  1. i have had no negative issues, and have much more oomph than stock , but fuel consumption is 20% higher & I do leave a trail of black smoke if I sink the hoof!! The response is also better because I installed an ECU shop throttle response modifier.
  2. The 2.0 BiTurbo is quite civilised, and in Wildtrak form is not too loud or agricultural. I drove a new one last week. The power is acceptable, but won’t frighten the children. I went stupid with my Raptor - 20” Wide tyres , intake & exhaust mods, Powerchip etc. I put dynamat in doors and under body to keep it quiet, but the tyres are loud…. Which is why I am looking at stepping back into a more ‘standard’ vehicle.
  3. There is a 9 month wait list for this engine in Rangers in Australia! Here in LOS - the only option is the 2 litre BiTurbo or single turbo in lower spec Rangers - or 3litre petrol V6 in the Raptor. I have the 2 litre Raptor, & IMO the new V6 petrol donk is a bit of overkill! I am not a killjoy (like some other posters here), having owned a 750hp Shelby in Australia before moving here - but the Ranger is a truck, not a sports car!
  4. Unless you are an indigenous Australian - then you can legally do it all day/every day
  5. WTH. I have wasted my time reading some bs threads on TV/AN - but this one takes the cake ????????????
  6. . Many sources report over-representation of Indigenous offenders at all stages of the criminal justice system. As of September 2019, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners represented 28% of the total adult prisoner population, while accounting for 3.3% of the general population Lawlessness is a major issue with the Koories. They are able to flaunt the law in many cases because in many areas there seems to be laws for them and laws for us. The police are hesitant to enforce the law because they know they will be accused of being racist. In Eastern Victoria where I lived and worked for 35 years, they are a major problem. I know this sounds racist - but it is a fact.
  7. Do you , or have you lived in Australia? The Indigenous people have a loud voice , and are doing very nicely , living off of the White mans’ feelings of guilt for past occurrences.
  8. Australia used to be referred to as ‘The Lucky Country’. It is a safe, clean diverse country. Plenty to see and do - and the people are generally friendly - especially in the rural areas. The cost of living is much higher than LOS. This is driven mainly by wages - Aussies don’t mind working, but will not work for a pittance like many Thai. They value their time a lot higher. What annoyed me enough to leave Australia is that over the last few decades the country has become a ridiculous Nanny State. We are over policed and over governed. It seems you need a permit or a certificate to do almost anything. This occurred because the Government creates jobs by creating more & more tiers (tears?!) of officialdom. Australia used to feel like a fun country. Now it has become so politically correct and woke that people are scared of doing or saying the wrong thing. To me , Thai society feels more fun - like Australia was 50 years ago!
  9. I am not the full bottle on all of this. The Aus Super website is pretty informative. Check this info for TTR account , and follow links to their retirement account ( Choice income) https://www.australiansuper.com/retirement/transition-to-retirement Hope this helps.
  10. My super will allow me to set up a drawdown account, that is still invested in the ‘stream’ of my choice. I could still take extra lump withdrawals as required at any time. Check to see if CFS has similar options. That way your remaining super balance is still working for you.
  11. Kenny202 you should have no problems organising your Super from Thailand. I am in a similar situation to you - my Super was available to me a few years ago, & it could be withdrawn tax free, but as I was still earning from other sources, and paying Tax in Oz - I haven’t touched it. I am able to access my Super online (Australian Super) & organise payout, transition to retirement account, or set up a ‘pension’ type drawdown account. After preservation age has been reached there should be no tax implications for you. It may be worthwhile looking at the Australian Super website just to get some clearer information. I am definitely not touting for them - but I feel your pain with CFS. I had several employees that used this fund, and even as an employer - I found CFS to be a pack of shunts to deal with.
  12. The Baht seems to be strengthening against many currencies in the last few weeks. It is stronger against the Pacific Peso (Aussie dollar) - even though the PP is strengthening (slightly) against the USD. I never try to predict , or understand! I just transfer money if I need it.
  13. The problem with potential toxicity of treating dogs already infected with Dirofilaria (heartworm) was a major issue when medicating with DEC (DiEthylCarbamazine) - but is not a great risk with Ivermectin treatment.
  14. Words fail me... I cannot see the sense in having a committee meeting to decide what they might possibly do in several months time. Just a hot-air gab fest and big noting session. Plenty of scope for a lot of flip flopping in the meantime.
  15. As Polar Bear has said - preventing your dog from being reinfected is the most important treatment. The parasites are carried by ticks - which transmit the Ricketsia to your dog when they feed. (on your dog). We have ticks in my area (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) - and after having 2 of my dogs infected - I now treat them monthly with Nexgard. Both of my dogs recovered completely after a 10 day course of Doxy & NSAIDs. I am a vet - but am no authority on tick fever, as it was not something we saw in southern Australia where I had my practice. If your dog is having reoccurring symptoms because he is being reinfected - prevention is the cure. If his symptoms are reoccurring because the medication & his immune system cannot eliminate the parasite - I would be concerned that there could be other issues at play here - autoimmune? It would be prudent to have your dog reassessed and maybe get the opinion of a different vet.
  16. Wrong information! The time length of the prescribed antibiotics should reflect the bacteria involved or the site of infection. I had a Mycobacterial infection that required antibiotic therapy for 5 months. I was a veterinarian in my previous life(!) and many infections I treated in my patients required medication for 3 to 4 weeks, though the bulk of my patients received 5 days of treatment. The OPs’ fear or reluctance to take antibiotics is IMO unfounded.
  17. My rules - exercise every day , have home gym so treadmill every day, and weights every third day. Eat when we are hungry. No set ‘mealtimes’. Eat whatever we want - no rules regarding sugars, carbs etc… Drink alcohol most days - try not to get hammered more than once a week. I am reasonably fit , and enjoy my life. I intend to maintain my quality of life and not feel like I am depriving myself of anything. I have no desire to live forever. I want to leave the party while I am still having fun - and I want to be aware that I am still at the party!
  18. Change a few leaders’ names - still just as relevant today
  19. I married because I am ‘old school’ & happy to show my ‘commitment’ to my union. 3 times!! First - English wife - 7 years together. Possibly 6 happy months together! I did not know what PMT was until I met my second wife. It seemed the first one had it constantly. Subsequent marriages - “ A Triumph Of Hope Over Commonsense” - as a friend told me. Second - Aussie wife - 20 happy years - unfortunately she cashed in her chips too early… Current - (future ex? - just kidding!) - Thai wife - Much younger than me. Marriage was a sign of commitment to each other. It makes us & our family feel better connected….
  20. Her plan is for him to cark it!! She wants the life insurance pay out. Clever plan ????
  21. I have a tricked-up 2020 Raptor - and am getting tired of the noise from my monster tyres!! I am thinking of trading it in and going for the new Wildtrack. I will comment again after I drive one. I was initially very excited, thinking that the 3.0 diesel V6 would be available - like it is in Australia - but alas LOS only has the 2.0 Biturbo - same as in my Raptor.
  22. I am not a great fan of the Fortuner - having driven them a few times in the last few years. If your wife got everywhere she needed to go in her HR-V , I doubt whether she would ‘need’ 4WD. The 4WD may be safer - having better traction - but for normal driving this is a non issue. 4WD is also likely to have a slightly higher fuel consumption.
  23. I would not be game to cross the border now!
  24. Bangkok to Phuket is not a very interesting drive. Slightly more scenic if you go via Ranong, instead of Surat Thani. Like most countries - the drives are much more interesting if you don’t take the main highways. But in Thailand this is much slower due to the abundance of slow moving local traffic/bikes/chickens…!
