  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 156 seconds
  2. "festering". must have been a doozie of an infection...lol
  3. I use a Mac Mini with a Samsung M8 monitor as my desktop computer. It works very well, The Mini does not have many ports, but this is easily remedied by adding an (also small) Satechi Mac Mini hub. The hub has the same footprint as the Mac mini. It gives me multiple Type C and card ports. The only issue I have with my system is I cannot get my Mac mini to operate with the Samsung webcam - but that is not a real problem for me. This system is faster than my M2 Macbook Pro.
  4. 555. They are all edible!! and according to my Thai family (and most other Thai I know) - they are all very dangerous and deadly - lol I am trying to educate them , but it is a battle...
  5. I agree with others - it looks like a (harmless) Rat Snake. It is NOT a Krait!
  6. I understand your concern for the welfare of other living creatures - however I honestly question the logic of perpetuating the canine problem in Thailand. There - I have said it . The elephant is now visible. If the dogs have owners - it is not your responsibility. If they are strays - it is still not your responsibility . When they cause a motorcycle accident, or bite someone - will you put your hand up to be responsible for their actions?
  7. The Captiva is an unreliable unloved model in other markets. (and here as well - hence the low price) As others have said - you need to pump up your budget a bit to get anything reasonable.
  8. +1 for the Soju in our younger days, Corona + Tequila = Coronita - these were guaranteed to induce a massive headache!
  9. Others... Global House , DoHome , Yong House. - most of the plumbing stock in Mr D is not great quality. Unfortunately the builder who built our house sourced most of our basic plumbing fittings from Mr DIY. I was not aware of this at the time. In the last 12 months I have replaced nearly all of them...
  10. Diesel prices do not fluctuate like petrol prices, because the cost of diesel is capped by the Government. It was capped at 32 baht for the last few years, but must have been raised lately, because I have seen prices creep up a bit in my area too...
  11. I just completed this quiz. My Score 62/100 My Time 112 seconds
  12. looks good. I dream of it being 10.1C (and feeling like 7.8'C) in Kanchanaburi! 555

  17. Thank you for your concern - I assume your suggestion is because I said I was battling algae. However I was not 'fishing' for advice. With 50 years experience in freshwater and marine aquaria I have a fair idea of what I am doing.
  18. The filter media are these foam cartridges. They work quite well - and there is certainly a lot of grunge in them when I clean them. This unit keeps my water quite clear - my only ongoing battle is keeping the green algae growth down. I acknowledge that this filter is not great, but it does the job - and does not require a lot of maintenance. Obviously other factors like the volume of the pond and the biological load (fish number and size) needs to be taken into consideration when selecting filtration methods - but I am attempting to keep my response relatively simple. My 1000l tank in my house has a full biological filter system with undertank sump and automated water change every day - the water is crystal clear - but filtration like this is not necessary for a pond (IMO).
  19. Hi. I think that canister filters like the one pictured are better suited for indoor use. You are better to buy a dedicated outside pond unit ( or make one yourself - YouTube is your friend!) I have a Boyu unit - okay , but not great. My pond is about 4x2x1.5m - and i need to clean filter elements monthly. I also had to fit a stronger pump, as the original did not last long. (about 6 mths). I use bore water - and it is Very hard!! Not salty , but heaps of Calcium.
  20. So much time and effort is wasted on petty accusations like this in Thailands governance. This is probably why little seems to actually get done here..
  21. Do you have water dripping from the main drain line? In normal split system instals, the water forms in the head unit and is drained outside by piping. There should be no dripping from the inverter unit. You may be correct in suggesting insufficient lagging on the gas pipes coming from the inverter. Edit. looking again at the main picture - it looks like they did not instal a drain line, which should be 'in the bundle' with the gas pipes. I would be calling the installers back...
  22. very unWISE move by Pads' friend
