What do you miss about your home country?

Dear Folks, I am not sure I have many great memories of Christmas. Still, whatever blessed memories of Christamas I might have retained, by age 70-plus, most involve snow. Here in Thailand, snow is unlikely, unless one takes it up the nose, which is not legal, of course, and also not advised, and completely unhealthy, too. Therefore, if one cannot have a White Christmas, then what might be the next best thing? I would say, it must be listening to the White Album on the day-after the big depressing blowout of Christmas, when most might be either hungover, or feeling the blues, having not received what they thought that they deserved. This is why I am sharing this YT link with you. When I was very young, listening to the White Album provided me with needed cheer, after our Christmas get-togethers, around the family hearth. I listen to this, religiously, once a year, just as others might read Dickens. Dickens, of course, is peerless. Havisham is eternal. So, I would say, the White Album is just about the best anodyne for post-Christmas blues. There is no better, unless it is the hair of the dog. By the way, what did Santa bring you this year? Hope it was not the clap…..555 Just joking, of course. If you really want to know… The problem with Christmas is the SUPER-HIGH expectations of the Christmas Holiday which…. Almost never come true. How could any mere mortal expect to reach these heights, on any given day, during any given lifetime? Impossible. It would be like….. Trying to go from Stockholm to Uppsala in under 15 minutes.... Just not possible.....unless...... Best regards, And, unfortunately, it has not yet begun to snow here….. Not yet. Gamma

A Christmas Day bust-up down the 7/11.

Truth be told.... I actually was forced to sit next to a Russian, today, at the bank. One of the worst experiences of my life. The clothes he was wearing were not enough color-coordinated for my tastes, and this was only one of his many offences. He was not a Dostoevsky, by any means. Now, I know what you guys have been complaining about. Still, this knowledge does not help me to deal with it. In the future, I will never leave my house. -
Why not? JT is a great poster. There has never been, and never will be, a poster as great as JT. Did he lose his connection? She..... Lost her connection..... JT is probably the ONLY one here who really understands me. I have been reading JT for years, now. He will be missed. "I saw her today at the reception A glass of wine in her hand I knew she was gonna meet her connection At her feet was her footloose man....." Ah baby! Ah yeah! Do that! (Everybody is getting old, now. Hard to keep it up. Ah Yeah!)

Speaking of being tied down to one's seat. I would suggest that you search for one of JingThing's past posts, if you want to know more about being tied down. JT, himself, mentioned this being tied down. And, his post has stayed with me....til today. Maybe JT will comment further, since I would like to know more about this. Once cannot choose one's father. Neither can a father choose his son. Such is life.

No. There is no drug known to Man which can bring peace of mind, and relieve one of the travails of reality. Any drug, very soon, will cause habituation, and you will soon become addicted to any drug which may have temporarily helped, at first. SOMA is the only drug, maybe.... But this is just a fictional drug, created by Huxley. In reality, there is no known drug that will act, psychotropically, for and extended period of time, and still perform as it once did, when you took the first HIT. So, obviously, drugs are not the solution.

Actually, what I had always thought, up until the moment I read your comment, is that feckless means what I had always thought it meant. However, the term "feck", as you seem to have used it, might mean something else. Then, I delved into the meaning of feck, and found that this word might be something Irish. Now, unfortunately, after all my research, I am, in fact... Just as confused as beore. Still, I am also more enlightened than before, which might be a good thing.

There actually IS NO such category as Poster of the Year. Haven't you learned this by now? Therefore, no point in competing for a category that does not exist.

Have you noticed AI generated threads on this forum?
GammaGlobulin replied to JoseThailand's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I am not sure...but.... Honestly, I would prefer that at AI LLMs had never been created. Almost worse than FaceBook. Why would anyone wish to read AI-text (by low-level commenters) on any site which is mostly for the purpose of contributing thoughts created by humans, and not robots? I just do not understand, I guess. I am confused, as always, about this. -
a. No manual popup that I have found. b. In order to get it to popup manually, just dial back the setting to ZERO or off. c. I will give it a good cleaning. Then, test out on the lawn, and far away from the house. d. I will never used this indoors, again. This is a purely outdoor machine, same as an incinerator, etc.

Foreign man assaults Pattaya transwoman over noise dispute

So then. It was actually an Indian party that was too loud? Does not seem as if this apartment/condo/block has an especially upscale clientele. No way I could stay there, even for a day. Also, is this the same group of Indians that were throwing a big party on the flight from India to Thailand recently? Or, is it the same Indian group that exhausted the alcohol supply on the other flight from India. Concerning increase in arrivals from India, what is the most recent data. There are no Indians where I live. Only Thai people. People are quiet around here. I doubt that where I live might be of interest to Indians. No ladyboys, and no loud parties. It's best to carefully choose the environment before moving in. This is the first fault of the Farang. Know your environment. -
British Tourist Faces Charges for 'Destroying an Official Document'

His behavior is African. His passport is UK? How odd. At least, he knows how to dress to impress.
