Must Read British men's assault complaint awaited by Pattaya police
treetops replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
No, there isn't. It's mentioned on the previous page that video exists of them leaving the scene and reportedly later on crossing Pattaya Klang under their own steam. -

Must Read British men's assault complaint awaited by Pattaya police
treetops replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
There is later video of them leaving the fight scene, albeit the white shirted one was on wobbly legs, and later crossing Klang at the junction with 2nd Road. Both would appear to indicate somewhat of a recovery. -
For those having trouble with the QR Code/bank app there is also a Line account detailed on the bill which some posters on this recent thread have used to make contact and eventually pay the bill without a trip to City Hall, 711 or bank. https://aseannow.com/topic/1326453-condo-tax-in-pattaya/

It's the same distance to cover whether you show your passport and get your bags earlier or later in the process, so you would still have the same problems, just with the addition of hauling bags along,

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
treetops replied to Mike Lister's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Similar, but not quite the same for me. Air France recently directed me to their Thai site to purchase tickets based on my origin/location being Thailand. At the end of the process they tried to hit me with a credit card (maybe as much as 800 THB IIRC) so I changed site to the UK version. Purchased the same tickets as I had originally planned but was charged in GBP with no credit card fee and the mark up for them doing any conversion behind the scenes was about 10% of the 800 THB fee they would have charged. I don't know the intricacies of airline ticketing but that seems to me like SOTI. -
Not accepting foreign credit cards
treetops replied to maxx58's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Sounds like you may have chosen (or were unknowingly made) to pay in GBP which leaves you at the mercy of the vendor's exchange rate rather than the Visa/Mastercard rate which would have been much better. Paying in THB will almost always give you a better exchange rate. Your bank fees are avoidable if you have a card which is free of these - Halifax Clarity is one such card, however my understanding was you didn't get hit with the fees if you were billed in GBP. Maybe some banks still use "overseas purchases" to charge fees on rather than "foreign currency transactions"? -
OK. I have fixed ones as "home" requires comms for security cameras and other IOT gadgets.

Any particular reason you specify a "pocket" router if it's for a fixed location, and not a full spec one?

Bluestacks is the one I see mentioned most often. No idea how it performs.

Which bank? There are reports it can't be done with BBL app.

Phone number to contact WISE
treetops replied to JAS21's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I have these details noted down although they are from some time ago: email: support (at) transferwise.com phone: +44 203 695 0999 -
They should have put the cones up the middle of Soi Diana until just past the entrance to The Edge so it was 2 way for that first/last 10 - 15 yards. Wouldn't affect traffic much in either direction and would have saved a lot of trouble.

This thread is still current and open where your claim is refuted and a method given to use your wallet contents. I agree you could have problems withdrawing it if that is your goal. https://aseannow.com/topic/1327798-lazada-refund-today/#comment-18930421

Thai numbers are re-used and I have a mate in the same position with Lazada Wallet and him having a phone number registered to a previous user.

Electric Scooter Rentals Surface in Pattaya, Prompting Legal Issues

No, they could have used the TPN photo as they subsequently did in the follow up report and referenced it accordingly. -
Electric Scooter Rentals Surface in Pattaya, Prompting Legal Issues
treetops replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Further up the article it says the authorities visited the company on October 10th. The actual dates should have been May 17th and May 20th and can be seen in the original report here: https://thepattayanews.com/2024/05/19/update-pattaya-electric-scooter-rental-company-instructed-by-city-officials-to-temporarily-halt-business/ -
Electric Scooter Rentals Surface in Pattaya, Prompting Legal Issues
treetops replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Looks like the original article came from The Pattaya News and was just reworded for here and a different (inaccurate) picture used. Same paragraph structure and content throughout, just slightly modified language. Not the first time I've noticed it from an AN newsbot. https://thepattayanews.com/2024/05/17/rental-electric-scooters-pop-up-in-pattaya-raising-legal-concerns/ -

Pay tax in another country and offset it against any potential Thai tax as per your country's DTA.
