  1. given the nonsense generated by thai to english online translators i'd get one of my thai friends to translate. if you don't have an educated thai friend proficient in english then pay for a professional translator.
  2. doesn't sound like you were there. sorry to generalise, but thai's aren't know for their acceptance of responsibility. do you have any independent evidence of what actually happened, dash cam for example?
  3. you havne't finished the story... have you bought the land from the moneylenders?
  4. land is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
  5. nothing like a xenophobe on a friday morning. anyway, quite a generalised comment, care to provide evidence to support your claim? thought not. next...
  6. why only reduce at new year, what not all year round? are accidents at other times of year acceptable? bizarre logic.
  7. oh boy, if that's your experience then you know nothing about thailand, you have missed out on soooo much
  8. oh, come on... it's not difficult to sort out your own visa.
  9. i'm a foreigner and never had to pay for sex here, or anywhere else, so i guess the price is what you want to pay
  10. you didn't read much of the article did you...
  11. at least they are being clear about their discriminatory practices. in the land of up to you, it is indeed, up to you.
  12. this comment is in bad taste and should be removed
  13. same as pretty much every airport around the world, cheap duty free prices are generally a myth, tax may be reduced or removed but the retailer simply keeps the price high and increases their profit margin.
  14. just take your business elsewhere. next...
  15. Locals said the woman was not supposed to be riding the electric tricycle, which had a low speed, on the road, which is always busy. ...as they pocketed 500 baht notes...
  16. buy through tickets from agents in the khaosan road area, suggest you don't use an agent on KSR as they will be more expensive, plenty of options in the surrounding streets and shop around for the best price - you'll probably end up on the same bus wherever you buy your ticket. did the journey in 1998, before they constructed the road from poi pet to siem reap, traveled in the back of a pick up through the night and it poured down, the road (track) was shocking, huge pot holes, bridges non-existent or broken down, stopped by armed men in the middle of the night a couple of time for bribes. it took 23 hours from bkk - sien reap, but in those days i was younger and loved the adventure of travel, it was part of my 3 year round the world trip so was fine in the back of a pick up!
  17. every airport has congestion from time to time. honestly, i've been coming here since well before the new airport was built and can never remember having a serious delay at immigration - worst delays caused by fellow passengers not having documents in order. maybe i'm incredibly lucky or maybe the few congested times get a lot of press...
  18. true enough. a definite one eyed view, lack of perspective, lack of understanding(?) of the thai economy from the writers/posters/article cut and paste merchants on this site. it does become a little tedious after a while.
  19. have you been in an ICU in a modern hospital? the level of care is, frankly, awesome. such a cost in a private hospital doesn't surprise me.
  20. the uk may have issues with knife crime, but you can;t fault the effectiveness of the approach to and application of gun control legislation. it can be done.
  21. I have a Non O visa for which I have always used an agent to obtain. I know they have used various "friendly" officers at various offices around the country. sounds like a euphemism for illegally being in the country? the sooner immigration get their act together and remove illegal foreigners the better. such people simply make life worse for all of us here legally.
  22. as i have trustworthy and responsible family and friends it's easy to maintain my life back home, property, address, doctor, etc.
  23. that sounds fair enough. i'd have gone straight to the private hospital. commons sense...
  24. The Hippocratic Oath, “I will use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgement; I will abstain from harming or wronging any man by it,” orders doctors to do their best in their job and not use their skill or knowledge to harm or kill their patients.
