  1. I'm in sandbox program, so free travel around the island and just checking in at hotel and temperature control once a day. Actually I post this from Patong Beach waiting for sunset.
  2. Security personnel don't even bother to check QR code. I asked them and they said that they can not have access to every database in the world, since every country has its own and many don't even have QR code. I went through Security controls in Europe, Doha and Thailand and nobody checked QR code. They just have a look and, "if it looks like an official document" (they used those words), they wave you in. Same when checking in, boarding airplane, entering Thailand, crossing passport control,... nobody checked QR code.
  3. At that price I expect luxury suite at private hospital. ????
  4. Is there still someone remaining at the village? They probably fled, been aware that lockdown was close.
  5. What most bars did was setting a domestic barbecue next to the door and pretending that they are cooking skewers.
  6. Someone here, told me that it only costs about 500 bahts getting a food handling permit and that's all what they need. I don't know if that's true.
  7. Meanwhile here, in Patong, bars are fully open in Bangla Road, serving beer in paper cups. OK, they are supposed to be restaurants, but they are same venues as before and plenty of bargirls (oops, I suppose that now they are restaurantgirls). "Hellooooo, sexy maaaaan". I don't know if food is served, but plenty of beer. And they don't hide and claim publicly their rights to do it because authorities are not helping them: https://www.thephuketnews.com/patong-bars-defy-national-order-to-open-as-restaurants-81397.php
  8. Last weekend my friend went from Bangkok to her small village at Nan. At arriving to bus station she was informed that, if arriving to village from Bangkok, she should be forced to 2 weeks home quarantine. She went back to Bangkok immediately. It seems that small villages, where everybody knows everyone, are forcing newbies to quarantine, but I doesn't happen in big towns.
  9. 'RT PCR' test is mandatory for sandbox.
  10. Well, to be honest I must say that Patong Beach is very clean every day. According to the wheels marks on the sand, they must be using some kind of cleaning machines daily.
  11. Yes, and actually, after looking in many other places, I am changing there. Today, against the euro - official rate: 38'8 - Superrich: 38'45 - Bangla kiosk: 38'07 - most kiosks: 37'xx - airport: 35 I wrote to Superrich but now they don't have office in Phuket.
  12. I'm in Patong Beach and very happy about it. The only problem before in Patong was it been overcrowded, and now I have empty beaches, many open restaurants and also bars open at night in Bangla Road until 23:00. OK, they are supposed to be restaurants, but they are same venues as before and plenty of bargirls (oops, I suppose that now they are restaurantgirls). "Hellooooo, sexy maaaaan". I don't know if food is served, but plenty of beer.
  13. I'm now on my 3rd day of sandbox. May be it's different now, because regulations change daily here, but I did it that way.
  14. Once you book your SHA + hotel, they will book PCR for you and will bill you 8000 bahts. Once you pay for them, hotel will send you certificate for COE.
  15. I don't think so. It's about sample being taken.
  16. Yes. 72 hours before flight departure. I did it this week.
  17. 4 people died of covid? Or 4 people died with covid? We know nothing about age, pre-existing health issues, obesity... Did really covid kill them?
  18. I arrived yesterday to Patong for sandbox. Most places are still closed, but still many restaurants and shops are open. Even some bars. No problem to find open restaurants where to eat, or some shops open. Most malls are closed but Big C is open and you can get anything there. And no Chinese, British, Australian, Indian or Russian tourists. Only some American and European men and couples, mainly from Germany and France, so Patong is really a good place to stay now. I suppose that 40 years ago it was similar, with few tourists and also few open venues, so I can't complain. I was here in 2017 and this was completely different, but I don't think if was better.
  19. Is there any SuperRich office in Patong or Phuket town? I'm in Patong for sandbox but most currency exchange offices here are closed and the few offices still open have really bad exchange rates.
  20. I arrived yesterday to Phuket on Qatar Airways. Plane was about 30/40% occupied. But after Phuket it continued fly to Kuala Lumpur, so I don't know how many of them were staying in Phuket. But airport health control was really busy.
  21. I went to Bangla Road at midnight on Saturday night. Everything was closed. Only some food stalls and people sitting around having a beer in plastic cups. I add some pictures. It was like in "The walking deads". I will go again on Sunday night before 22:00 to have a drink and have a look.
  22. You are aware that hotel front desk will always recommend activities and taxis where they get a commission, aren't you?
  23. I'm in Spain now waiting to board flight to Phuket. I will take your pictures tomorrow night. But I seriously doubt that bars, and specially beer bars and clubs are already open. May be a hidden drink at a restaurant with dinner.
