  1. That wasn't in the claim I responded to as the poster has pointed out, but thanks for your input.
  2. Quite happy to be proven correct, thank you. Run along now.
  3. Yes,VN1. The discussion followed a comment of "an international airport with no international flights" which was easily seen as incorrect.
  4. Strange that this flight flew yesterday from UTH-HAN just as I posted. Did flightradar make it up too?
  5. OP appears to be talking about native English speakers. Everyone you refer to doesn't appear to fall into that category.
  6. Are you really claiming that requiring banks to report what is being asked is a bad idea for the UK's finances? Times have changed, fraudsters have changed, the law needs to change to keep up. And I doubt very much whether larger scale fraudsters are being ignored.
  7. Everyone could pick holes in all sorts of data, and make statistics tell any story they want depending on what argument they are trying to make. Even if the figures are 50% out (unlikely IMO as genuine claimants will most likely engage when approached) over £3 billion GBP from the public purse is still at stake and should be pursued by any practical means possible.
  8. The cost is mentioned here with a claimed source of the Public Accounts Committee. https://www.motorsportaccountant.co.uk/blog/Business-advice-for-motorsport-businesses/Astonishing-levels-of-benefit-fraud
  9. £6.5 billion GBP lost in benefit fraud last year so not surprised it's getting adressed, and good to read the claims they're not going after state pension claimants, even if it's just a matter of time. There's probably much bigger fish to be had before they get round to overseas pensioners.
  10. My answer was in response to the "you have to use Dee" in your post, but to add to this, you're right and you still can't use Wise to transfer money out of Thailand. I think you have misunderstood what MJCM was talking about in the earlier discussion. I only use Wise for their transfer service but it's possible to hold money with Wise in several currencies including Thai Baht. This can then be transferred to other currencies or your bank account in Thailand (or elsewhere) freely. The key point (I believe) is that any balances can not be funded from THB deposits. The deposits must be made from another approved currency but once in Wise can be changed from one currency to another at will. Does that make more sense?
  11. Historically it may have been difficult, hence the use of Dee Money, but there are numerous reports now of people sending money out via their bank's website or mobile app.
  12. Did you have an evisa or a visa sticker? If the former, did you show a copy to the Immigration Officer stamping you in on arrival?
  13. Take the car out before they lay the asphalt and park it round the corner.
  14. The only top 10 list with 11 entries!
  15. It's being re-absorbed into Thai Airways who are continuing most (all?) its routes.
  16. Perhaps it's not being bought as an investment but as a place to live?
  17. British Airways don't allow extra according to the oneworld information page, but they are the only exclusion. https://www.oneworld.com/travel-benefits
  18. Certainly on Finnair Light tickets as a One World Sapphire.
  19. I just purchased an airline ticket a couple of days ago and was doing it through "airline".co.th and it appears as you say and was priced in THB. I reneged at the last minute and made the purchase through "airline".co.uk and was charged in GBP. Is this still a SITI situation and just done behind the scenes, as there was no apparent Thai link except for the origin of the flight?
  20. This unpackaging of ancillaries is good for frequent flyers who get luggage, lounge etc as a perk of their status so can buy these cheap tickets but not lose out on the features they require. I've done it a couple of times with Finnair "Light" tickets but as you say prices have gone up, although I see signs of Finnair returning to almost pre-covid level on some routes/dates.
  21. Thanks for coming back 8 months later with such eloquent feedback.
  22. Siamburi's in Pattaya.
  23. OP has been posting about his fictitious friend on overstay since October and just needs to bite the bullet and leave or resign himself to hiding forever. https://aseannow.com/topic/1310066-overstay/
