From the 14 AUG 2024 Tom Pappert article quoting Prof. Kline on the Trulove case: Still, Kline maintained, “It is too simple of a conclusion to say her office is at fault,” because it’s unclear whether Harris or Allen “had knowledge of the existence of this information,” or whether the police officers involved also hid the information from the prosecuting attorneys. Kline nonetheless told Leahy that questions over potential evidence would have “generally” surfaced for Harris or Allen when interviewing officers and preparing the case for trial. https://tennesseestar.com/kamalafare/man-wrongly-convicted-of-murder-under-kamala-harris-im-going-with-donald-trump-in-2024/tpappert/2024/08/14/?swcfpc=1 -

Harris upended Trump’s electoral fortunes. Just look at North Carolina. The state, which Trump won in both 2016 and 2020, had for months looked like an easy win. 08/21/2024 07:16 PM EDT Wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt at the rally, Geanie McDowell, 46, of Asheboro, said she’s concerned about the increasing difficulty to win the state with Harris at the top of the ticket. “It’s become a tighter race. Now we’re worried Kamala might take the lead,” McDowell said, explaining that because “she’s younger, and she’s a woman,” Harris may appeal to some voters in a new way. What should Trump do to keep a Harris win from happening? “Keep his mouth shut,” McDowell said. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/08/21/trump-harris-battleground-states-00175576 -

Why did the Federal Reserve allow Lehman Brothers to fail (SEP) 2008? The short answer was that Lehman was illiquid and lacked sufficient collateral to borrow enough from the Fed or to renew the repurchase agreement contracts (repos) to avert collapse. (when GW Bush was still President and before 2008 election) -

Tests have ruled out the less severe variant of the disease 'Clade 2', leaving a potential diagnosis of 'Clade 1B', based on some unclear results. From today's NYTimes: Clade I is further differentiated by how it is transmitted, and who is most vulnerable.
