  1. But when and if it actually gets that low it is morning time and in actual city often much hotter. Whole house cooling works best in place like Denver where day and night temps are worlds apart. Will it helps here? Sure - but most will want more as during the day when needed it does not work.
  2. But the outdoor dogs love that cool air seeping out. ????
  3. Not sure if still open but there was a visa/passport service on ground floor of GPF Witthyu Towers (walk in main entrance next to 7-11 and around back to South side) that did mine last time (couple years ago). Not expensive and they know what is required as is first tower North of US Embassy Annex (Consultate) on same side of street and used to house INS office.
  4. Be very careful using Thai photo shops as they normally will provide a blue background (even when taken with white). Make sure they know it must be a white or off-white background. Requirements below: Your photos or digital images must be: In color Sized such that the head is between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (22 mm and 35 mm) or 50% and 69% of the image's total height from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. View the Photo Composition Template for more size requirement details. Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open Taken in clothing that you normally wear on a daily basis Uniforms should not be worn in your photo, except religious clothing that is worn daily. Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face. Headphones, wireless hands-free devices, or similar items are not acceptable in your photo. Eyeglasses are no longer allowed in new visa photos, except in rare circumstances when eyeglasses cannot be removed for medical reasons; e.g., the applicant has recently had ocular surgery and the eyeglasses are necessary to protect the applicant's eyes. A medical statement signed by a medical professional/health practitioner must be provided in these cases. If the eyeglasses are accepted for medical reasons: The frames of the eyeglasses must not cover the eye(s). There must not be glare on eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s). There must not be shadows or refraction from the eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s). If you normally wear a hearing device or similar articles, they may be worn in your photo.
  5. Only if the outside temp is above the inside temp however. When it is 38c outside it is still going to be hot inside. Even at night temps are seldom below 29c most places in Thailand. But indeed they will help when outside temps allow. But shade/insulation are basic needs.
  6. A July quote from Rutnin was 230k from information I have received - but actual cost of operation was 140k. Expect will vary depending condition when undergoing treatment. In this case treatment was reportedly gas injection operation and first week scheduled five medications many times a day and doctor visits for at least 2 weeks.
  7. And make living area look like a dungeun. Not nice.
  8. The issue during rainy season is more humidity than heat and outside air is humid. Airconditioning (which also removes water) is the best solution. The outside air is still much hotter than you want so pulling through will not help that much (for getting temps below outside temp). But if you have high heat buildup from ceiling and walls good insulation/ceiling air flow might be best (to keep the extra heat out).
  9. This must be based on using government facilities as most private hospitals in Bangkok have such equipment, and for such scans the cost may not be that much more than a government hospital in our experience. As said contrast/scan can be problematic for some and should only be done with highest level of medical supervision (not playing games on their phones) and facilities for treatment in the event of negative reactions.
  10. Actually other than requiring two visits and a few more items it is the same process and not that hard to do as long as wife is healthy and available. Why would anyone want to risk gray methods for extension of stay when they are qualified for fully legal processing?
  11. Have not done for several decades but some land crossings will want at least an entry/exit stamp for other country or may say next day. This can normally be overcome using an agent. For air travel should also have entry/exit stamps but do not believe anyone has issue doing same day. That said many enjoy a few days of freedom every 3 months or take wife for vacation. There is nothing wrong is such visa usage and some use long term.
  12. The issue is Wise transfers from a Thai account to your account so unless they use the account with Bangkok Bank the receiving account will be listed as a local transfer - only when they use their account at Bangkok Bank as source will it be listed as international (as that account is known as funded by international transfers).
  13. The issue is that for some Swift does not solve that as some use local bank transfer for final payment so listed as domestic transfer on bank account. Most world banks do not have direct transfer ability via Swift.
  14. But baht was worth less on the 3rd than yesterday - so after all charges: July 03 1st report 35.05 TT rate - you got 34.81 using Swift - less .24 July 23 1st report 34.31 TT rate - I got 34.17 using Wise - less .16 Not saying your Swift is not a viable option - especially with your low cost - but for many it would be much more of a loss and just doing transfer can be an issue from overseas with some banks.
  15. If destination account is BBL there will not be any deposit to his Kasikorn account - Wise would use their Kasikorn account to forward to Bangkok Bank and a credit advise would have to be obtained from Kasikorn (if we are talking about Bangkok Bank being immigration account).
  16. He would likely only have an account at one bank and one bank book. Did you mean "both bank book and Wise PDF"?
  17. My post has nothing to do with amount or day - just that money is not held in an account without access for any fixed period of time. As for getting money on Sunday almost any bank branch in a shopping mall is open.
  18. Then there is the lower exchange rate (much much lower if you send Baht). Then there is any intermediate bank deduction. Then there is the .25% (200 to 500 baht deduction) at Thailand bank end. From Wise today: 1,500 USD (exchange rate 34.46) $12.60 Wise fee (ACH bank transfer) 51,255.80 Baht into Thai account (no deduction).
  19. But they could have had a different experience at another branch of the same bank. It is not a bank requirement. Nor is a 700 baht debit card.
  20. Wise can and do tag accounts to use BBL (but it is not guaranteed 100% as that account might not have funds and another bank use required to make on time). But in my several years of using has been 100%. Also list long term stay in Thailand as reason for transfer. In event transfer local listed immigration has accepted Wise transfer paperwork in some cases and believe in all will accept report issued by local bank making transfer to BBL account (although you will have to visit that bank to obtain).
  21. No there is not. But bank employee may be more keen on helping if you do.
