The only way your going to get a meaningful answer is to approach the DLT office you plan to get the replacement from, as with Immigration different offices different rules.

If you are living in Bangkok and your current permission to stay was issued in Bangkok, you will need to do your first 90 Day Report in person in Bangkok. If you have a rental contract for the address you are living at in Bangkok, you might be able to complete a TM30 yourself as "possessor" of the property, however your landlady is in breach of Thai law in refusing to / failing to complete a TM30 within 24 hours of your arrival, but you will be the one fined as you are the one that needs to do a 90 day report. If you have an address in Pattaya/Jomtien and a TM30 submitted to Pattaya/Jomtien to that effect (possibly by a hotel you have relocated to maybe only for a few days) you will only need a TM47.

It's easier to prove it isn't, i.e., bank statement from home country as of 31 December, transfer up to that balance say 2 January, it cannot be current years income (remember Thai Tax Year is the calendar year), just remember not to go above the 31 December balance, but again there are claimable allowances and the tax rate on first 150K of taxable income is 0% currently.

Never heard of one, either an initial (90 Day Non-O) application or a 12 month extension thereof, if it's accepted locally the divisional approval seems to be guaranteed, it just takes time. If it's been accepted locally and then at divisional level, it cannot be rejected by another local office, unless there is something wrong, like applicant no longer meets the criteria for a further extension.

What would happen if he didn't have a girlfriend, just grab the nearest girl for photo's. I seriously doubt if they can legally deprive him of his passport, what would happen if he was stopped in the street and was unable produce the original in a reasonable amount of time, and indeed if he required to for another purpose like proof of ID at a bank, etc.

The Americans do and think that it is the real deal, as they are fast food orientated and that's mainly the only kind they see. Over to the Americans to get upset.

at least 1 Baht is still 1 Baht irrespective of province, unlike the UK of old (or maybe it still is), where a note issued by a Scottish bank, was worth 95% of a Bank of England note, totally illegal according to the banks but in the High Street that's where we were, if you could get the Scottish note accepted at all.

The demise of the village ATM.

I'm on the 800K in the bank, need to provide copy all pages bank book and a 12 month statement, and yes, it is basically a standalone bank account with limited usage, annual subscriptions, etc., (with a significantly higher balance than needed), my daily account is with a different bank and they found it too difficult to activate the Debit Card for an on-line subscription payment. -

True. 1 question and 1 observation. The question does any Immigration office have QR code for paying extension fees, etc. With QR codes being used for even small amounts, and the banks using passbooks in lieu of statements for record keeping, we will be spending a fair bit of time going to the bank to update the passbooks and spend maybe 3 hours a year getting new passbooks, especially if this account is used for "money in the bank" extensions and consolidated entries are not allowed by the IO's. -

I'm the same/was the same, will admit don't trust the phone payment idea, don't know how it hangs together. -

It does appear to be a trend, without doing a physical count my locality gives the impression of about a 35% reduction in ATM's, of course you never notice they've gone until you want one. More worrying is the removal of the SCB and Bangkok branches from Big C and Lotus (with their associated ATM's, etc.), I've now got about a 75km round trip to visit a branch over the weekend. I know in this advanced electronic age we should not need to enter a branch, but if you want I'm a Luddite, cash rules. -
Is Bangkok really under threat from sea level rise?
foreverlomsak replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Quote from the above article As industry experts at last year’s Thailand Tourism Forum agreed, the subway system will open up more space for households and businesses,.......... I would reckon, given the original topic, as the subway system (not the sky train) is below ground level - flood water -

Let it go back to being a flood plain, lets rebuild somewhere better where roads and other infra-structure can be constructed to suit current (if not future) demand or even better decentralize totally. -

due to restrictions within Thailand, only 3 banks can accept large sums (>50K THB) easily, Bangkok Bank, SCB and I think K-Bank.
