  1. One thing you have to keep in mind is that the level of service can vary from one agency to the other. But I can assure you that I (we *) receive or have received stellar service from the Bangkok Bank agencies at Buriram Robinson, downtown Buriram, BigC Buriram and the one near the (former?) Kap Choeng immigration office. * I always have my wife with me. Our level of deposits varies from 4M to 1.5M, so a lot less than their bigger clients.
  2. It demonstrates that some people are willing to break the law to make minor gains. This situation reveals the open sewer Pattaya is.
  3. Been with Bangkok Bank for 10 years, and I have zero complaints. Joints account, Saving account, FCD/USD, FCD/CHF, Debits cards, Credit card and of course eBanking. Really 100% satisfaction.
  4. Something that's totally absent, cannot be flawed.
  5. Nonsense, no cat will attack you in front of 7/11. Unless yo try to handle it.
  6. Funny that only the US Fed, and "Sleepy Joe", can see to nee the compensate for the frantic emissions of the Covid times. Thanks US, for thais as well as for the Ukraine bit.
  7. a) He isn't a member of this community, never will be. b) When the Moo Baan organises collective work, once or twice a year, I remind my wife to give them a 500 note to contribute to the after hours drink. Which makes me a "good Farang", ultimate ambition.
  8. Well, they take copies of my wife's blue book and of my yellow book, both showing the same address. This is the Buriram office. Now I have no idea what they do for those people who haven't got a yellow book. I thought everyone had one as it is a mere formality at Amphur.
  9. But I can't see why he is doing this.. Rather weird, isn't?
  10. Well, my wife go me one before I got my driver license, and I find it useful, for opening bank accounts, credit card account, etc.. Immigration is happy to have copies of it when I do the yearly extensions. Nothing "great", but quite useful. It probably depends on where you are. My guess is that in places like Bangkok, Pattaya, etc. the Farang gets processed somewhat differently. I am out in the sticks, beyond the black stump.
  11. Leads me to believe that "keeping face" is a real burden, that they've done away with, thanks to Covid. Not the smartest bunch on the planet though. One could be "na rak" and still look utterly stupid under that mask.
  12. Indeed, I have a set of Xiaomi bricks [former surveillance cams] here. With absolutely Zero support...
  13. You sound like a real genius; "having sex" isn't the primary issue here. OP is about marriage, of a 17 years old girl to a no hoper What will be her future? Shouldn't she be thinking of finishing high school, go to University and build a life for herself?
  14. It is statutory rape, period. It should ruthlessly enforced, especially in a society based on glaring inequality.
  15. " It was unclear if the two men had an alcohol breathalyzer test to determine if they were intoxicated at the time of the altercation." A good Thai lawyer would argue that a positive reading could have exonerated them.
  16. Cahors, possibly Cuenca (Ecuador).
  17. If it is wooden you have to check the structure for white ant infestation before you spend and money on renovation. Most locals give up on wood, now as it is way too expensive and difficult to protect.
  18. Salaries are low because Thai workers are poorly qualified and lazy. These issues must be addressed before any lasting salary raises can be given. Throwing 300 or 400 Bahts at the minimum wage will only generate inflation. But Thaksin knows that quite well, just as we know that man is a populist.
  19. From Korat going to Bangkok would make a lot more sense.
  20. Indeed, I loved her adorable, so sexy, accent when she spoke French.
  21. Well if you truly believe that there is only one course of action. But I'd appreciate you initiate your action with yourself.
