  1. This reason (long stay) was introduced a few years ago to replace "tagging" accounts to force the routing via BBL and ensure the International Transfer annotation to deposits. Choosing this means the deposit will land in your account just after 2:00pm the next day (same day if you're up early enough). "Tagging" was introduced after a change in Wise' procedures meant a lot of people relying on the International marking were left without it for a while causing issues with Immigration for many. The reason about purchasing property also goes this different route as condo purchases may have to show the funds coming from overseas.
  2. It's not standard for BBL to sit on inbound funds so if they are in your situation try to change things about until they don't. Different reasons for remittance, higher value of transaction, funding method and source of funds can all affect the process so there's no "right" answer but only "right for you". You just have to find it and it could easily be Wise.
  3. Definitely not the only one going by posts on here and elsewhere. Most reports I've read seem to be transferring from North America. Are you in that boat?
  4. Call him back and tell him he's talking rubbish.
  5. Using Wise' calculator on their home page you can see the Wire Transfer fee is fixed at $6.11 USD. The ACH fee varies dependent on the amount being sent and at $2,190 it is exactly $6.11 so anything greater than that would be better sent using a Wire Transfer.
  6. The shuttle train to/from Sat 1 clearly has accommodation for wheelchair users, as can be seen in this video at 1 min 58 seconds as he films through the train windows as it arrives into the station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnrXosPHSgs
  7. It's mostly live TV I watch using the Firestick - I stick on BBC News when I wake up and just leave it playing for a while. I use a free service so occasionally see buffering but can usually find a site that's OK. The 1Mbps speed was from a SIM router so a phone should easily achieve that.
  8. 16 years later and an irrelevant bump. Well done.
  9. Can you explain why? I watch SD television via a Firestick and can monitor download speeds in real time. It seems to run OK at about 1 Mbps.
  10. No they don't. The poster who said that is not renowned for his credibility. I pay for flight ticket purchases with a credit card.
  11. Lots of places.
  12. As already mentioned upthread, that's down to your settings. Click on the currency symbol at the top of the homepage to change it.
  13. No need for a name on a bill? Unusual. What does it say on your bill next to the Thai for "Electricity user"?
  14. Is the actual acount in your name or just the bill? I see on my (PEA) bill my landlord's name as "Electricity user" with my name below with "Payment by" next to it (all in Thai except my name).
  15. Despite using Suvarnabhumi since it opened, I've never used a regular taxi from there but always a pre-booked service, a bus and even once a Bolt. I'll be arriving there this weekend and contemplating using a regular taxi as I don't know of any pre-bookable ones based in my destination area so can anyone confirm/explain the current procedure? As I understand it: 1) Go to Level 1. 2) Find the area for regular taxis and take a ticket from the machine. 3) Proceed to the lane number shown on the ticket and wait for your ride. 4) Try to explain your destination to the driver. 5) Expect to pay the meter reading plus 50 baht for the airport surcharge, plus any tolls, plus 20 baht per suitcase. My one case will be quite small and I'll have a laptop bag. I've calculated the cost as just under 1,000 baht which is on a par with Grab. Is there any reason to use one over the other? Bolt is significantly less but not so organised from my last experience - any recent users able to comment? Or best of all, does anyone know any private car companies based in or near Bueng District in Sri Racha?
  16. Apology accepted. I worked for many years for one of the organisations which would come under the umbrella and realise quite well what it involves.
  17. A lot will depend on where you start off. The transportation cost will be a lot more if you start for, example, in Singapore as opposed to if you start in Phang Na.
  18. Not sure if it would help the poster you replied too, but there's also an online option here: https://www.dtac.co.th/en/prepaid/registration/
  19. Your original statement mentioned "the defence industry" so I compared it with other industries to get a fair playing field (not individual companies or departments). It appears there's quite a few ahead of defence. Now everyone knows you will obfuscate and back pedal to justify your statement, but it's in black and white above and you were the one who worded it such.
  20. It's so poorly put together it could almost be mistaken for a government site.

No, it's Tigglebitties. Buffalo Bar is 3Bz Burritoz.
  22. You may want to google that and get back to us.
  23. Well said, but I think KhunH is just bored and likes to pontificate, even if it does make him sound out of touch or a bit retarded (or both as in this case).
  24. That official shop on Shopee is currently showing only 1, 3 or 6 month options. I noticed this a month or so ago as my current package is due to expire and I'd started looking about. The earlier link you gave still mentions the 1 year option but takes you on to the Shopee page without them! I was able to get a yearly one on Lazada for 900 baht.
