800k only provides one retirement extension of stay so if using that method other person would have been on dependent extension and that would be lost in the event of the death of retirement extension holder. So some couples do use retirement extensions at 800k for each to avoid that issue. As we have no knowledge of what agent actually did or cost I would again use to make the process simple after the loss of husband.

If you have not read this topic you may want to take a glance - any type of bank account in your name will take months to transfer to wife upon your passing due to laws here requiring probate court process. Not sure if that type of account might make it even more of an issue.

That might be an omen. If repaired and not re-sealed properly you could have a radiation area larger than the immediate microwave. The idea is that if you die during that month the money would go to other account as would no longer be needed with you dead. The problem, other than remembering to cancel each month, is that such a transfer would not be legal after your death.

Not a viable option for most of us I fear - how many reports do we have every month of people mistakenly taking out a few baht from such an account and ending up short for immigration? As for the legality expect if bank made such a transfer after your death it would not be considered legal in any case.

Understand (and the longevity comment was 90% in jest) - is insurance co reliable? If foreign could be other issues I suspect. For US bank accounts they have simple "pay on death" paperwork that can be filled out at any time.

If you have the funds and just worried she will spend have her set up account and you keep control of passbook/card until you pass and she can then use? You could put money into account much above what she knows about if worried she might try to gain access. Just another path that might fit some.

Weight loss pills can be a dangerous drug (and many have been removed from sale). First package would have to be accepted for mailing in Thailand which I suspect is highly unlikely (if it is will be with full ID requirements recorded). You will be responsible in the end. As said there is no simple work around using the 800k in bank retirement extension under current rules - the best you can do is lower bank deposit to 400k when authorized. So this makes the marriage extension much more attractive for those with that option - only need 400k in bank several months a year. If dead set against marriage extension or not legal marriage the retirement income could be an option for many using the 800k method just for it being simple.

Don't believe there is any issue with others using an ATM card with permission (done all the time) - it would be that the owners death removes such permissions.

The bank has procession now. If normal account you could have ATM card and she would likely have some time to drain - technically fraud but may not be seen or enforced if eventual probate appear to be in her favor.

Good luck with that. It is the bank's money until proven otherwise. Remember that 9/10ths of the law being procession? Banks take that to the extreme.

As has been said bank can not act on a will - it must go to court first and that takes months.

BBL had two types of joint account - those that require both signatures and those that either party can withdraw - so that may be the issue as have not seen posting of this being an issue (but guess if you are dead and gone you would not be posting)? Some have reported using an single name account with second name in passbook UV page for withdrawals (only the owner name on passbook front page so accepted by immigration). As has been said probate required to release funds and can take 3-6 months from many reports. Some banks/personal seem more paranoid than others so freeze may not be absolute. But for the 800k extensions perhaps best solution would be to change to income method if financially able to do so. Or in any case have enough money available to spouse for the probate period. For those with next of kin outside Thailand that could claim funds suspect will(s) could be very important.
