 years pre covid due to exit/reenter every month. So covid hit and I needed 90 report in person and same visit residence certificate. Both at MTT. For 90 report I had my lease. Not required. The imm officer desk A, just asked that's where I live looking at my lease. I said yes. And done. That was it. Then moved to residence certificate desk B Had some basic copies of pp. She only wanted my TM47. Now of course that's not normal, however my personal experience. Will be funny if/when I go to my condo office and ask for TM30 screenshot as I have been same room for 10 years and never done one.

Looks like I will be up for two trips. Been here for 10 years and I have never even made a TM30. However thanks for checking. My last residence certificate was 2 years ago at MTT and I provided the basic pages of pp. And most important seemed to be my TM47 receipt photocopy. Added note never supplied a TM30 for my extensions. However things change. Previously have never supplied TM47 for extensions retirement however out of the blue last Nov CW wanted one for my annual extension. I don't like immigration offices.

Cash does not need to be baht. Equivalent currency is ok. Bank app, bank book etc not accepted. -

Financial requirements for NON -O
DrJack54 replied to Tingnongnoi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Possible but usually photocopies of bank book pages would be sufficient to show requirements were met. -
What type of permission of stay do you have. Meaning annual extensions, tourist visa, etc etc. Do you do 90 day reports.

NON-B application as a 'resident' of Thailand - Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency

Personally I always put down my passport country as my "residence" even though live in Thailand many years. -
Financial requirements for NON -O
DrJack54 replied to Tingnongnoi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The letter is done on the spot. Just a statement that you own the account and balance. Here is an example. -
Spot on post. The OP flew into DMK which has an excellent allocated taxi system. That is meter taxi's. BKK the same.
-
OP, where are you planning to open the account. Be aware that if it is Bangkok you require a certificate of residence and if entering on a visa exempt or tourist visa that is not possible. Your embassy may provide equivalent but messy. Regards "which bank" pick either Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn. If you opt to use agent to open account they generally charge 4k baht and use Bangkok Bank..

One Year Extension Based Upon Marriage
DrJack54 replied to Dave1954's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Since you persist then name your immigration office and my guess is that I can point out a difference to that office from another.. There are approx 75 offices. And you start with "totally wrong" More strange than your first post.. -
One Year Extension Based Upon Marriage

Perhaps the funniest/most strange post for today. Immigration offices have their own requirements and sadly some that are just flat out incorrect. -
Income Letter for Marriage Visa question...
DrJack54 replied to NZAMBOY's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, you missed this post from @OJAS.... "Precisely what do you mean by this expression? An application for an annual extension of stay based on marriage? Or for the conversion of a visa-exempt or tourist visa entry into a non-O visa for marriage,...." Answer that question and you will receive more accurate replies.
