  1. Seems not. India? https://www.idiva.com/lifestyle/food/factory-workers-stamping-on-rusks-and-other-bizarre-food-vendor-videos/18024455
  2. Have just read through the BHP facebook comments on the happenings of the 'walk-in' vaccinations offered today. Not a good look for BHP and rather sad given their stellar performance when online appointments are in play. Why they decided to arrange a mix of appointment methods for a vaccine that is in high demand is a mystery. As for those suggesting that walk-ins should have been in play from day one.................no words!!
  3. Out of interest (and a bit off topic), ref the Halifax Clarity card, does Halifax send renewal cards to Thailand? I have the card but it was set up with a UK address. I changed that a couple of years back to a Thai address and have not received a new card after my current card expired last month. If cards are not sent to Thailand, is it easy enough to redirect them to a UK address if Halifax are requested to do so?
  4. One shot of AZ at BPH, Pattaya. 2nd shot of AZ due early November (12 weeks).
  5. These might be of interest: Current rates: https://www.pea.co.th/Portals/1/demand_response/Electricity Tariffs Nov61.pdf?ver=2018-11-21-145427-433 Bill calculator: https://eservice.pea.co.th/EstimateBill/#
  6. I renewed my UK passport earlier this year. I made the application 4 months before my extension expired and 9 months before my passport expired. I received it 7 weeks after the application date. I also used an agent. Being aware of the potential for delays I decided to plan ahead...............
  7. I had a similar issue with BPH a few weeks back. Sent them an email and had no response. Then contacted them via their Facebook page (by private messenger) received a response that resolved my query within an hour or so. The response also noted that their email system was down at the time, hence no email response.
  8. Maybe he will follow that izod10(?) poster into oblivion, although possibly reincarnated as.........ohh, it will come to me in a minute!! Another reincarnation on the cards?
  9. Yup, same experience with recent non signature deliveries. Usually they request a photo and I am fine with a nerdy smile!! As for the recent piling on DHL Thailand. Have to say that my experience is only positive. Have had a number of laptops, plus other items, sent to me from UK (most recent end of last year) plus numerous document deliveries. All arrived with no problem and all charges, if applicable, were as expected. Only issue I had was with DHL UK where a document dispatch from Thailand was delayed due to incorrect handling in the UK. The Thailand office looked into my complaint and gave me a bank credit for the cost of the courier.
  10. Some great drone shots of the after effects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frQQySqWfl0 Looking at the early videos and the extent of the flames it really is amazing that the damage was only limited to the nightclub. Kudos to the fire fighters for their efforts in containing the fire.
  11. Have a few in my house, mainly small ones but a big (to me) one made an appearance last night. I waved my foot at it to shoo it away and it seemed to make a bee line for me. I retreated a bit and it disappeared under one of the sofas. Don't mind them being around, but not too close!! Have seen them matching up, on the wall, with our resident jingjoks. But, as others have said, they are fast af so no real danger of being caught, at least not from what I have seen. I also had a bite mark on my big toe (still have a scab) a week or so ago, painful for a day or two so that may have been caused by a spider whilst I was watching TV. Are spiders mainly nocturnal, or mainly spotted at night because of fewer folk around?
  12. Some interesting videos of Pattaya in the 80's and 90's from this youtuber (Thailand1881): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC52cr_qxx66Pt1oxqWNw1TA/videos
  13. Ahh, good old Asil Nadir. A bit OT but my old company caught a rather nasty cold having been contracted to build a hotel in Antalya for his mob in the late 80's. I see he did eventually do some time for his crimes, sentenced to ten years in 2012, served four years in the UK then transferred to Turkey where he was released after one day!!
  14. I received AZ at same location about 10 days back. The code was on the paperwork that was kept by the hospital. Luckily I took a photo of the papers and, with the code, was able to register on the app. Likely you will get the info when you receive the 2nd jab. If needed earlier, give them a call.
  15. This guy didn't get vaccinated. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/08/rightwing-radio-host-dick-farrel-anti-vaxxer-dies-covid
  16. This Pattaya News article of last week indicated that 2,300 local residents were given the Pfizer vaccine. That is one location on one day. So, clearly not just foreigners or 'elite'. https://thepattayanews.com/2021/08/17/2300-banglamung-and-pattaya-residents-get-first-dose-of-a-pfizer-covid-19-vaccine/
  17. The improvement seems to have coincided with improved exports reported for July 2021.. Better than expected results. https://www.thestar.com.my/aseanplus/aseanplus-news/2021/08/23/thai-exports-rise-203-year-on-year-in-july-beating-forecast
  18. A number of Thai family members have received the Bt5,000 today. Others yet to receive but timing seems dependent on ID number so likely to be in the coming days. Most based in Chonburi but also other areas adjacent to Bangkok.
  19. OP, you mentioned in an earlier topic that you had an appointment for a jab with BPH on the 24th August. Is that still an option for you?
  20. A previous poster 'delboy' noted (top of pg3) that BCC had arranged a jab for him in CM. He wasn't able to take up the offer but clearly shows that locations other than Bangkok and Pattaya are being set up. Did you ever actually make contact with BCCT since this thread was set up? The OP did subsequently indicate BCCT were contacted by many hopefuls, I presume you were one of them.
  21. There was a topic in the Health section about the BCCT initiative. https://aseannow.com/topic/1222224-uk-citizens-seeking-covid-vaccine-in-thailand/ I signed up for it, amongst many other other options, and they sent an email update towards end of July stating that dates/appointments were being worked on and to advise if assistance was still needed as they had a long list of applicants. I pulled out as I had a firm option at that time. There were also a number of mentions of this option in the many other threads on vaccination possibilities
  22. Date 19/08/21 at BPH, Pattaya. Choice of AZ/Pfizer and I chose AZ. 2nd jab due early November - 12 weeks. This was organised by BPH for their registered patients with an instant confirmation of appointment date, via a link provided by Pattaya News, and follow-up SMS the day before. As it happened, also received an SMS, same day, from BPH as part of the Expatvac scheme, this for Pfizer at Central Festival also on 19th. But I had preference for AZ so passed on this. BPH experience was excellent with an orderly walk through of the process. Arrived about 12.30 (for 1pm) and finished just after 2pm, including the 30 minute after jab wait.
  23. Maybe some of the 415k AZ doses that were donated by the Brits to Thailand a few weeks back? Who knows? But, never look a gift horse...........!!
