  1. It's changed as it used to be in Profile Information and could be edited there. Now if you go into "International Certificate" then select "Request for a Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate / Adding Vaccination Information" then acknowledge the message in Thai, it looks like you can edit it. There's a "Confirm" button at the bottom that might need to be selected. I've no idea if this will work but if not I had success using the email address: [email protected] Include your full name, Vaccine ID Number and Date of Birth in your email.
  2. Halifax Clarity is a long time favourite which I have and is readily available. My other one is a legacy MBNA and probably not available any more. A couple of the other available ones are Barclaycard Rewards and 118 118 Money. For debit cards Starling Bank and Chase (app only and £1,500 ATM withdrawal limit per month) are probably the best.
  3. Tell you friend not to take the chance of Finnair refusing to fly him. He should buy a throway ticket to exit Thailand within 30 days and show it if required. Alternatively he could "rent" an onward ticket from one of the various sites that offer this service. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=onward+ticket+service
  4. It's the right to residency they're looking for, not details of residency such as an address. As such uploading your home country passport (again) for an application to your home embassy/consulate shows this.
  5. Similar in the UK and I also have two of them, and from reading on here I understand the USA has similar offerings. Most well prepared tourists will not be paying any foreign exchange fees or bank charges when using a card for payment.
  6. I've seen the halogen bulb type ovens, usually with a glass base but most air fryers now have a heating element similar to an old electric stove top IME.
  7. That's exactly how Wise has been used for transfers since before they launched the Borderless (now called Multi Currency) account. Leaving money with them is only an option if you have an account, and can be used if you want to time the market and optimise the exchange rate as described above. To answer the OP, going by the examples on their site, moving £1,000 from GBP to THB within a Multi Currency acccount will cost £6.20 while using a low cost traditional transfer funded from your regular UK bank account will cost £6.38, if I have understood and used their example screens correctly (8 baht difference from £1,000 in THB received). Presumably the lower cost is down to them making a profit with your stored money.
  8. I'm not expert, but from what I read on here your acquaintance is talking garbage. A 30 day extension to the initial VE entry may be required to get all the requirements in line.
  9. You can book online too, despite the link you gave saying book at the bus station.
  10. I did exactly that on 4th June this year with my first two having been received in Scotland and the third in Thailand but registered with NHS Scotland. Airport check in looked at it and didn't blink. No-one on entry to Thailand looked at it but I had submitted it for the Thailand Pass which was needed then and it was granted without question. The phone app does display all 3.
  11. Guiness 200 baht/pint in Soi Khao Noi Sports Bar yesterday afternoon.
  12. It goes to Jomtien from Hua Hin and Suvarnabhumi.
  13. Images of the card online appear to show the Mastercard logo so their rate would be applicable unless you choose to pay in a non-local currency which would open you to DCC. From their website:
  14. The borderless account is now called the multi currency account. I've never set one up as although I use Wise for transfers I have other accounts which offer me as good or better options than the Wise card.
  15. Assuming you're in Economy Class, you're not flying enough to make a FF program worthwhile. Concentrate on airline quality, cost and timings - only you can decide what priority to give to each. If you're flying Business or First Class you'll get most (if not all) of the benefits a FF program elite member will get anyway, so not worth chasing the points and again choose your carrier by the measures above.
  16. Unless they're part of the structure to make you wind and water tight then I would not expect anything more than a year warranty, even if they're expected to last much longer.
  17. It's the country your google account uses that matters. Settings, General, Account and device preferences, Country and profiles (for me). If it's on your home country you won't get geo-locked to Thailand apps but if you want to change it to Thailand you won't be able to change it back for a year. ETA: You can of course create another Google account based in another country and switch between them as required.
  18. Don't pollute forums with nonsense when I'm older.
  19. It woulsn't make any difference to the security issue. Arrivals duty free purchases would still have to go through outgoing domestic security just as anything brought in from overseas would, and there's no duty free for departing domestic flights.
  20. I would have thought that a big risk as these bags and receipts coud have been generated in a non-secure location and packaged with anything, but if MajorTom says he's done it then so be it.
  21. The STEB bags he refers to can be taken as carry on after transit in many places, but these will have been purchased/sealed in a secure area and never left airside. As he is going landside at BKK I would expect (don't know 100% as never tried) security to knock them back. With security being at the gate for domestic departures I doubt that even airside transit passengers could do it at BKK, as security don't know where you've come from or if you've been landside while in transit.
  22. Use this company. I don't ever recall it being bookable by individuals. https://limousine.in.th/fast-track-immigration.php
  23. Even on the same itinerary he would still have to clear customs etc at BKK. KKC has no facilities for these. According to Bangkok Airways the only other airports in Thailand you can transit to are shown below. I don't recall Trat and Pattaya being on the list but that's what they say.
  24. Immigration couldn't care what duty free you bring in, but customs (if they're awake) might take an interest. The drinks will then have to go into your hold luggage for your seperate flight to HKT as BKK security won't let them past even in a STEB.
