    Flip-flop. I am starting to think there are people who will vote for Trump for the same reason they like watching train wrecks.

    I normally run my A/C's at 27 C. Perhaps it might be worth checking refrigerant level. That's usually the cause of poor functioning, low levels.

    I visited America many times when I was working, attending conferences and visiting companies aligned with the one I worked for. Technical exchanges. There were lots of things in America I found impressive. I think logistical ability comes out on top. Anyone who has flown in and out of O'Hare, Los Angeles or New York knows what I mean.

    Very true. I was brought up in a world where one never abused women, one was polite to others, one never cheated in sport, or cheated anyone else. Hard work would reap rewards. You judged people by what they did, not the color of their skin or the shape of their eyes. Now, it seems to me I am living in an inverted world.

    I don't hate Trump. I despise him for what he has done to America and Americans, that they can accept lies as perfectly normal.

    I've predicted precious metals quite successfully. Never made a loss on gold, silver and platinum. Made good coin when silver went from AUD 36 to AUD 48, sold at AUD 45. I don't hold bitcoin, that's for mugs always hoping they'll get more than they paid. This chart tells me the latest head and shoulders formation will have buyers crying in their beer soon.

    Vance has a history of saying whatever he thinks is needed to advance his career. He's a weathercock. Walz is authentic. Vance has as much authenticity as a Patek Philippe made in Shanghai.

    I probably made a mistake in not putting my 800K into fixed deposit, the agent who first got my retirement visa might have been responsible. I get about 4K baht in interest, pay 500 baht tax. I can't be bothered chasing that. Do you know how to convert the 800K into fixed deposit from cash at call, without sending Immigration into the vapors?

    Depends on how much baggage the OP has to cart with him. IMO if he can't afford 150 baht for a taxi, he should stay where he is.

    Agree. I researched Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos for six months before settling on Thailand. After more than ten years here, I still have not burned my bridges. I have money and a place to stay in Australia, and maintain private health insurance there. My rule of thumb was to have 30% of my assets here, 70% in Australia. It's down to 65% now.

    Disagree. It's much better for me than my country of origin. A lot of the problems mentioned in the OP are simply a learning curve. I have to say I have not noticed any significant price inflation. The cost of condos to buy or rent has not moved for ten years. Neither has the cost of a retirement extension. There might be some movement in food, but it is too small to affect me.

    The $16 million loss consisted of $3 million spent in setting up a TV streaming service. No one seems to know where the other $13 million went. Find me a lefty who was dumb enough to invest in yet another Trump company headed for failure. Bezos was the first billionaire to have his wealth exceed $150 billion.
