  1. I think I understand your problem, but have you also asked yourself if maybe you yourself could have been doing something different to avoid the situation you are now in? I believe even before the pandemic there were rules and regulations in place for people to stay in Thailand legally so they can take care of a child and/or wife/husband. Deportation and blacklist is nothing new if you do not have a valid stamp in your passport that allows you to stay in Thailand. Getting angry at the government will not help you to stay. You can still stay in Thailand if you follow the immigration rules. Maybe not the way you like it, but this is the way it is. Sort out your finances as required by immigration and get an extension of stay. Enjoy Thailand and take care of the child.
  2. I've been few times to Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar, Seychelles, Maldives (and few other places). Some personal observations and nothing against people who have other views: -Mauritius was nice for short time. Too small island for extended stay. After while nothing to explore. -Reunion a bit nicer than Mauritius. -Seychelles/Maldives for tourists/holiday and also not for long stay. -Madagascar poor country and under developed, so ok tourist/holiday destination but not for long stay. -All great destinations to visit. I will stay in Thailand, but when back to normal pre-covid times, might vist any of these places again, as a tourist.
  3. Very recent at Pathum Thani office you have to report: 800K 3 months after application date. 400K 6 months after application date. Application and approval date should be the same, not to be confused with expiry date of extension. Different offices might have different results.
  4. Just think about that defamation is a possibility against you when things go not as you want it to go. In Thailand, defamation is a criminal offense. Under section 326 of the Penal Code, the person commits defamation charge when they make false statement to someone by communication that false statement to the third person, causing damage to the reputation of the injurer.
  5. I think you overestimate your contribution to the Thai tourism economy. How much is 'many others'? Hundreds, thousands? The pandemic does have an impact on GDP and Thai economy. A few, or even 'many others', less arrivals does not. Good luck and hope you can make it here in due time. Same as many others.
  6. If there was something wrong with your insurance (or any other docs) you would not even reach the immigration desk. There is no need for immigration to check your insurance.
  7. Thanks all for the replies. I will advise to get 12 month bank statement to go with all other docs. Rules in each and every office are different. Obvious too difficult for all offices to follow the same rules set by the government. As long as you know what office requires which documents it is an easy process to get an extension of stay. The 3, 6 months report , 12 month bank statement, bank letter and copies of bank book seems to be a bit too much proof that money in the bank was as required.
  8. For a friend who will extend his stay based retirement (non-o) with 800K in the bank early January at Pathum Thani immigration office. He does have this slip in his passport that he had to show 800K 3 months, and 400K 6 months after his 1st extension last year, which he did. Some confusion about required bank statement for this immigration office, also because he already reported as per above mentioned. Does he require a 12 month (takes about a week to get) or is 6 month (takes 5 min to get) bank statement ok?
  9. OK. Option to request a new/updated e-cert is not available. Talk to MorProm operator and get info updated if really need to.
  10. You clicked the box at the bottom "I hereby confirm that info provided is correct..." There was an option to change your nationality.
  11. For a rough translation use Google Translate app, and aim the camera at the text. Very rough translation though, and lots of time not so accurate. But ok if you just want to get an idea about the text written in Thai. (or any other language)
  12. Do not know why some get save failure. However, system is not overloaded. I know few people who register today around 14:00 local time and all received registered password exactly 2 hours later. Also able to log in with the new password. Now just waiting for our reporting window to open so we can check the on-line 90 day reporting.
  13. Friend using Pathum Thani office did not get home visit this year due covid restrictions. They said to prepare for a home visit when applying for the extension. They never came. He collected his one year extension (marriage) at the office about 2 months ago.
  14. 30 Oct 2021 Suvarnabhumi seems to be back: https://weather.tmd.go.th/svp120Loop.php
  15. "fully vaccinated tourists from at least 10 low-risk countries would be allowed to enter Thailand by air with no quarantine requirements". Think they will mean you stayed in low-risk country for x amount of days before travel to Thailand. Not direct based on citizenship. This number (10) went up last time I read the local news. Laos was I think not on the list. Trust they will make a statement with all the requirements closer to 01 Nov.
  16. Should Thai logic also be applied to tourists? Not so long ago we had a minister who did something naughty and got caught in Oz with, if I remember correctly, washing powder in his possession. He was allowed to be a minister, because he was caught and convicted outside Thailand, and this had no influence here in Thailand. Here he was considered innocent because it happened outside Thailand. In short, foreigner did something bad outside Thailand should be considered innocent honest tourist until they do something bad here in Thailand. 555 Don't think it will work this way though.
  17. For KLM absolutely yes, I will never fly with them again. As bad as BA when it come to customer service and their aircraft are stone age I flew many times with KLM to AMS, biz and eco. KLM great service on board. Now 2 daily flights from BKK to AMS, one 777 and one 787. Best to choose 787 Dreamliner (average 3.7 years old) over 777. From AMS many destinations with short layover to rest of Europe or other destinations. Schiphol great airport. Much better than Zurich or Vienna. I would take KLM compared to other 2 mentioned. Emirates A380 I would not mind taking, via Dubai. (however this was not mentioned in your post as an option).
  18. I agree with your posts in this thread. Strange that my post with a link confirming this number (cdc.gov) has been removed.

  20. 500 THB is indeed not so much. However, some people here forget that not all tourist arriving here are lonely single tourist. Few more arrivals are families, and then paying 500 THB per person starts to add up. Thailand will stay tourism destination for a lot of ordinary people, not only for TAT desired wealthy tourist. Frequent (business) flyers, additional costs will be absorbed by their business (clients). Expats are already here, so no need to complain about it. If you return to your country once a year than 500 THB should not be a hurdle. Tourists, who say they will not come on holiday because of this arrival fee, will not be missed. Their money not spent here is peanuts compared to the total amount of tourism THB. And in case you are a big big spender, additional 500 THB will not make you decide not to come here anymore. When fee will be included in flight, then nobody will know anyway what they are paying for, just the total ticket price. This arrival fee will have no impact on tourism numbers. Numbers will stay low until restrictions are lifted.
