I'd get rid of OA, If you really want to keep it use an agent. I extended my OA once and used an agent. Cost of Insurance policy was 3,000thb on top of his basic fees.

I grew up in the US, no car seats, no seat belts, riding in the back of a pickup was great fun. I'm not saying car seats aren't safer for kids but you have to be realistic here. It will take time for the Thais to embrace this new law and likely will never happen in the short term. First of all their entire driving mentality needs to change before you can expect car seats to be embraced.

The OA visa nowadays seems like it's too much work. Last year I exited Thailand with my OA without reentry permit, came in visa exempt and went with the O visa and extension. Much easier in the long run. My original plan was to use the OA to max 2 yrs and get a new OA, wash and repeat but the insurance and Covid made that impossible.

You are so intent on finding fault, I said in the beginning with air and a paint pot spraying paint used for houses you have to thin the paint to much to be sprayed through the gun. I don't know what you're going on about. I used the same gun to spray my truck.

So, you've painted houses with air and a paint pot? I have and it's not the way to go. As for airless, painting smooth walls it's great, spraying exterior stucco I didn't have a good experience.

If the beach is meaningful to you, then hands down Hua Hin is good. I just came from Jomtein Beach and the water is disgustingly nasty looking.

Problem with using an air compressor and paint pot is you have to thin the paint too much for sprayer to handle. As mentioned before the airless doesn't get the nooks and crannies well. Invest in a good pressure washer, and use rollers.

I always travel with cash, don't see what the big deal is. If you travel visa exempt without an onward ticket, be prepared to buy one. I've been asked many, many times for proof of onward travel. For 12 dollars you can have an onward flight itinerary, again what's the big deal.

All I know is I had a pension and SS going to US bank, a year ago I went online SS website and OPM website where you can change deposit info. My pension and SS now gets dropped into Bangkok Bank as "International Transfer".

Does this mean they started SS benefits from Thailand? Is the reason I did it online because I went back to US and did a face to face with SS official to start my benefits?

I did the exact same thing 1 yr ago to qualify for visa. I did mine on the SS website. On the website swift code not needed. It simply asks for route number (026008691) and your account number in Thailand. Take about a month to happen. I didn't use any paper forms or go to Bangkok Bank.

100 thb/chair is crazy expensive. 45 minutes from Pattaya the cost is 30 thb for those horrible folding chairs or a plastic chair. I prefer going to the beaches with trees for shade and bring our own mats and chairs. I can understand the frustration of dealing with the chair mafia.

One issue I have at times is when the bank calls me it takes so long my voicemail picks up the call and I can't log on. But texts work fine. Before you buy the new phone put US sim card in it and call yourself from Thai phone to make sure it works.

I was in exact same position with Ting. On their website they offer phones for sale and I bought one of the cheaper ones here in Thailand. Just checked out the Mint website and phones offered are some cheap ones. The one I bought was Samsung A03 for 4000thb. Much less hassle than your way.
