So, today was my second day of dealing with Immigration for 90 day Non-O. Man I had a stack of papers so waiting to see my IO I counted the pages, 32 pages, 32 pages. For my second day there I was required to have bankbook updated Again, even though the day before I had bank letter and bankbook updated. Now this is my first time doing this myself here in Thailand, I used an agent last year and I must say if one doesn't care much about the money I wholeheartedly understand the reason for using an agent. And I'm not referring to not having funds, I'm talking about avoiding the abounding BS one has to endure.

I'm thinking if I was a Thai guy working for low wages I'd think about this offer. They will probably make at least double maybe triple wages in Saudi. I'm just curious about the reason Saudi wants Thais when they have a steady supply of workers from India and probably Pakistan who I'd bet do and would work cheaper.

How do you know when someone is drunk? If you saw someone walking up to their car to drive how would you gauge their drunkenness? If you're in a restaurant and you see a couple share a bottle of wine for dinner and you see him climb behind the wheel in a car, Is he drunk? You see in your world there is only those who don't drink and those who get drunk? No middle ground right? That's not how the real world works. I went to a little bar today for a few (3) small beers. This is in a little small fishing village. Guys pop in for a few, talk a bit and go home. All day, everyday. That's the reality of things.

I would think a trip to the bank for account statement is easier than a trip to Embassy for letter.

In theory a good time to buy, but myself I wouldn't know what to do or what to buy. My money is invested in an IRA, mutual funds, S&P and NYSE, but I don't have a great knowledge except I've made money.

Initially the stock market will take a hit so any invested in a retirement plan in the US will have their funds played with.

Agent can handle the Ins proof as well. When I had an agent do my 12 mos extension for OA it cost 3000 tbh for health ins.

Is Sakon Immigration still charging 1000 tbh for Residence Cert?

Who cares who fibbed who didn't. Having an agent handle the extension is so easy I seriously doubt not having a letter would force anyone out of Thailand.

I've never been asked to show 20,000 tbh but I always got it.

If I didn't have kids to leave my properties to I would have sold by now. Market is ripe for profit, invest for some safe 5-6% returns. I's be living in a 20 mil house on the beach (that I'd never be able to sell and wouldn't be in my name to sell) instead of a 3.0 mil house away from the beach. But, but as you can see things change and if you want to move back to the US you're pretty much screwed with today's prices right now. If I was moving back with no house I'd be looking at an RV park in Florida not too far from the beach.
