  1. To pass judgement and further the views on the 70s male by the sounds of it.
  2. I've seen it many times on major bank ATM machines here, at airports (IIRC) and many other large company IT equipment. For a business it's $200 or so per machine. A normal home user is in the $125 price range and I would guess that a decent amount of Windows OS users on this forum don't have a legal license. I can't see Microsoft suing anyone here in the near future.
  3. For the shortest grass? Putting green almost certainly.
  4. I don't believe in karma, but that sounds like karma ????
  5. Seen it many times. Most often on Honda Waves, two up, while changing gear. Have maybe seen a farang do it once. I'd estimate that 99%+ of the crazy fast scooter riders I've ever seen here are Thai males under the age of 22.
  6. Magazines use assets that they believe their readership want to see. If the "lefty" fashion mags aren't interested in the wife of a far right republican, perhaps NewsCorp still has some brands that might be? Just a thought, but maybe it's her husbands personal and party's position on women's rights that influences her appeal?
  7. ...and don't forget that Trump repeatedly criticised Obama for playing golf, saying that if he was in the WH then he wouldn't have time for golf as he'd be working his a$$ off. Back on topic - that one of the two main political parties in the US believes that what Rhodes and others did leading up to and including Jan 6 was not criminal is just stunning.
  8. I am not a democrat and I don't want Trump to be president again.
  9. Usually up to the airline. If you're flying a premium cabin or have a certain frequent flyer status it's included.
  10. I'm guessing the "transgender" doesn't yet have a snatch, so should be the gold tackler.
  11. Homepro carry saveral Ferro products such as: https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1005255 I've used this one to make outdoor light pedestals and its perfect. Already contains sand and cement, just add water.
  12. Lucky they've spent years upgrading the storm drains over and over again or there would have been floods. Oh, hang on...
  13. For the sake of 200 baht I might take them up on the offer. I have a habit of getting the wrong form. I believe it's a TM8 for the permit. The current one on the main immigration website is a double sided document, but I can still see links to a single sided form. I believe this is the correct form: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/5.คำขออนุญาตเพื่อกลับเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักรอีก-ตม.8.pdf and this is an example of how to fill it in (although they missed the day part of the date at the top): http://irco.op.swu.ac.th/Portals/29/Documents/Orientation/Sample_re-entry-permit-kingdom.pdf.pdf?ver=7RzYiA02FVJp_8PLHWVlIw%3d%3d
  14. Thanks all for the replies. I'm flying Emirates and I know I can be forgetful at airports, so i'll play it safe and just go through the normal line with a post-it note stuck to my forehead to remind me. Actually a post-it note on my passport that says "GET PERMIT NOW" would probably be a good idea.
  15. They tried to be racist but were too dumb to do it properly ???? I agree mostly with what you say, but there is a difference in what happened here to the English example you gave. If someone said to me "oh you're English, you must like to drink beer" there is little chance (depending on the tone) that their intent is to insult me. They are just trying to make conversation, albeit based on a wrong (in my case) assumption from the old stereotype. This story is much more than "oh you're Thai, so you must eat dogs". It is more like "we think someone is killing dogs for their meat and, as you're Thai, and Thais eat dogs, it must be you. So f-off back to where you come from you dog eating scum". It's all about the overall context. The context in this case was to insult/slur and the nationality/race of the person was used to form the judgement of blame and as the basis of the comments. It's far from the most heinous case of racism that I've ever seen and I don't think the electric chair is called for just yet, but personally I do think it crosses the racism line. The ignorance of the accuser, IMHO, doesn't detract from the racial tone of their actions.
  16. Afternoon all, This was discussed before but I can't for the life of me find the thread. I need to fly at short notice from Suvarnabhumi and, although I usually get my re-entry permit at the same time as collecting my extension, this time I haven't done it. I'll have access to the fast-track immigration line, but I recall something about it being harder to get to the desk that issues the permits? Should I just go through the normal immigration line to save any hassle? Extension of stay based on marriage (not that this should make any difference). If you could also include exactly where the desk is. Again, if my memory serves me well, I recall that in Suvarnabhumi you can go to the desk BEFORE your exit stamp, but at Don Mueang it is after??? Thanks. ps. this thread isn't for whether it's best to get the permit at the local IO or at the airport ????
  17. Sticking up for yourself against being told to f-off back to your own country isn't playing the race card. They were being labelled as dog eaters based on a stereotype. You come from Thailand so you MUST eat dogs because some people from Thailand eat dogs is playground logic. One could argue either way as to whether those words are racist, but given the context in this story, I'd say the intent sure did cross that line. If the article is accurate, the restaurant owners are victims of idiots and a decent portion of the hate is based on their nationality / race. Racism exists everywhere. No problem calling it out for what it is when it raises its ugly head. The "race card" is played when someone claims that they are being targeted because of their race when that race has nothing to do with it. This story wouldn't appear to fit that definition.
  18. I wish you all the best. While I'm here, I need to borrow 100k baht. Can't offer much in return except for maybe rogering your Mrs (if she's a looker).
  19. Did you visit the Temple of the Furry Cup by mistake? Probably saw me there, I dine often.
  20. For once there is a decent explanation about why the crash seems fishy.
  21. He absolutely needs to exit on his EU passport if he wants that passport to pass any kind of future scrutiny. If he doesn't, he'll have a Thai entry stamp with no exit stamp that he might need to continue explaining into the future.
  22. Putin has already made it clear he has no capability to negotiate in anything even close to good faith. He's also deluded. He continues to bleat on about the west wanting to break up Russia while doing the very thing that might make the west begin to have those thoughts. If Putin achieves ANY kind of victory (in his eyes), his goals will expand further. The real danger (in my eyes) is that Putin is not all that far from end of life (natural or not). If he doesn't care about what becomes of Russia or his family after his death then he is more dangerous than most can imagine. Same goal in my mind though - he should be removed now, not later.
  23. Please don't, I'm tying myself up in nots.
