  1. True, that it's the owners responsibility, however he does not interface with Immigration (and they will not go out of their way to try and find him), it basically only comes to light when the foreigner wants something from Immigration and he has to pay the fine or not get what he wants.
  2. LTR is a new style of visa, which you buy like Elite, different from Non-O and Non-OA, it's to encourage wealthy pensioners or working nomad's to "guarantee", there right to live here.
  3. Used to paid by check/cheque, and they were the only local bank that would exchange them for cash, also to pay an annual Insurance Bill, no other local bank would allow me to pay through them, 7-11 are now able to accept payment (changed in the last 2 years) and as I said "The ATM and Book Update machines are nearly always having one problem or another."
  4. The total cost per unit on my bills were Dec 4.64 Jan 5.13 Feb 4.33 (stimulus effect) Mar 5.14 Apr 5.29 Yes, the unit cost has risen, but so did the usage and next month I reckon the units used will be even higher.
  5. In my local branch Wednesday is the best day to go, but be prepared for a long wait for any form of counter service, always queued out the door and down the steps, with 30/40 in front of you. The ATM and Book Update machines are nearly always having one problem or another.
  6. Me, for one. Neither of my company pensions will pay into a Thai Bank account now unless I can provide proof of address in the form of a Council Tax Invoice. Have suggested to them to pay into my Wise account, reply "cannot as Wise is not a bank.
  7. Lloyds International have a section on their monthly statements requesting confirmation of Quote "where you are a resident for tax purposes along with your tax identification number". According to the Thai Revenue Dept I am a tax resident of Thailand, as I live in Thailand for more than 180 days per tax year. Irrespective of where I am a tax resident my UK pensions will be subjected to UK tax. I do not have a Thai Tax ID, nor do I wish to have one, as it has the potential to open me to double taxation.
  8. 2005, when considering moving here, I approached my local branch about registering a Thai correspondence address and was told not possible.
  9. Freemasonry, definitely in my Thai built property wall and getting freer every day
  10. They've given you an "under consideration" stamp, it remains valid until you get the real extension stamp, basically it's unlimited time.
  11. The penny has dropped, that is why they don't update their official list of requirements. Have been doing extensions since 2006 (6 different offices despite living in the same house) and what I hand over is a composite of what I have been asked for. Very rarely have I been told something wasn't needed.
  12. Up 48% from last month caused by a 44% increase in units used and a 15 Satang increase in total cost per unit.
  13. I wouldn't bet on it if I was you and yes I know betting is illegal in Thailand, even though the majority do it.
  14. What extension were you getting? Sounds more like a 90 day report not an extension.
  15. That is in your name only Yes, you can, however I know somebody who applied using 2 accounts same bank but different branches (1 Phetchabun and 1 Pattaya) and was refused his extension and was told to go to Pattaya to fix the problem. He is now using an agent who confirmed multiple accounts are OK.
  16. The rule for retirement funding is 1) 800K for 2 months before (some offices still ask for 3). 2) 800K for 3 months after and 3) 400K for the remainder of the time until 2 months before.
  17. Asked about "domestic overnight trip" at my local office 3 days ago, when getting annual extension (retirement), answer was categorically "need new TM30" when get home.
  18. Does depend a lot on the office. just did my annual Retirement extension yesterday (19 April 2023 in Phetchabun) easier this year than any previous extension at this office, contents list has been compiled from requests for items over a number of years, you're not told if something is no longer required. 1. They provide a pack of 5 documents for completion, the first four are also applicable to marriage extensions. 1.1 TM7 (normal) extension application form (has preprinted Immigration stamps) 1.2 SMT2 - Acknowledgement of General Terms & Conditions related to extension 1.3 Acknowledgement of Overstay Penalties 1.4 Sheet for a house map 1.5 Acknowledgement of Retirement Funding Requirements (not in marriage pack) 2. Passport and related items 2.1 Copy face page 2.2 Copy of all passport pages with visa or extension stamps 2.3 Copy of TM6 Departure card 2.4 Copy of latest TM47 receipt (requested to show original as not stapled in passport, also I do mine on-line) 2.5 Copy of TM30 receipt 2.6 Copy of Yellow Book as proof of address, used prior to TM30 enforcement 3.1 Bank "Ownership" letter 3.2 A 12-month statement of transactions 3.3 Copy of all pages of bankbook, including front name sheet, note in 2020, I tried to give them only copies of sufficient pages to cover the last 12 months (actually went back to 2018 due to lack of use of the account), wasn't acceptable had to be all pages back to opening account in 2014 I submit as 3 packs hence 1.1, 2.1, etc. The submission this year was 22 pages + 1 photo + 1,900 THB and 2 visits to their new office building. No photos of wife, family and house, no need for village head or other witnesses (rumor says they may be coming in the future) and no need for home visit (again rumor says otherwise). Next year should be the same 22 pages (only 3 from bank/bankbook will change), unless something changes, like "new boss wants". Hope this helps.
  19. I'm now using the third passport since my arrival (i.e. 2 new ones). With the first replacement supplied both old and new to Immigration, nothing needed except time (don't know how many stamps were appended), no problems. With the second needed Embassy letter to request transfer and acknowledgement letter from employer noting the change, otherwise no problems. Looks like we are regressing.
  20. This is Thailand we are speaking about, not somewhere that is highly policed with regard to dangerous weapons.
  21. would not be able to go x2 for 2 people with me, unless he walked, advantage of "good living"
  22. The Post Office will transport it for you if you can't get anybody.
  23. My UK International bank has also asked for a TIN, however they are also asking for a Tax Residency Certificate, as this is a throwaway entry on paper statements, and as they are delivered randomly (many missing), I've been ignoring the request to date. Will probably need to do something soon. All my income comes from the UK (Pensions), which is taxed at source (PAYE), so don't know why the bank is asking for them.
